THEY'RE NOT GONNA MAKE IT! A tale from 2 cities!! THE END! pg 32

Instead I had this

Minus the bread of course. It was very good!

I ended up having to use a counter service credit for it so I also got one of these babies

A chocolate covered marshmellow stick which I did not end up eating at all the entire trip :rotfl2:

Mom went with the cheesey pesto bread

She loved it and had it again later in the week!

We chose to sit in the Finding Nemo area

Then it was time to hike to our room. Our one major complaint about this resort was how far away our room was. If you have small kids that aren't in a stroller but get tired and have to be carried by the end of the day do not go to this resort! I am a runner and I was tired walking back and forth to the main building to our room! I think it had to have been at least a mile away :headache:

It does look cool though...

Once we trekked through the Magic Kingdom and Epcot to get to our room we had to take pictures.

I know a lot of families with children take pictures of their room first thing because they mess it up quickly well that's why we do it too :lmao: Mom and I can mess up a hotel room pretty quickly!

The room decor was adorable!

I loved the grotto part of the tub!

Even the table was decorated!

I have a feeling he got teased a lot

We set our stuff down and headed out!

Anytime we walked past Ursula I missed my grandma :lmao: That sounds bad doesn't it?! When I was younger we used to play Little Mermaid in her condo swimming pool and she was always Ursula so we have always made fun of her for that.

We trekked through the jungle

Saw one of my favorite villians. I like him because he is just a huge jerk but has the best voice ever :lmao: Might also explain my love of Darth Vader

Hakuna Matata

The entrance to the family suites.

Mufasa "Simba you are more than what you have become" That movie is seriously so wise on more than one level. Great life lessons learned from that movie.

Let's get a close up on the royalty

Now if you have seen pictures of this resort you may be wondering where is Rafiki. Well Rafiki was busy being climbed on by every child in Florida. It was ridiculous how many kids were on him each time was passed by we even saw a guy place his baby on Rafiki's arm for a picture. I always found him a bit crazy and wouldn't let my child near him but for each their own I guess :confused3 Plus there was the issue of the no climbing signs but ya know Disney only put that there as a suggestion

Finally it was time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was going to May the 4th at Disney :worship::worship::worship: For those of you that don't know I am a huge fan of Star Wars. I am actually typing this update next to my Darth Vader lego clock ;) I watched all of the movies back to back in preparation for this day!

After buying our tickets I headed in to find the special merchandise while Mom was stuck in line due to a ticket malfunction.

Passed some Streetmosphere actors

Is it bad that we are so used to Disney it's like oh yeah of course someone would be taped to a wall in DHS?

Unfortunately there were no special pins left or the shirt Mom wanted to get for Dad. We went to check out the Chewbacca line to see if an Ewok was with him but no dice. Then we checked out the line for the Fab Four in their Star Wars wear. The line was huge but after some trepidation we got into it. Soon after we saw this

Yes those are stormtroopers. THERE ARE STORMTROOPERS WALKING AROUND DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!! That's basically how I acted towards it. I am such a geek y'all don't even know

Even the stage was set up special

Then there was the cutest sight ever

After waiting in the heat in line for what seemed like forever chatting with the person ahead of us about how this is nothing crowd wise compared to Star Wars Weekends we were up! Also the park was packed my dreams of Star Wars Weekends has died because we are not crowded park people.

Right before we got up though we saw a special sight... All four of the fab four out together!!!!!!!!! The CM told us that he has never seen this before they don't even let them out together during Star Wars weekends!

Idk if you can tell how excited I was but I was very excited.

Mom then got in on the action.

Then we had to figure out what to do next.

Looks like we went on GMR but we didn't! We went to One Man's Dream instead.

I think Disney should cash in on Walt is my homeboy t shirts...Disney in advance you're welcome.

I can't wait to see this in person in 85 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was so stoked at this point to see this in person!

I hope to see this someday

I get to see this in 85 days!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite park icon

Mom was very excited to ride this!

There's grandma

Idk if she is reading this but I am pretty sure when she is angry she can get like this

Then back outside! I am so excited to see this movie I was telling Andrew last night we are seeing this when it comes out!

Of course the line for TSM was out to China so we didn't bother.

Then we noticed a bounty hunter nearby

Jango Fett everybody!!

I love him and his son even though his son's death was the most idiotic death in any of the Star Wars movies.

Then we saw a storm trooper

We continued along and ran into a clone trooper

EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Little did I know we would end up here later in the week

But for now it was Muppet time!

No one was there but luckily this was under the mat

We watched it for the millionth time and headed out. We need Jason Seagal to write a new Muppet 3d movie!

