So, I'm trying to come up with some very budget friendly ways of doing something special for my future DH during our wedding/honeymoon trip.

So far I have a handmade card and customized maps with his favs..

What have you done in the past?

Thanks! :goodvibes

I made up a few tshirts for him and for his groom's gift i booked him the Segway tour he has been dying to go on but that is a little more expensive.

Tie a ribbon around your waist and stick a bow on your head

I had shirts made for DF and I to wear, and I'd like to do the "Lunch With An Imagineer" but so far it's booked solid :headache:

:rotfl2: That was my first thought too!

Something DH did for me on our anniversary trip that you could do for him was to give me a card every day with a different homemade coupon in it for something like a back rub or cooking him his favorite dinner or a date night or get-out-of-dishes-free card, etc. He hid them around the room for me to find each morning before we left - it was really sweet!

:rotfl2: I should have known what I was getting myself into!!! Well the egg is all over my face now!! Durh!! Oh well! :rotfl2: You have to laugh at yourself sometimes!!!

I like the ideas so far!! We'd both LOVE to do the dining with an Imagineer.. But that booking thing..

This is what I want. Dessert in bed sounds fantastic the DF doesn't need that I do!

Lol! I thought of it because one time my best friend and I went on a trip to Disney and we had the dining plan- we had so much food we couldnt eat our cheesecakes so we brought them back to the hotel room. The next day we woke up and ate them in our beds- it was AMAZING!!! :goodvibes

...Putting this on both my "To Do" and "To Eat" lists for the next trip.... :rotfl:

I will have a little secret money saved up and i am thinking of doing something really special...i like this - it sounds interesting - but what is it? Can someone help me a little on this? Or anything similar?

:rotfl2: That was my first thought too!

I like this idea too- as well as my secret stash of play money to spend on him, i want to do meaningfull things like this- as this is kinda what we do all the time, sending letters and notes to each other!

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel these poor guys get the short end of the stick here? ;) I know as women, we get manicures, pedicures, buy new clothes to wear on our honeymoons, usually buy new jewelry to wear for our ceremony...the list goes on. Then we say, hey, lets do something for him...maybe a card? :lmao: I think we need to step it up gals... and I'm with you in that I'm LOST on ideas. My DP isn't frilly, and thinks very logically, so I'm really in the same boat as you all. Let's really think on this one. I know most of these guys and my gal are SO willing to let us have OUR day. They'll put on uncomfortable suits, take a ton of pictures, some are even gonna wear those goofy bride & groom mickey ears! ( I love them too, but DP isn't thrilled at doing it!) Sooo, for all their efforts and all the selfless acts of kindness on their part, I think we owe it to them to come up with some great ideas. We can do this!:grouphug:

Totally agree, I'm getting mine the Richard Petty Driving experience as I know he really wants to do that.

It's been a while back, but if you want to splurge you can do like I did. I rented my husband a corvette convertable for 3 days. I had it valeted the day we were getting married and the valets called up to the room and told him there was an issue with his car and he needed to come down right away. He told me when they handed him the keys he said that's not my car and then when the valets explained that I had dropped it off for him he immediately got in and took it for a spin.

Here is one company you could use:

I will try to post a picture later. We actually wound up using the Vette for our transportation and let our family use the limo. :)

On the less expensive side, I got DH new mickey cufflinks and mickey dress socks to wear the day of the wedding. He may never wear the cufflinks again unless we do a VR or when our baby boy gets married in about 30 years :rotfl: but he loved that he had something special and he does wear the mickey socks all the time - i know because he tells me almost every time he wears them :thumbsup2 Just last week he told me he really didn't want to get out of bed that morning, so he wore his mickey socks to perk him up :lovestruc

For something just a little bit more money, maybe a searacer rental or book a special basket or something to be delivered to your room for him.

I got DFi cufflinks. I wanted him to have something unique. I ended up finding some lovely ones. They are mickey's but the center is a watch. I think I only paid $20 for them on ebay. I also saw a pirate pocketwatch he might like and it's only $10 on ebay.

He's also going to have a choice of having lightsabers or pirate swords at the reception. I know that he and his friends and the little kids would enjoy having them to play with.

I also always plan one day to be his day. He decides where we go that day and what we do. Which is a big thing for me to give up control of any sort of planning.

Breakfast in bed? Or even better dessert in bed?

Oh! Oh! Oh! We have Palo booked for brunch the day after the wedding, I believe I read somewhere that with concierge level you can have it delivered to your room! This would be perfect! :thumbsup2

They have a Bentley, and frankly this would be his ULTIMATE dream! Now to figure out how to accomplish this..... What evil plans do I need to put in place... :rotfl2:

I was definitley thinking about a basket. The socks idea is great too! He'll be wearing short sleeves for the ceremony, otherwise the cufflinks would be fantastic!

OMG!! I actually bought DF a lightsaber for Christmas last year! :rotfl: Yes we are that geeky! I'm off to check Ebay out!

Thank you ladies for all of your suggestions and help! :thumbsup2
