Things you NEED in the parks

We have in our little park bag:

Lipstick charger for phone
bandaids
Autograph book/sharpie
Meds
Purell
ID
CC
Cash

It was my first time having an AP and we were there for STar wars WE. DH and DD went to ride ToT and the other DD and I went in the Star Wars shopping tent. I wanted to get the AP limited pin for SW's weekend. Back then, we would put all of our stuff in a locker at the front of the park and carry nothing in the park. Well, they wouldn't let me have the pin because although I had my AP with me they wanted ID too! I was able to pick up the pin later that day after we had gone back to the locker but now I always carry my ID as well.

I like to pack along a face wipe, especially when I know I will be spending a lot of time in the parks and won't be able to freshen up at the hotel before dinner. They are convenient to carry in a pocket and make me feel rather refreshed and cleansed before heading into the evening hours. I recommend Ursa Major Essential Face Wipes.

We take a small pack for the following: ponchos, small pill bottle with a few advil, tylenol, immodium, sinus pills, tums, and Bonine, 2 water bottles (we fill them from QS stands), ziplock bags, lipscreen stick, small bottle of sunscreen, some chewy granola bars (1 or 2 each), packet of fruity/gummy things (1 or 2 each), washcloth or hand towel to wipe off wet seats on Splash, Kali, etc. Also a 1st aid kit (small brocade zip wallet from China in Epcot, just slightly larger than a credit card), containing moleskin, blunt end mini-scissors, emery board, a few bandaids, toe tape. An army travels on its feet, and we try to keep ours as blister-free as possible! It sounds like a lot, but it takes up almost no space; I'd rather be prepared than regretful.

In my "wallet" (same as my 1st aid kit) I have: license, credit card, Disney VISA rewards card (until I spend 'em all!), $20, a piece of an index card with the day's ADRs. I use a big old diaper pin to pin the wallet inside my pocket, so I can unzip it to get what I need but don't worry about losing it.

I try not to carry a bag so my list has to be short. Someone in our group will take a phone. Personally I will have a tiny wallet, a sample size sunscreen, a small comb and a zip lock with a few bandaids, pain killer and Alka Seltzer.

I pack a bag but I keep it light, don't have much to mention that I haven't seen here. One thing I try to do (now that I have a child) is throw a hand towel from the hotel in the bottom of the stroller. Sometime a wipe it napkin just doesn't cut it! It works great for wiping up if it rains, wiping off sunscreen residue, brushing off sand, etc.

When I go, I take a cell phone, camera (if wanting to take pictures; also photographers will use your own camera), sunscreen, any medications you or anyone in your party may need, a Hydroflask for water (it worked wonders for me lat trip!), cash, credit card, ID, pens, notepad/autograph book, ponchos (if you buy a Disney poncho and it rips or something, they will replace it for free!). If you have kids or just traveling with people who are kids at heart, maybe something to pass the time when waiting for a parade, meet and greet, etc (ex: book, game, music, etc). If you have a magicband, bring that-if you purchase something at the parks with it, it can be sent to your room so you don't to carry it around all day. But really, just think about all the things you would absolutely need for a day and go have fun!

Just returned from a 10 night trip yesterday. Love my Body Glide, cheap ponchos, and new flip flops, but wasted my money on Frog Toggs, hats, personal misting fans, collapsible water bottles, portable wipes, portable hand sanitizer, and medical supplies! Although it was hot most of the trip, we didn't need any of the "beat-the-heat" supplies that are recommended so highly on these boards. Also just chilled about germs and we were fine.

umbrella, snacks, extra clothes

Works great if you are a guy but women's cargo shorts are a joke. The pockets are so shallow you can't even fit a cell phone in. I have been known to wear little boy cargo shorts but they kind of droop in the crotch.

Drooping in the crotch is ok, kids wear their pants droopy anyways these days

I take a backpack with me because I take a hoodie with me for TS restaurants, I get cold really easily (yes, even in July). I also have one of those disney misting fans that I put in my backpack when I'm not using it. Otherwise it's tylenol, cash/ID/AP/debit card, some tylenol, phone, external charger and probably a poncho.

I heard this years ago on "The View", but instead of face wipes use baby wipes. A quarter of the cost and doubly thick and softer! I like Huggies brand. I use them to remove my makeup every night, they are heaven sent!

Yes some will say you don't need it you can go to first aid. What if first aid is on the other side of the park and you just need a band aide?

We carry band aides, ibuprofen, benadryl and few other things my wife likes to carry like an epi pen.

Curious for people who bring all this kind of stuff - do you bring all this is you go to your local beach, mall, zoo for the day too? or is it just theme parks?

I take a lot more on a daytime beach trip (beach is about 7minute drive) including beach chair and beach bag filled with stuff. But I'm not carrying the stuff with me the whole day. Beach bag and supplies are carried in, parked next to chair, and carried back out...

I personally bring the following:
- Battery to recharge my phone + cable(s) needed. The cabloes were specifically purchased to charge in my bag while going around so really short.
- small towel usually a frosty towel to freshen up with.
- extra pair of socks of in a ziplock bag in case my feet get wet.
- chapstick
- backup magicband (we've had enough issues we get the new one + bring and old one with us).
- I'm a smoker so extra cigarettes and things to light them with in a ziplock bag in case it rains.

Things someone in the group has on them:
- Advil & Excedrine (usually me carrying, I'm the migraine sufferer).
- Sunscreen
- NuuN Tablets (flavored non-sugar electrolyte tablets to turn water into an electrolyte drink)
- camera (usually a gopro style camera)
- ponchos and umbrella (I don't like a poncho).
- hand sanitizer.

On my person I carry:
- wallet (AP pass, credit card, ID you need for AP discounts, whatever other discount things I have to bring), very empty wallet otherwise.
- mobile phone.

I use a micoolker bag which worked really well, fit really well in every pocket to hold your things in every ride, even the coasters. they also make a little larger one for bigger tablets that would be easy to hold a drink cup and/or water bottle if needed.

On this last trip I stopped bringing the following to the park:
- tablet (unless solo when it made a great news/ebook reader when dining or alone resting).

I wish I braught:

I saw a couple families carrying around small resort hand towels they were using to dry off with it being hot. I considered it a few times but kept forgetting one when I left the resort.

Sunglasses
Sunblock
Asthma meds
Kleenex
Cell phone
Lip balm
Cash/Credit Card/Wrist Band
ID
Mole Skin pre-cut into various sizes
Advil
Immodium
