Things I wish were in villa...

We just returned from 10 glorious nights of record high weather @ SSR. It was so beautiful!

One thing I thought was weird...

no pizza cutters in the villas. Couldn't even get them from mousekeeping, and the stores in DTD, and every park kitchen section we checked were out. Pizza is one staple for us in the villas to give the kids (we usually do take out or room service).

We've also taken to always carrying a corkscrew, but I noticed that this unit had one, not sure if that is common or if it was a leftover from someone else?

I wouldn't mind having one of those little tubs that you soak your feet in that has the jacuzzi motor in the studios. I think they are about 1 foot square. I have no idea what these are called, but I want one just for Disney!


I'd also like digital music channels like I have on my home digital cable, and maybe a cable channel that has a camera or something that shows the locations of the boats headed to and from the Boardwalk Villas with an ETA.

How about some normal cable channels?

We have little kids who occasionally go to bed early (when we don't have them at P&P or EMH until midnight and it would be nice to have something to watch!

Oh yeah, and I also want the Mickey Gloves oven mitts that I've seen in the gift shops. Of course, too many of these would "accidentally" get packed in suitcases, so maybe not.

I agree about the Pizza Cutters!

I purchased a Mickey Pizza Cutter and Whisk at the SSR store and I keep them in our Owners Locker. Hard to cut pizza with a knife when you are used to a cutter.

I've always had a wine opener provided in our rooms, even in studios.

This is an excellent idea! A display showing the ETA for the buses would be helpful, too.

Don't know how many others do this but at home we cut our pizza with kitchen shears (assuming it's uncut). Do the villas come equipped with scissors, I never really noticed? Beats having to buy or bring a pizza cutter. If you're ordering take out or room service, isn't the pizza cut already?

We didn't have a scissors either.

We really use our kitchen in the villas. We always eat breakfast in the room and usually we pack a lunch for the kids in the park. Dinners we eat out about every other night. This trip there were 13 of us and two different people went to the grocery store and both accidentally bought 6 frozen pizzas, for a five night stay . We ate A LOT of pizza! A pizza cutter just seems like a no-brainer to me, since they sell frozen pizzas in the little stores at DVC, and since it is technically a knife, not something I'd think to put in a suitcase - until now! We now own a Mickey pizza cutter to go in our DVC tote that we take back and forth, but we spent five days searching every store on property to find it!

I couldn't agree more! The cable choices are so limited, I go alone very often and would love to sit down and watch some decent tv in the evening.
It is my biggest complaint, my only complaint, really, with DVC. I'm not a huge tv watcher but when I do want to watch I'd love more choices.

I'd love Fox news channel, and free internet....don't think either would impact our dues maybe a dollar per year.

Me too! How about adding some of the fairly basic non-Disney owned cable channels?

Voting for the decent cable stations too! DD10 and I were there last month and she got a stomache bug so we were in the room much more than usual. If I had to listen to Hannah Montanna or Suite Life any more I might have done something drastic! I did resort to going to the gift shop and purchase Ratouelle (sp?) because I couldn't take it anymore. I did look at what they had for rentals but I'd seen most of them 100 times over.

More hooks! Towel hooks, robe hooks, PJ hooks.

The BWV have a couple, but they're more decorative than functional. IIRC, HH had some, but still not enough.

Haven't stayed at any other resorts.

Another vote for more cable channels. And internet connections in both the bedroom and the lving room at AKV. While I am at it, how about wireless access in the villas?