Then we headed to dinner and saw a certain princess on our way. Now I enjoyed seeing most of the characters but a lot of them were walking around with no real lines. With the Storm Troopers and Clone Troopers and Jango Fett it was fine but with Leia it was a pain!!!!! So many kids cutting and her going to whoever she wanted to made it a very long wait.

I didn't quite think it was worth it but there is the pic. At least I can say I met her.

Well I think I sufficiently introduced you to what a geek I am so I will leave ya here with us on our way to dinner.

Next up!
My first time eating gluten free at Disney!

Such great pictures - I love that you got the fab 4 all together!

Looking at your pics, the sky seems to have gone from very threatening to mostly sunny. Phew - for a while I thought your first Star Wars day was going to get soaked!

Thank you! We were very excited to see them!

Luckily we didn't have any rain that interfered with our Disney plans!

Wow, great start to your trip! Love all of the pictures from AOA. My dad and I visited there on our trip but I didn't feel like walking down by the Little Mermaid section so I'm glad to see your pictures. The room is really cute!

The colors are so bright, the artwork amazing ans ah! The food court!! I didn't know you were gluten free! Is that by choice or sid an allergy pop up? (If you dont mind me asking that is) i just went dairy free these last few weeks and it's killing me!! Though i feel a ton better!! Lol Awwe! Love that the marshmallows came on a Mickey straw! Yum! Cheesey pesto bread! Sounds like my kinda thing!uuugh! I miss our Little Mermaid room so much! Ah! Thats a different Eric picture! Love it!! Everyone should be required to go through there! You guys got some awesome star wars stuff/characters done!! Awesome! Not so grest about Leia's "line" though, thats weird!! Yay for the first installmet of updates

It was a great start to what ended up being the best trip ever! Yeah the Little Mermaid is a bit of a walk to get too I don't blame you for not checking it out :rotfl:

We got very lucky!

Thank you! I appreciate you sending Detroit my regards!

We did!

Welcome! Thank you!

It is a cute area but the walk is not worth it :rotfl:

I am glad I am not alone in the coloring and Disney channel love!

It is a great resort!

I am actually allergic to gluten. I have always had stomach issues and a lot fo the symptoms that come with being gluten intolerant so I tried going without it for two weeks and now whenever I have gluten or wheat products I have terrible allergies and a sore throat and everything so I stopped eating it entirely.

Yea I wish I had eaten the marshmallows just to get the straw :rotfl:

I know when I walked into the room I was surprised the picture of Eric was different because I know in some rooms they have him steering the boat.

I was very excited we saw them all at the same time!

One Man's Dream is amazing!! Such a good idea for Disney to put it in so we can all find out more about that wonderful man!

We did get a lot done! I was worried once we saw the crowds how it would be :worried:

I was wondering I know you went to Disneyland and is that how their character lines are? I know those characters aren't usually out with a handler there so I wasn't sure if waiting in a crowd for a character was the norm there :confused3

Thank you for reading!

Uhm, I' have to say it's kind of a gong show finding the characters over there, but there are quite a few who have set places now! And the lines are usually formed by the people waiting, and some of the characters do a decent job controlling the line too.

I know there seemed to be a set spot for the princesses obviously, and back in toon town there's more assigned areas/times. Along with Mickey and then Sully over in DCA. I don't remember there being much information about when or where though you just stumbled upon them and would hopefully be able to get in the line. People were nice enough when I was there to form a line on their own and keep everything controlled but I'm sure that's not the case.

I'm also sure that in DLR the face characters have a much easier time working their own lines as it's expected of them, and they'll probably keep an eye on the "crowd" and speak up if someone cuts in front. Where as Leia 's friend was probably either new completely, or just used to having an attendant to do that and wasn't thinking about it.

Wow...long response... :rolleyes1

Sorry it took me so long to get around to an update

That's okay... you had a pretty good excuse.

But now that you're settled in.... no more excuses!!

I wanted to get to the gym one last time. Yes this means I went at like 5 in the morning but don't judge

Don't judge?? Are you kidding? I'm in awe of your dedication! :worship:

I spent most of my time playing Candy Crush, reading and coloring in my Star Wars coloring book.

And she wonders why she always gets offered the child menu.

:sad2:

After a few months since our last trip and even longer since a good trip (meaning sick not meaning getting married made it bad :upsidedow) so it was time!

Good thing you clarified!

I love all of the colors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tend to be a pretty colorful person so it was perfect!

I tend to see the architecture and fixtures more then the colors, although I do notice when there's something unusual. I'm always looking and thinking, "Now how can I incorporate that in my house..."

This was my first time using the military discount  Just one of many reasons I married Andrew

ah.

So it was like this:

A long line of suitors extends down the hallway and out the door. Caitlin, seated behind a desk, calls for the next candidate to step forward. A young, nervous looking fellow steps forward.

