I received a PIN in the mail the week before last, which I only discovered last Sunday. In the last 8 days I have booked and/or changed my resort 6 TIMES!! They will never give me another discount, I am sure!

First I went with CBR, then changed to POFQ. Then I decided I wanted to try the Poly, then back to POR. After that I went to AKL, then I changed to a different week at AKL, and now tonight, I made what I am determined to be the LAST change. The final destination is: Standard View at Yacht Club, Dec 15th - Dec 22nd., with 1 day base ticket, and dining plan for 4 adults (ok, two are kids but they will be 11 and 13). Total is $2870.24 We still have to add airfare so I expect we will end up somewere around $3500. That is alot more than we usually spend so I will have to set a goal for myself: If I earn more than $70K by the time my final payment is due on Oct 31st, we will go. If not, I'll cancel.

Go!! You got the pin...how could you NOT go???? I have been hoping & waiting desperately for that stupid pin & it is just not happening!! But you know what, I don't care! I've booked ten nights at POP with DP...it will cost around the $5000 mark with flights but it's well worth it!

I must say though Faye that I am curious how you are planning on getting 4 tickets to Orlando from Ottawa (I live in Ottawa too!) for under $700! We are looking at Syracuse & for the four of us, it's closer to $1100....Ottawa flights are closer to $2000!!!!! Anyway, if you know something I don't on flights, pray do tell!

Go!! Have fun!

Thanks Faye! We too fly from Syracuse but we typically go through Expedia & just hope for the best deal. I don't really re-call seeing a Jet Blue in thier listings....I'll look closer this time or go directly to the Jet Blue site to check it out.

Sorry you got the :offtopic: sign!! It's funny actually how sensitive they can be sometimes & than, sometimes not!! Anyway, enjoy your day....-20something!!! Gross!! Get me to Florida!!!

I know I certainly *extensively* about where to stay after we received the PIN. In the end, this is a quick trip on a budget and I wanted to maximize the money for souvenirs and dining and minimize the expense of the hotel so we're stayin at Pop.

After we booked it - I almost called back three times. But I'm being good. I am leaving it alone. :)

We don't buy much in the way of souveniers, so that isn't even a consideration on this end. I decided that these codes are so random I may never get an offer like this again, so if I am going to stay onsite only once in my life, I might as well make it a doozy. You know what they say...Go big or stay home!

I am really afraid that we will regret staying onsite; that I will look around at the puny (although deluxe!) 4 walls and wish I had stayed offsite for 1/5th of the cost! I am so conflicted! (Must think dining plan, must think dining plan)

Everyone feels differently about the onsite / offsite question.

Personally, I like :

- Disney Transportation
- Charging stuff to my room
- The little "Disney touches" that are everywhere at their on-site resorts

Frankly, you're right - the rooms are fairly small overall, but I don't spend 12-18 hours a day in my room when I'm at Disney. It's also worth noting that I don't have kids. If I had small kids or more than two kids, I'd seriously consider staying off-site.

But then again.. maybe not.

My sister and her family (two kids, 14 and 12) stayed on-site and they loved it. So.. I bet you will too!

I don't know why this was moved to codes and rates...the post was not about the code, it was about the number of times I changed my mind!:confused3 I HAD HOPED to elicite some responses in regard to my final decision of Yacht Club.

Since you did talk about the code and labeled it with code....they probably thought it was just anothter code post. Try again posting on the other board without talking about the code..especially in your thread title.

Hey there,

Think of all the extra's you get by staying onsite. Our family stayed off site the very first year we went to WDW, and I will never do it again. Too much travelling between the offsite resort and WDW. WDW provides all your transportation, restaurants, pools, resorts, theme parks etc...etc...

My vote would be to stay onsite, you really don't save that much, in fact our first year we rented a 3 bedroom vacation home/flights/rental car, booked through a TA and I will never do that again, it was almost double the cost of staying on site. We live just south of you guys (still in Canada), and we shop around for our flights...usually Jetblue out of Syracuse, as you can get those flights for great deals. If not we drive....22hours, but still cheaper.

Good luck!

sounds like you have a good deal at this point- do you plan to add more days to your tickets? That will add some additional to the cost but still pretty good. Hope you have a great time - Christmas season is really great at Disney

we havent changed our resort yet but may go from pop to movies i didnt think about what resort i wanted i was worried if i waited to long that all the rooms would be gone so i just picked one.

We have 4 days + 5 plus features left from our trip in Dec, so we don't need to add any additional days. I don't need the 1 day ticket we are buying, but I want to try the dining plan since I doubt we will stay onsite again.

We love going in the slower seasons. This will be our third trip in December, but the first time being so close to Christmas.(We went in Oct in '05 to celebrate kids birthdays and MNSSHP).
