Things to do with a 4 year old

Hi. We're planning our first trip to Disney December 5-10, 2007. Our daughter will be 4. Since I've never been there, I have no idea what to do, where to go, or what to see. She wants to see Cinderella. We're probably staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I have no idea what a fast pass is or where to get one. I also need some good restaurant ideas for a picky eater. Am I right that there are 4 parks? What's the difference? Is one better than the other? None of us like roller coasters or anything with big hills.

You really need to just keep reading up on the DIS. Also try ALLEARSNET.COM. That's a great site for all your info. You can also get the Unofficial GUIDE and Passporter, those are 2 great books for anyone who's new to Disney.

As far as parks go, all of them are great. All have things for everyone.
You can eat in the castle with Cindy, belle, Sleeping Beauty, Mary Poppins. You need to make your reservations EARLY!! 180 days out. The sooner you plan the better you will be. Honestly though, you need to be as informed as possible, and just go and have fun!

Where to start... When DD was about that age, we had breakfast in the castle on the first day, then spent a lot of time in Fantasyland.

Take a look at Magic Kingdom -> Fantasyland. I'm sure you'll have more questions then.

As mentioned, www.allearsnet.com is also good -- there you can find menus for most of the restaurants.

Buy the Unofficial Guide to WDW and read it, you'll learn a ton about the rides!

I think your daughter would enjoy all four parks, but the main one that you will spend most time at is the Magic Kingdom. There's basically too much info you need for one post. You need to buy the Unofficial Guide.

Two guide books -

1. Fodors Disneyworld With Kids. Very informative.
2. Birnbaum's Disneyworld With Kids. It's the best kids guide out there. It gives you overviews, height requirements, etc.

If your dd wants to meet Cinderella, go to Toontown Fair in the MK and go to the Meet The Characters tent. Get in line for Princesses. Cindy is usually there. Cinderellabration will be over by the time you go.

Do not hang around here until you go do some research at wdwig.com or from a book. Then come back. Otherwise, you will be hopelessly confused.

The great thing about Disney, that four year olds can ride so many of the rides, and do so much!

When we go to theme parks closer to us, they are geared towards taller kids, but my four year old could do so much at Disney!

Just read read read the disboards, and you will learn so much.

For you dining questions, the best place to look is allearsnet. This website has menus for the table service and counter service restaurants at the parks and the resorts.

For information on the parks, I definitely recommend that you get some of the guidebooks that the other posters mentioned. Besides one of the guides for WDW with kids, I also recommend buying the Unofficial Guide so that you can get additional info about the parks. Also, spend a lot of time going through allearsnet.
