They'd Better Get Ready on the East Coast!! May 2009 **TR started on TR boards!!**

I get on the Dis when I should be working too. Heh. It's addicting. Definitely try Crystal Palace for breakfast. I think breakfast is the best meal they serve there.

I'll be anxious to know how you like the Princess meal. I don't really have a problem with face characters, but I do get all red and flustered when I get people drawing attention to me, even in jest. We are considering an ADR for the 50s Prime Time Cafe...Kelly loves it, I have my reservations...I may be facing my fears as well!

Liberty Tree Tavern is good too! And Nine Dragons. In case you wanted suggestions. :upsidedow

We've had dinner there three times, so I would love to try breakfast. We really like dinner, so I bet we would love breakfast!!

The Prime Time Cafe isn't so bad. If you are reserved, the CMs will follow your lead. We've had really animated CMs and others who were just super friendly and conversational.

We like LTT but have never tried Nine Dragons... I will add it to the list! We decided that I will get to pick a list of restaurants to try and from that, my DM will pick the 4 we actually eat at. So it works out for everyone!:thumbsup2

Okay, everyone. I have come up with the preliminary round of ADRs!!!

Get ready!!!

Okay, wait. Before we get to the good stuff, here are few of my very favourite Disney Food pics from years past. Nothing better to get everyone in the "Disney Food Mood"!:rotfl2:

Okay. So now that I'm officially STARVING, here is the list I'm giving DM to choose from:

Akershus (breakfast)
Chef Mickey's (breakfast)
Kona
'Ohana
Crystal Palace
Mama Melrose
1900 PF (dinner)
Beaches and Cream (although I couldn't make an ADR)
Boma
California Grill
Coral Reef (lunch)

Would love to hear any opinions! We've eaten at CM, Kona, 'Ohana, CP, 1900 PF, Boma and CG before, but not for a while.

Happy Wednesday!!:grouphug:

All of those ADR's sound really yummy. It's hard to choose. We loved, loved, loved Kona. We had a delicious meal there. We also loved Crystal Palace for breakfast, we didn't like dinner quite as much. I'm excited to see what end up going with.

OMG. So hungry now! All of a sudden, all I want is a giant cream puff!

Ahhh I'm so tired right now. I'm going to go shower and then fall into bed with a book. I'm in just a terrible mood, so I know that means it's time for me to sleep.pirate: :rotfl:

I'm starting to feel just awful about staying at the YC. I know we can afford it but... with the recession and everything, I keep feeling like maybe we should switch to a mod or value. DM really does not want to, and I know downgrading would really disappoint her. We have the trip paid off already, but... I don't know, I have tuition fees to pay and I can truly find just about anything to worry about!;)

I know I should just go and enjoy, but I keep going to Disneyworld.com and pricing out vacations at the values and we could save $1000 over the YC! I'm mostly just worried about tuition and scholarships etc... right now I don't have any loans and I'm really hoping to graduate debt free through working, bursaries, etc.

I wish I could just sit back and enjoy the planning but it's making me feel so darn guilty!

We've for sure decided on 'Ohana and Akershus.

Other than that, more menus to look at.

I should probably update when I'm not such a drag.:rotfl2: I just feel like everything is so overwhelming right now... even the idea of going to shower! LOL

I work in the therapeutic playroom tomorrow, so I know that will give me some much needed perspective. I am blessed that these are the things I am worrying about. I truly am grateful for the life I have been given, just a little stressed out is all.

Now off to tackle that shower!

Ahh I'm feeling a lot better today.:goodvibes

I worked a shift with a little girl who had all of her limbs casted and a neck/back brace, and there's nothing like that to put things in perspective. She was just adorable, sometimes I wish I could bring these kids home. :lovestruc

Today I have GOT to call Disney and:
1. Book our Magical Express
2. Cancel our CRT breakfast (let me know if any of you reading want it!! It's for May 5th)

And DM and I are going to try and settle on our ADRs. She wants to try Mama Melrose's but after looking at the menu, it doesn't look like something I would love.

I feel like I've been awake for weeks now, so I'm going to have a nap tonight and then watch The Office. Ahhhh!:cool1:

Excuse me, I'll take a little puff with that cream! WOW! (licking drool off the monitor!)

Glad you're feeling better today! All of your ADR choices sound good, but I'm not much help. I have never had a disappointing meal at Disney although CG is definitely the best meal I've had at Disney.

I'm starting to feel the deluxe resort guilt too. While I am super duper stoked about extended visit to Disney World, I know we could save so much by going mod or value. My DH keeps saying, "we've stayed value and moderate and now we can afford deluxe, besides, since we're trying to get pregnant, we probably won't be going to Disney next year so let's splurge." How can I argue with that?:thumbsup2

I'm learning about this in my Child and Family Therapy class right now!

And P.S.-be careful in the shower! :lmao: On a sad note, my sister's a cheerleader and after the game Tuesday night, one of the guys on the basketball team fell in the shower and got a concussion and still has it and he doesn't know where he is!!!

All that food porn is not helping me! It all looks fabulous except for the Tonga Toast. I stand by my thinking that it looks like sugar covered poo! :rotfl2: ;)

Oh it is so NOT!!!:snooty: It is FABULOUS!!!!:thumbsup2 Love, love, love the Tonga Toast!!!:hyper:

I'd have a hard time choosing out of those restaurants. You've made a good list.
My input:
Akershus (breakfast)- only had dinner here which was good, so I'm no help.
Chef Mickey's (breakfast)- years ago, thought it was decent. Liked Crystal Palace's breakfast buffet better.
Kona- Love it!
'Ohana- Love it!
Crystal Palace- only had breakfast here. Very good!
Mama Melrose- never eaten here.
1900 PF (dinner)- never eaten here.
Beaches and Cream (although I couldn't make an ADR)-Yum!
Boma- I've eaten here twice for dinner. Enjoyed it both times.
California Grill- never eaten here.
Coral Reef (lunch)- had dinner here once. Was not impressed. My son got sick afterwards too.