Caitlin: "Name?"
Candidate: "Howard, ma'am."
Caitlin: "I don't like it. Change it. And don't call me ma'am. I respond to miss or princess. Your highness will do in a pinch, too."
Candidate: "Yes ma'..., miss."
Caitlin: Occupation?
Candidate: "I'm a lawyer, miss."
Caitlin: "Lawyer? What firm do you work for? Or did you hang out your own shingle?"
Candidate: "I work for a fairly large wall street firm. We specialize in...."
Caitlin: "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever. Do you get any Disney discounts?"
Candidate: "No, miss. I think though..."
Caitlin: "NEXT!"

The chandelier was amazing!

Love that chandelier.

Instead I had this

I can't tell... are those chocolate covered strawberries?

A chocolate covered marshmellow stick which I did not end up eating at all the entire trip

Didn't...

eat...

it...

:faint:

Our one major complaint about this resort was how far away our room was.

I looked at the resort map on the DIS. It looks about the same distance as Country Fair in ASMU, where we last stayed. If it's anywhere near the same distance, then... yup. It's freaking far!

Looking at the pic of the pathway with the leaning light posts, I'm sure that there're going to be some people saying, "Look at those posts! You'd think Disney could fix those!"

I know a lot of families with children take pictures of their room first thing because they mess it up quickly well that's why we do it too :lmao: Mom and I can mess up a hotel room pretty quickly!

I looked at the tabel and thought, "Boy, they sure didn't wast time spreading out a bunch of papers!" Only later did I see that it's part of the decor!

"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?"
"As you ask me, so shall I say. That the fairest is... um... the one with the camera... No! Wait! The one in the background... Yeah... No! Hang on... Uh... shoot.... camera girl! No! Background girl! No! Wait!! ... arrrrrrgh....."

poor mirror. :sad2:

Anytime we walked past Ursula I missed my grandma :lmao: That sounds bad doesn't it?! When I was younger we used to play Little Mermaid in her condo swimming pool and she was always Ursula so we have always made fun of her for that.

Nice memory, though.

Saw one of my favorite villians. I like him because he is just a huge jerk but has the best voice ever :lmao: Might also explain my love of Darth Vader

So shouldn't you love Mufasa more? Since his voice and Darth's are the same?

Plus there was the issue of the no climbing signs but ya know Disney only put that there as a suggestion

Note to future Caitlin. If you become a parent.... then parent! :sad2:
Drives me nuts when parents let 'little Johnny' do whatever he wants, 'cause of course he's such an angel and no one else will mind, right? grrrrr....

Mine!

My favorite part of that movie, I think.

For those of you that don't know I am a huge fan of Star Wars.

What? Really?

Huh. Never knew...

:rolleyes1

Is it bad that we are so used to Disney it's like oh yeah of course someone would be taped to a wall in DHS?

:lmao:

THERE ARE STORMTROOPERS WALKING AROUND DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!

:lmao:

I am such a geek y'all don't even know

Hey! There's another 'y'all'.

You really are getting assimilated down there.

That's better.

You look so much healthier and happier. :thumbsup2

Oh, man.... That brings back some memories.
I see that and I just wanna cry.

EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:lmao: Not too excited, were you?

No one was there but luckily this was under the mat

Note to self. Bring phillips screwdriver to DHS.

No reason... :rolleyes1

So many kids cutting and her going to whoever she wanted to made it a very long wait.

So... did you take out any of those line cutting kids?

Just wonderin'

Well I think I sufficiently introduced you to what a geek I am

::yes::

Next up!
My first time eating gluten free at Disney!

Looking forward to it! Thanks for a great chapter Caitlin! :goodvibes

I so agree that seeing pictures of AoA does not in any way ruin anything or compare to seeing it in person.

The picture of the Fab 4... in the Star Wars attire... ALL TOGETHER... OMG I would die. :faint:

For starters I LOVE the title of your trip report. About 6 years ago my family was on Dinosaur and right as he's shouting "they're not gonna make it! they're not gonna make it!" the ride breaks down. Some guy in the car with us wgras like "guess we didn't make it" and the entire group just burst out laughing. It was just one of those awesome disney moments and now whenever it looks like someone isn't going to make it to something we break out that line.

I totally agree about the hike from the lobby to the little mermaid rooms at AOA. My mom and I stayed there back in October and it was brutal on our feet at the end of a long day - we would walk on that spongy area near the lion king playground to give our feet a break. And hey! Don't be hating on Rafiki. He was always my favorite character from the lion king! :rotfl:

I am soooooooo unbelievably jealous that you got to be there for May the Fourth! I have always wanted to go to Disney for Star Wars Weekends but right now it is just impossible with my work schedule. What an AMAZING picture with the fab four! Oh, and I absolutely love your R2D2 shirt! Where did you get it if you don't mind my asking?
