They'd Better Get Ready on the East Coast!! May 2009 **TR started on TR boards!!**

I'm so glad you were able to get everything straightened out. I am still debating an AP purchase in May. I just don't know. I'm iffy on it. I'm worried something will happen and I won't be able to make the other trips I have planned and I don't want to be "out" the AP money.

Your Veras are so cute!

Okay, I'm sorry I'm so behind. But that's so awesome you're at the 35 day mark!

I know, I'm so excited!!:cheer2:

I thought of the same things as you... what if we didn't get to Disney again? In July we considered APs but decided against them in the end just in case we didn't end up taking another trip that year. Well, then we ended up in Disney again in December with the whole family... again, we thought about getting APs but figured it would probably be the last trip for a while. Of course, then the 4/3 deal came out and I had $2000 sitting around from the fire so we added in a May trip. THEN we found out about the conference and booked another trip for June!

If only we had gotten those passes last July we could have saved soooo much money!:eek:Oh well, live and learn I guess. But we decided this time to just go for it because most likely we will end up getting our money's worth. Especially when you add in things like the Tables in Wonderland card, merchandise discounts and AP room rates. We have our fingers crossed that a year from now we won't be kicking ourselves!

Thought I'd join the party. Your dance avatar caught my eye and I thought I'd check out your report.

You must have taken the train right through my town on your way to Kingston. If you blinked you would have missed it though.

Love your new VB bags. I was down in the states for march break and almost bought one. I wish I had of. Love your patterns.

Love the bags!!! SOOOO cute! :thumbsup2 I'm actually carrying mine today! I love it. But now I have the bug...and I'm going to try to buy another! :rotfl: Good job on thinking about annual passes--very smart.

Hooray for VB Bags! :lovestruc They are too cute!

I'm glad Janet was able to get the resort situation fixed for you. There really are some great cast members out there! :cheer2:

I can't believe the annual pass will save you so much! That rocks! :yay: Having an annual pass to disney is on my "one day" list. :cutie:

:dance3: 35 days! :cool1: I'm at 26! I wish our trips overlapped

Hi! Welcome!!!:wizard: Nice to have you here.:goodvibes

I did take the train right through Port Hope! It was dark out so I couldn't see much though. But it's great to see a fellow DISer from Ontario. Are you loving the weather lately?

Are you a dancer as well? I trained at the Quinte Ballet School of Canada for a bit, which is kind of near Port Hope (I think?). I miss dance so much!:lovestruc

Hey, I carried mine yesterday! They are so handy.:thumbsup2 Can't wait to see which pattern you pick out for your next one. I totally want to buy a third but am putting my foot down for now.

Okay, I'm jealous you got a tag! :rolleyes1 Get me one!

I'll see what I can do!:rotfl2:

I NEVER thought we'd be AP people, so I'm pretty excited! And it would've been so much fun if our trips overlapped... I guess I'll have to settle for reading your TR instead. You're getting so close!

Yes, it is pretty close. There are two girls here in Port Hope that I know of that attend Quinte. Their parents share the driving back and forth. The Quinte school has just entered my radar.

It's my son who dances. He'll be attending the National Ballet summer camp for the second time this summer. He was too young to be accepted last year but they invitied him back for this year. If he gets accepted I don't think I can send him. I'd miss him too much. My hope is that if he does get accepted in grade 6 that they can hold out again until he is in grade 8 or 9.

He had a blast last year at the summer camp. The best part for him was being with a group of boys his age who love to dance as well.

So we are actually considering Quinte. What a coincidence.

33 days for you!!!! :cool1:  :yay: :dance3:

I know!! And not much longer for you!:cool1: I have to head over to your PTR and catch up!

Ah, NBS... lucky boy!:goodvibes I know a number of people that did the summer program there and loved it. I know what you mean regarding the dilemma of sending your kid away, my parents faced the same issue. I didn't go to QBS until I was older, in grade 10. It's a good school but IMO not as prestigious as NBS! Still, if he can get good training closer to home while he's young, he still has a lot of time. I think it's so wonderful that your son dances. There are so many misconceptions about male ballet dancers, but it is an art that takes so much strength and endurance... ballet needs boys! It was a while ago that I went to QBS (eek I feel old!) but if you have any questions that I can answer, I would love to!

Speaking of ballet, I'm going to register for an adult dance class at a ballet school nearby.:thumbsup2 I'm really excited, the classes run through the spring and summer so I'll actually have time to go! I'm kind of nervous but mostly excited!:yay: I've been thinking about doing it for a while, but I've been so busy that it hasn't really been realistic. I'm going to go register on Monday.

I got all nostalgic thinking about it, so here are just a couple of photos from when I was dancing. Notice my cast in the second one? Yep, I danced with a broken arm!

And check it out, I still have a bunch of my pointe shoes that I kept to decorate my room with!

