Thinking of becoming a DVC member. I just got back from a three night stay the a Polynesian (12/8 - 12/11) and saw the DVC store while hanging around Main street. I have yet to go to the sales pitch session. I prefer hearing about something after getting some background info first....which I have done by visiting this board. I have a few more questions and I would appreciate feedback on them when people have time to respond.
1) Does it matter what "home" resort I choose, other then being able to book 11 months in advance ?
2) I have almost two year twins and staying at resort along the original monorail makes it easier to go to and from the Magic Kingdom. If I intend to stay at one of these resorts is DVC still worthwhile ? ie Are the points cost weighted more towards the non DVC resorts ?
3) I am trying to figure out my break even point, and not sure of all the cost associated with a DVC. I know I have to pay $75 a point (150 minimum) and some monthly dues ($50 ?). Is there anything else ?
4) I have never stay at any of the DVC resorts, will the DVC people pay for me to stay 1 or 2 night at one of them and check them out as part of their sales pitch ?
5) I see references to "AP" which I guess stands for annual pass. Can I get the annual pass because I am a DVC member or because I own "real estate" in FLA ?
6) Regaring buying from a reseller or via Disney...If the best I can do is $70-$74 a point via a reseller should I go through Disney ? At what cost per point is it better to go with a reseller ?
I am sure I will have more questions later...
