I think with online learning taking off during the pandemic, we may see an end to traditional “snow days”. For now, the district we live in is keeping them, but not sure how long that will last.

Letter-writing

OMG yeah. I was a huge fan. Really enjoyed writing hand written letters to my crushes (who almost never responded) and love letters to my girlfriends (who did)... my grandparents and some relatives when they were alive and who were far away when I was a teenager
To this day I enjoy hand-writing letters to certain ppl. My DD's teachers praising their work, veterans when I see their addresses posted somewhere, old friends whose addresses I still have... I used to have tons of pen pals around the world.
The practice of writing hand written letters will disappear inside of 50 years I'm afraid.

There are so many:
Playing outside til dark and riding my bicycle all over the town without fear!
Walking to grade school by myself without fear.
Meeting someone and actually having a conversation without the internet.
Catching fireflies and putting them in a jar for a "light", and then releasing them of course.
Playing on the school playground on the old jungle gym, teetertotter, and high slide.
High school proms in the HS gym which the 11th graders made something special for a theme.
Riding the muscle cars of the 60's with no seat belts, and going over the bumps!