And to add a little bit of Disney to this update, I went to the Disney Store last night while I was out shopping with a friend and I picked up a Pooh journal! Right now I'm using it for all our ADR numbers and itineraries and plans, but once we get there I can use it as my TR journal. I think it's so cute! I'm using the first page as a checklist for what I have left to do and oh my goodness, there is so much! I've got to call Disney today for a few confirmation numbers I've lost track of (Keys to the Kingdom and Ohana dinner). But here it is:

I also saw this Beauty and the Beast mug for $4 that I had to get!

IMG_1374.jpg

I've been checking the touringplans website and every day we're at WDW has now been raised to an 8!!:eek:I thought May was supposed to be fairly quiet? Oh well, we've dealt with Christmas and July crowds so May can't possibly be worse than those, can they? Trying to keep a positive attitude and we'll deal with it as we go! I would have a crowded trip than no trip at all!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend! I'm planning on going to see Sunshine Cleaning tonight, have my finger crossed it's decent.

I want to see more dance pictures! You look so very beautiful!!

I agree with LL! The pics are gorgeous and you look so graceful!:dance3:

Love the Pooh notebook, Winnie the Pooh is so cute! The mug is great too, only $4, what a bargain!

Oh, and I got your payment for the photopass share. At first, I thought you overpaid, then I remembered you were in Canada and shipping will cost more!:thumbsup2

Oh my gosh! I made it until the end.

I was starting a PTR for my trip in May and I got hooked on yours.:goodvibes I have a much shorter trip but we'll be there at the same time.

I'm going down to celebrate my niece's 15th bday on May 5. It is a very late planned trip, so no CRT for her. She decided to go to Epcot anyways.

Your pictures are great! I used to dance from age 4 to 14, then I stopped. It got a bit much - I did to, ballet, tap and jazz. Never hada to worry about a costume for Halloween!

Looking forward to the rest of your PTR! popcorn::

Love the dance photos! I never would have noticed you had a cast on your arm. I would have figured it was some type of fingerless glove.

I used to hang my pointe shoes by my window just like yours. I still have my first pair. Or at least my parents do.

I'm so pleased to hear you'll be dancing again. I started back dancing this year too. My kid's dance studio (my DD8 dances as well, still trying to convince DS6 but so far he hasn't bitten yet) has an adult tap group. It's been fun to get back into it. We've even entered a few competitions. Wish me luck!

OMG! You are gorgeous in this picture. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

Thanks, Tinkgurl!:goodvibes The thing is, I had horrible self confidence growing up, and I felt awful about myself. Now, looking back, I can finally appreciate the pictures and I'm so glad to have them to look back on. Your compliments really do mean a lot to hear!

I want to see more dance pictures! You look so very beautiful!!

I'm working on it! I had to take pictures of pictures and I'm editing them now on Picnik because... well I have nothing better to do!:rotfl:

If you need any more $$ once you ship it, just let me know and I'll send it right to ya! I wasn't sure how much shipping would be.

And thank you! The funny thing is, I am completely uncoordinated "offstage". I am kind of like a bull in a china shop most of the time, tripping and banging into things.:rotfl: At any given time I have at least a few bruises from my clumsiness.

WELCOME!!!:banana::banana::banana:

Oh, it's so nice to have a new reader! That's so neat you'll be there at the same time as we will. Your niece is so lucky getting to celebrate her birthday at Epcot... I can't imagine anything better!

LOL I always used my dance costumes for Halloween. My fallback was always "ballerina".:goodvibes

Off to go check out your PTR! But thanks so much for stopping by, hope you decide to keep reading!

The picture is black and white so it's pretty subtle... but in real life the cast was bright blue so it was a little more noticeable! I actually broke my arm while at the studio (see clumsy comment above LOL) and I had that darn thing on for ages. There were actually two broken bones but they didn't find the second one until the day I was scheduled to have the cast taken off. It was sure an adventure!

Good luck with your competitions!!! That sounds like so much fun... and they must be soon!

Okay, I've got the pictures done. This is bringing back so many memories... I danced for a long time and I loved it but honestly, I probably wasn't good enough to make a career of it. I also have terrible knees (I have braces I have to wear to WDW because of the walking) because ballet really took a toll on them, but I still have wonderful memories of the years I danced. I keep in touch with a number of girls from my studio who are pursuing dance professionally now, and while I am so happy for them, I know that for me, working with kids was really the path I was meant to take. I'm perfectly happy doing it just recreationally now .:goodvibes

They're all a bit blurry since they're pictures of pictures, but you can get a decent idea.:goodvibes

Oh! And something kind of neat! I was going through an old box today of papers and stuff I had when I was younger (schoolwork and stuff) and I found my lanyard of pins from a trip to Disney I took when I was... about 14? I never traded any of them, just bought them as keepsakes. I'm going to take them off and hopefully get some pictures up tomorrow. I was so excited to find them!
:dance3:

For pictures of pictures they aren't too bad! Thanks for posting them.

What a great find! I wonder if any of the pins are particularly valuble now?

Pretty pictures! I never made it to that level. We were to start point when we were 11 (I think) but I dropped out when I was 9.

Lovely pictures, thank you for sharing them with us! :goodvibes

I can't wait to see your "forgotten" pins. :thumbsup2
