Things to do in Palm Springs

We're planning a little vacation... Starting in Anaheim so we can see Disney, San Diego for Sea World and then will be spending 2 days in Palm Springs... Just wondering what we can do in Palm Springs... DS5 and DD2. Any suggestions that are not amusement parks??

Well it is extremely hot there in summer, all dessert. No amusement parks. It has shopping and golf courses. Not much for little children that I am aware of. Hope this helps you a little bit. Jo

I think you will want to swim a lot. Also the aerial tramway DS5 will probably like this a lot as will yourself.

The San Jacinto aerial tramway is nice. You go up to the top of the mountain where it is about 40 degrees cooler and pine trees.

You are also pretty close to Joshua Tree National Park.

We stayed in Yucca Valley in July, and went to Palm Springs for the day, it was 130 degrees, so we did not spend the day there as it was much to hot.
Not a lot to do either, we went to Joshua tree NP , as we where staying beside an entrance to it, but not much there when you have 2 very young children, lots of walking trails, but not for young children

There is a water park but I've heard it's not all that great.

Hmmm... I saw on line there is a horse crawn carriage tour. Anyone checked that out? Looks kinda neat on line...

There is a water park in Palm Springs - it was a great way to cool off from the desert sun

The Knotts Soak City in Palm Springs is nice, but honestly when it is over 110 degrees out, it is TOO hot to enjoy. At least for my family. By 1PM we were dehydrated little sun fried exhausted people trying to pretend to have fun.

It was 118 the day we were there, but even a waterpark wasn't fun. Perhaps late in the day?

The Living Desert Zoo is very nice, but get there at opening before the animals have found a shady spot and are motionless.
