Things DisUnplugged Should Talk About on their Podcast

I'm not going to go on and on because I feel like I'm beating a dead horse and I know you're all sick of reading about my runDisney obsession, but there is one last thing that I want to say.

One of the things I love about runDisney races is one of the things we all love about Disney in general - they're so inclusive. I'm by no means a runDisney expert, but I've done 3 rD races over two race weekends, and I've paid attention to other participants. There are participants who finish before I even start the race (because I tend to start in a later corral), and participants who finish quite a bit after I do (and I take a long time on these races). There are participants who have done many other races (both Disney and non-Disney) and participants who are doing their first race. There are participants who are skinnier than me and participants who are heavier than me. There are participants that are older than me and participants that are younger than me. There are participants who love running, and participants who run for the bling. runDisney participants are such a diverse group, and I really don't think you can lump them all into one age/shape/fitness obsession.

I have full confidence that every single member of the podcast team could train to walk or run a runDisney race (unless someone has a health condition for which that much walking/running is counterindicated ... in which case, they really shouldn't). There are members of the team who could probably do a runDisney race tomorrow. I'm not saying they all have to do a runDisney race (not everyone is interested in walking/running a race, and that's perfectly fine), but I know of no reason why anyone on the team couldn't.

That said ... the team will cover what they think is most important when they think it is important to cover it. I think they know from this thread (and a few others that have been started recently) that there are a few of us who want them to talk more about runDisney, including mentioning registration dates. Whether or not they do that is up to them. We've put the request out there, and now it's up to the team to decide if it's important enough to spend a few minutes on it.

I have to say, it was great to hear JL mention the Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend and Lumiere's Two Course Challenge on today's Daily Fix!

There was definitely more that could have been said (like when the races actually are), but I think that it was really great that she mentioned the addition of the new race and challenge. Hopefully people who might not have known about the new race/challenge will now look for a little more information about the race weekend and maybe even sign up (not that Wine & Dine needs any help selling out fast).

Huge props to JL and the team for giving us a little bit of that runDisney coverage that we (okay, I) so desperately want!!

I'm glad to hear that runDisney got a little attention. Sorry it was on the Fix and not on the podcast but that's a start.

I don't listen to the Fix, though I would if they would put it on the podcast feed, but they've already said they aren't going to do that.

I definitely think it would get more exposure on the podcast (I know you're not the only one who doesn't have the time/ability to watch the daily fix videos every day and would like a downloadable audio version), but something is better than nothing, and I'm happy with what we got.

And just fyi, if you're ever curious about what they're talking about on the Daily Fix, if you go to the Daily Fix page (http://www.wdwinfo.com/dailyfix/) they have links to articles about the things they mention on that day. And that includes a link to the runDisney blog article about the race.

I appreciated JL giving my article a shout out on the daily fix earlier this week. It was on the topic of rundisney as well!

I may have to start listening again if I can remember. I listened when it started but was finding that pretty much everything they talked about ended up on the Tuesday show anyway. If they are now doing more content unique to the Fix, that's more appealing - though the lack of the podcast feed is still a big hurdle since 99% of my DIS listening happens in the car.

I watch it during my lunch at school. It's 4-5 minutes that is easy enough to watch. The podcasts I save for after school. They usually feature at least one article from the DIS and one thread from the boards.

I have looked in the archives and could not find, but is there a recent Ohana review?
