Maybe terrified is too strong a word, but when I was young we did those bomb drills in school, and that was a bit concerning. Oh and monsters of course!

At one point my town issued a warning that “a man in a white van” was seen trying to talk to children and to be on alert. I 100% believed I was about to be kidnapped the moment I set foot outdoors. I remember sprinting from our house to our car in case anyone tried to pop up and take me in our driveway lol
