Have you ever seen a movie or tv show or read a book with an item in it that you thought "wow I wish I could really have such a thing?"
How about the Beast's magic mirror? You'd never had to search for anything again. All you'd have to do would be ask the mirror where to find it. Or if a loved one were missing or running late, you could find out where he or she was.
There's a series of books called the Magic Attic Club about a group of friends whose nieghbor has a special attic with a large mirror and a trunk of dress up clothes. Whenever they want to, they can visit, and when they put on an outfit and look in the mirror, they are sent on an adventure in another time and place and are home in time for dinner. How awesome would that be! Anytime you were bored or lonely or frustrated, you could put on a costume and spend the day in another place.
Or how about that machine in I Dream of Jeannie that showed what would happen if you made a certain choice. It would certainly make it easier to make descions if you could see the results in advance! I recently had to turn down a chance to perform in one of the Christmas features for MK because it meant giving up vacation time I had booked, and they wouldn't tell me what role they wanted to train me for. It was probably the Xmas parade.
I really wanted to do it, but didn't want to take the chance of it being something I'd dislike. My boyfriend and I ended up booking a Disney cruise for that wk I'm off!

However, the "Ihave 3 sets of parents" thread reminds me that we have a total of 7 Christmases. In good years, we spread it over as many days as possible, starting on the 22nd and going through the 26th. However, this year it's not looking good and we will likely have to do 4 on the 24th and 3 on the 25th. My family eats dinner at 5, his eats at 7, so we leave mine early and get to his late. They're 70 miles apart...oh what I wouldn't give for a transporter
