We are flying into Milwaukee to go to the Packers Monday Night game on December 19th. We will have most of Sunday in Milwaukee, staying the night in Two Rivers, and then spend Monday in Green Bay. It will be myself, DH, and our son and son-in-law who are 22 and 24. I typically book some sort of food tour when going somewhere new, but it doesn't look like many are running during cold December, lol. The boys really want to just try some local food and beer. I've tried trip advisor, but haven't had much luck. Anyone have any suggestions??

What type of food are you looking for? There is some great German food and a few other really good restaurants in and around Milwaukee. Odd Duck and Old German Beer Hall are two of my favorites along with Cafe Hollander. AJ Bombers might be the best burger in town and Kopp's Custard is a local legend.

Enjoy Lambeau, if you've got the time visit the Ariens sledding hill across the street along with Hinterland Brewing.

Thanks for the suggestions! My son-in-law is insisting on cheese curds?!? And I think everyone would enjoy some German food. We will have all day in Green Bay!

One of the best Tiki Bars in the country: The Foundation Bar. Don makes all his own infused rums, spices, syrups, juices, etc., and uses authentic drink recipes from throughout the years.

Just go.

This is perfect!! We love tiki bars and rum. Definitely going there! Thanks so much!
Fried cheese curds or fresh?
I have no idea!! What do you suggest?

Pretty much do everything they did on the Laverne & Shirley opening credits.

Fried cheese curds are what most people think of as cheese curds. This is what you get at a restaurant or drive-in. AJ Bombers is one place that has great fried cheese curds, Black Sheep is another. Fresh cheese curds are exactly that, freshly made curds of cheese that will squeak when you bite into them if they are really fresh. The best places to get these are usually at small dairies, I'm partial to Widmer's Cheese Cellar in Theresa or Union Star Dairy in Weyauwega. Full disclosure, my wife went to high school with the owner of Union Star.

Doesn’t sound like you are into museums but the Milwaukee art museum is on the lake and gorgeous. It has wings that open every day at a certain time. And that area is a beautiful drive. Moders is a world famous German restaurant. Safe House is in an alley snd is like an old speakeasy. Lots of fun.

The Packing House

The Packing House is a traditional Wisconsin supper club. It is located across the street on the north end of Milwaukee's Mitchell Airport We came upon it back in 1999 when we flew to WDW from Milwaukee. We are 15 minutes from O'Hare in suburban Chicago, but often have flown out of Milwaukee, so much easier.

It is a great restaurant. We now go there for special occasions. Our last visit there was for our 5oth anniversary, just about a year ago. We really enjoy it there.

Lots of breweries, Lake Front Brewery has great cheese curds. They also do a tour. If you enjoy cocktails Bryant’s is nice, there is no menu, the bartenders ask you what you like and make a drink based on your answers.

Could be a typo but I think that it’s Maders

I will add that it is an excellent restaurant. I am of Bohemian descent and love the cuisine.

Brewery tour. Lakefront Brewery or Miller. Free beer at the end. Harley museum. Iron Horse Hotel near Harley museum has local faire.
Areas for food and fun:
Eastside
Third ward
Fifth ward

Don’t forget to order an old fashioned.

…and it’s Mader’s.

Go Pack go.
