Anything unique to see or do in NH for kids dd11 and dd8. Wanting a quick stop of something to see or do while driving thru NH.

Thanks!

It definitely depends on what time of year, what part of the state you'll be going through, and whether you want to be inside, outdoors, etc.

The seacoast is great, but the swimming is a bit cold. The seacoast science center is neat to stop at, and Portsmouth is fun to rxplore.

Lots of fun stops in NH...

Lost River Gorge in N. Woodstock, or Polar Caves in Rumney, near Plymouth, NH. As a child, I always loved climbing through, and exploring the caves, especially at Lost River.

The Alpine slide at Attitash in Bartlett is fun.

I'm not sure when these places open for the season.

Have a good trip.

Strawberry Banke in Portsmouth is a neat little historical village, and there are good eats and shopping in town.

We did a waterfall hiking tour in the North Conway area; there are maps at the National Park station. Driving the Kankamangus Highway is beautiful, especially in autumn.

I miss the Old Man in the Mountain. It was always one of our favorite stops when passing through on the way to Canada.

Re - bolded - unless your kid gets car sick! :)

This time of year is a good time to see moose on the Kancamangus!

Can you do the Busch tour without the Brewery tour? Thinking about seeing the Clydesdales as one stop.

Mt. Washington- as long as you're not afraid of heights!

They'd probably be too old for Story Land?

Squam Lakes Natural Science Center, ride on the Mount Washington, FunSpot, (all in the Lakes region) hiking everywhere.

A lot!

Happy to help if you provide more information. Here are some faves of my kids (mine are 11 and 9 so close in age to yours):

-Santa's Village - way up north. (Christmas themed amusement park) This is a sentimental trip for us and they love the ability to ride even small coasters over and over with small lines. Every year I think it is the last year and my 11 year old just put Santa's Village at the top of his summer "must do" list.

- lots of hiking (trails vary) The Flume is quite impressive (costs $). Mt. Washington is also impressive.

- Chutters - largest candy counter in the world. (up north)

- Out on the coast is so much from the typical beachy things to the wonderful science center.

- Great minor league baseball right in Manchester with the Fisher Cats. Cheap tickets and they usually have fireworks after the game. There is a lot to do in Manchester depending on their interests.

I hope you enjoy our beautiful state!

Yep. I used to work there and the barn & brewery tours were two separate tours.

I haven't been in a bit but the brewery tour wasn't bad if you have boys in love with machines and how things work.

They serve Pepsi products and pretzels so my kids loved having a soda and pretzels while the adults sampled beer. (We "pooled" our free samples and all got something different so we had a fun taste test.)

They just built a huge outlet shopping center right across the highway from the brewery.
