OK, we are going to be at BCV for the 1st time in Jan. So with that in mind what are some must-dos while there. Bear in mind we have never even been inside of BC or YC.

Have an ice cream concotion at Beaches and Cream.
Read the story about Storm -a-long Bay on the board by the entrance and then go down the slide.
Go to the Calm Bake at Cape May Cafe and/or the character breakfast.
Have a great dinner at Yacht'smans Steakhouse.
Take a water mouse out of the Marina.
Walk into EPCOT through the international gateway and say," How close to my resort was that!!"
Watch Illuminations from your villa if you can get one facing EPCOT.
Meet Art the Greeter in the BC lobby during the week and tell him what a pleasure and and honor it is to meet him.

Beaches n Cream by SAB, the ice cream is excellent

SAB if the weather is warm enough

We like Cape May's Character Breakfast buffet, if you go be sure to get Dorothy as your server, she's great

I've heard Yachtsman's Steakhouse is good, I want to try it next time we go

Walking around the Boardwalk is really nice, and good to do to walk off your ice cream from BnC ;)

enjoy your stay, we did

Some evening, after dark, go out on the beach in front (back? Whatever side faces BWV) and sit for a while in one of those swings on the beach. Take off your shoes, "squish" your toes in the sand and watch all the lights on the Boardwalk and on the ferryboats. Ahh....if I close my eyes I can imagine!

That is EXACTLY what I was going to say....it's just SOOO peaceful!!! You might even bring a glass of wine with you out there (don't know if that is allowed or not....stick it in your purse and pour it when you are out there).

Plan to be sitting at SAB one evening while Illuminations is going off (if they will let you in the pool complex that late in Jan). Lay in a lounge chair and see Illuminations over the BEAUTIFUL pool and hotel....it is amazing!!!!

He is the best. I loved to walk in the lobby everyday just for that.

Thanks for all the great ideas folks!

We actually had him sign our girls' autograph book last trip. He wrote the nicest message to them. We had them take a photo with him, since we attach our photos next to the autographs. He is a celebrity in his own right!

I also want to mention taking the boat for transportation either across to the Boardwalk or out to MGM. (I don't mention Epcot because the walk is so short!) It's fun to have so many options for traveling to the parks from BCV.

You can buy donuts and other baked goods at the Boardwalk Bakery.

Breakfast at Fresh in the Dolphin, Spoodles on BW, and CM in BC are all very good.

B&C and the new marketplace are good for quick bites, check out the re-fillable mugs if it makes sense.

So i don't just talk about food, you can check out the turtles in the canal from the bridge. Haven't seen the alligator in some time.

Hi,

Go to Beaches & Cream to eat. Try to go early as it gets busy & you can't make a PS.

Enjoy Cape May & Stormalong Bay!!

Enjoy the walk to Epcot & MGM!

Here's my must do list..................Sit and talk about how much you miss staying at VWL! :teeth: Then really rub it in, and drive over to the Lodge for lunch! That's what DH and I did while we stayed at BCV.

and here's a couple of more things...
Eat at Beaches and Cream
I think that your kids are old enough to enjoy the slide(if its warm enough)
Rent a Surrey Bike and ride around the Boardwalk in the evening. Our kids really enjoyed it (of course they weren't old enough to have to pedal!).
and once you've done all that ..... have that conversation again "BCV are pretty nice....but.... they just don't compare to the Lodge!" ;) (No nasty comments from BCV lovers please! I'm just joking (sort of)!

Stroll over behind the Swan to the Fantasia Gardens mini golf!

1. Hot tub near the quiet pool

2. Check out the alligator in the water, if he's still there.

3. Picture with Ariel Statue.

Definately the Hot Tub!!!!

Just thought of another-go to the new Beach Club Marketplace and get some gelato (and maybe a coconut chocolate chip square).

When you meet someone staying in YC or BC, ask them how much they paid for their room and try not to snicker. :rotfl2:

Hang out by the fence at SAB and heckle the BWVers on Surreys with "We can swim at your pool, but you can't swim in ours!

Go swimming in the lake. :fish:

And finally, walk all the way through Epoct to check out OUR Leave a Legacy tiles. :worship:

walk to epcot for dinner.

watch the illuminations fireworks from the bridge

jog around the bay from YC/BC to Swan/Dolphin to BW back to YC/BC then jump in the quiet pool to cool off.

get a banana split from B&C

take an early morning stroll to Boardwalk Bakery for coffee and pastry.

Man, you guys have got some really cool ideas here. We might just have to book another trip to BCV soon(that is if we arent pining too much for our beloved VWL, right ErinC ;) )

In all seriousness, thanks for all the ideas. You know, when you 1st try a new resort, it seems hard to always do and see all the things that set that resort apart from the others. This way, we can at least give it a try at doing all of them, knowing them up front.