Oooh, Child and Family Therapy sounds so interesting!! What are you going to school for?

And oh no, I will keep your sister's teammate in my thoughts.:grouphug: I hope he makes a full recovery.

NO! BLASPHEMY!:rotfl2:

You have to try it, it is sooooo yummy! I hate bananas and I LOVE Tonga Toast. I think it has to do with the deep frying process?:lmao:

Okay, Coral Reef is off the list! Yikes, I'm sorry your son got sick!

Right now our two "for sure" restaurants are 'Ohana and Akershus. I feel like they're such typical, non adventurous restaurants to choose but... we love 'Ohana would I think Akershus might actually be fun!

The next restaurant to be added to our list will likely be Boma. We shall see!!!

I'm off to IKEA today, and then doing some reading and then hopefully going to see a movie! I've also got to do some cleaning and go pick up my paycheque. WOW exciting day, huh?:rotfl2:

I feel like I am stuck in my planning until the May hours come out. Come onnnnn, Disney!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Just finished reading through your thread. Help, I am SO addicted to these boards:rotfl2: Sounds like you are going to have 2 fantastic trips. The Yacht Club looks amazing:)

Thank you once again for the care package. Blessings to you and may lots of pixie dust come your way!!pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Thanks!! I'm trying to stop feeling guilty about the YC and just enjoy it... I was actually lucky enough to get almost $2000 from my university this year (from a residence fire) so with the 4/3 deal it payed for almost the whole trip! It was perfect timing. Truly makes me believe that blessings can come in unexpected ways... and that there's something to be found in every bad situation. It was a nightmare at the time though- no ID, no money, no clothing, no phones, no computers... I wore pajamas to class and lived in the student centre! Then later we got moved to a hotel (for 3 months!) and given money, so that helped morale a little.:rotfl:

I wished I could've sent more, I know it wasn't much, but I just hoped a little something would let you know you're never alone.:grouphug: Let me know if there's every anything else I can do!!

Right now, DM and I are trying to figure out if we're going to do another photoshoot. If we can get the $25 one, we absolutely will... but we're doing a Photopass share (THANKS WENDY!!) so I don't know if that will still work out? We were really happy with the December one and now have the pictures framed in the living room. I guess it will all depend on:
1. If the confirmation email this time has the $25 offer and
2. They will let groups doing a share use the $25 offer

I really hope we can!

I know I've already posted a few of these pictures, but since I'm still missing my camera, I can't post any NEW pictures, so here are the rest from our shoot that turned out well.:goodvibes My brother was feeling just awful (he got sick:sad1: ) but he did his best to look like he was having a fun vacation!;)

OH!

And we've settled on 2 restaurants for SURE now:

'Ohana

and

....

Teppan Edo!! It wasn't originally in the mix, but we ate there December and DM loved it, so we decided we're going back.

Now we've just got to figure out 2 more by Sunday!:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 I am so considering Teppan Edo too. I have yet to read a single bad thing about it. :cool1: I just don't know where we'd fit it in.

I like your dining choices and here's my input:

Akershus (breakfast)- Never been.

Chef Mickey's (breakfast)- We went for dinner and even the kids agree, it was the worst food of the trip. :scared: However, the character interaction was really good.

Kona- Never been but looks fab!

'Ohana- Love it! ::yes::

Crystal Palace- Never been but going this trip! :woohoo:

Mama Melrose- We really liked it. :thumbsup2

1900 PF (dinner)- Never eaten here.

Beaches and Cream (although I couldn't make an ADR)-Yum!

Boma- Never been but we'll be doing dinner this trip. :cheer2:

California Grill- Do not miss it!!!!!! pixiedust:

Coral Reef - I thought the food was excellent, no one got sick however they forgot our diver sign and custom menu so I won;t be going back.

The confirmation for our Photopass CD does have the $25 offer for the GF. I can email it to you if you want it. I'm not sure how it works if you do a share so maybe post a new thread or search for an existing thread that covers that topic. I'm interested in doing the shoot too! I wonder if it's only $25 at the GF or if we can have our shoot at the Poly for $25? Anyway, let me know what you find out! I'll do a search too to see what I find.

Go to Teppan Edo!!! It was one of the only restaurants everyone in my family LOVED. And the chefs are really fun as well. I'm thinking that even though B&C doesn't have ADRs, we might add it to the list anyway. I really want to try a No Way Jose!!

It would be awesome if you could email it to me!! I'll call Disney and see what their policy is?

I know though, that when I called in December about our $25 shoot, I was told I could pick any resort even though it says the GF on the email. We almost went with the Poly and the CM would have booked it for us, but we ended up going with the GF because it was a bit more formal. I'm curious about the sharing though!! If it works out, that would be awesome!!

I read several posts on the Resort Photo Session FAQ thread and the Breaking News PHOTO SESSIONS!!!! thread that people are not having a problem using the confirmation letter when doing a Photopass share so I say go for it!

Are you going to get yours done at the BC this time since you'll be at the YC?

Yay! Now I'm even more excited because I have another thing to plan!
