I've always wondered the same thing??
Why not 11 or 15 minutes?
Stupid clocks. . .

Why the snooze function is always 9 minutes.
Ours is 7 minutes! That really is a rip off!

Why DH can just get up from his chair (or the sofa) and go straight to bed. I have 50 things to do before going to bed.

I think young kids probably spend more time in the car than in the past, riding to day care and scheduled activities. Parents work more hours and generally have busier, more stressful lives. Of course none of that is an excuse. When I was growing up, car seats didn't exist and parents would often hold babies and toddlers. Hard to forget them when they're sitting on your lap.
And why would any GUY want to (unless you're at the beach, and a few other exceptions) what if a pickup football breaks out? What if you need to chase down a perp and perform a citizens arrest, what if the zombie appocalypse breaks out?????How does anyone walk in flip flops? I seriously don't have the right coordination to manage.

When I first started driving my parents forbid me to drive in flip-flops... Doesn't seem like a big deal except that I grew up around Tampa! All I had were flip-flops and dress shoes(fancy flip-flopsI can walk in them, but I hate driving in them. The edge too easily gets caught under the brake pedal.
)I remember one friend from my younger days who would just kick his flip flops halfway under his seat and drive barefoot, though I know it's not recommended.I can walk in them, but I hate driving in them. The edge too easily gets caught under the brake pedal.

That's all I wear. Can't remember the last time I had shoes on. I kick them off when driving as the sandal tends to get caught between the clutch and the brake. And why would any GUY want to (unless you're at the beach, and a few other exceptions) what if a pickup football breaks out?
