Things you do in Orlando besides theme parks?

THANK YOU!

We spent a bit of time this weekend going over all the options and things mentioned.

The boys have decided on SeaWorld. Turns out they not only have the $50/day tickets but you can add a day for $10 more once you get there. That will work well for us, is cost efficient, and they haven't been to a SeaWorld since we lived in California in 2005 or so. They don't really remember it.

I would still be interested in a game room type place like DisneyQuest but for less $$. They are disappointed they won't be going to DQ this time around.

Those aren't any cheaper than purchasing one day Disney waterpark passes. I think if I can't find something for quite a bit less we would rather do Disney waterparks.

I think Aquatica is a better deal since you will be purchasing Sea World tickets. If you buy Sea World tickets with that $50 ticket deal you can add on Aquatica tickets for just an extra $25 per ticket. That is a lot cheaper than a day at a Disney waterpark.

Last time we were in the area about 90 minutes away was a great nature adventure park that had ziplining. We also did indoor skydiving in Orlando. One of the best deals is Discovery Cove- for the price you get an awesome all inclusive day in Discovery Cove plus TEN days of free admission to Sea World and Aquatica!

Thanks. That does look awesome, but I don't have the $250 per person, AND I only have a couple of extra days so I would only get 1 or two days out of the deal anyway.

Maybe next trip.

Thanks.

We are opting to do the 2nd day at SW for $10 more this time.

I don't really know why but after I posted I talked to the boys and they said they don't even want to do a waterpark. They used to love them. They want a game room though.

I haven't gone in Orlando but my kids favorite gatlinburg activity was the stupid gokarts:)

hahaha!

We have those here so I am trying to NOT let them do that!

I told them maybe we can find a game room for a couple of hours but I that is the only thing they can do that we can get at home too.

And I am only consenting to that because they are upset about us not doing DQ.

Could you just give them each a quarter roll and go visit one of the resort game rooms? They aren't great but then you could go get a soda and hang at the resort :)

Or beignets if you at pofq;)

yes, probably. I don't know if that will cut it, but I guess I can find out.

I can't believe how much they love Disney Quest.

Mine love it too. I've spent many afternoons upstairs while they spend forever at the racers, etc

They were more disappointed about not going to DQ than they were about only getting one day in the Disney parks!

Isn't that funny?! You just never know. My kids favorite things last trip were weohp, dhs because of the tot and rrc, and dq.

I forget, did you consider gator land? It always cracks me up! I got cheap tickets from sky auction last trip.

I am not sure if we have time, although I think I have a Saturday free.

Is it worth it?

Thanks for mentioning that. I knew you could do a package deal, and the Aquatica tix were cheap when you added on. Sorry, op, I thought you already knew.

I did see that when I went to check out.
The boys don't want to do that now so we are good.

Cheaper to add the 2nd day for $10

Hi, If you are interested in a BEACH day on the WEST coast of FL,Siesta Key,BEAUTIFUL white sand that never gets hot. Or go a little farther down the coast to Venice Beach,SHARK tooth capital of the World. BOTH beautiful areas to spend the day. About 1 1/2 to 2 hours from WDW. It is a very easy drive. I have done it multiple times. We are hoping to relocate to Venice so we have been visiting Sarasota and Venice this past year,if you have any ??? 's just ask :) Joan

I don't know if these suggestions were given but I will still share mine.
Dave & Busters on International Drive is quite fun. Good games for the kids, and dining and drinks for the adults. Kobe Japanese Steakhouse is a favorite of my family. There are multiple locations throughout Orlando. The various outlets are worth checking out. I'm sure the boys would enjoy the Nike outlet. I think a day strolling down International Drive, or taking the trolley is always enjoyable. Then Downtown Disney is a half day in itself.

Hope this helped.

Thank you all.

The more I think about the arcade stuff the more I think I will just tell the boys I will take them HERE locally when we get back. I just can't see spending an afternoon at Dave and Buster's in Orlando when we have one of those right here!

If our hotel ends up having one, I may let them do some things there during some down time, otherwise, I think we will skip that.

I would love to do Kennedy Space Center but yowza it is pricey! And yes, they allow a return 2nd day, but we don't have it available in our schedule and it isn't exactly close to Disney. Maybe if they have their BOGO special again sometime we can go.

I think we have it figured out now. I may add in a Gatorland if we have time, maybe on a Saturday. Our weekdays are now planned: Universal, Disney, Seaworld x2, and Legoland. Total cost per person is $108 for the week! :cheer2:

Yes, we will also do Downtown Disney for a while and probably have ice cream or Earl sandwiches.
