You are so generous with your kind comments! Thank you so much for your continued encouragement :goodvibes I too feel like screaming with joy whenever pass through the Magical gates! :yay:

Cute kids you have... love your writing style. My family frequently refers to the song and my Disney addiction! Thanks for sharing.

When I last left y'all, I was rushing towards the French theater in an effort to stay dry. The heavens opened up and a deluge ensured. So strong was the rain that you could hardly see two feet ahead of you....

I sat on one of the small benches in the French theater. I pondered on my next move.

The French film would be starting in 25 minutes. Did I want to see it? Hmmmm... Or, do I take out my trusty umbrella (which was incidentally, already a veteran of 2 Disney Trips  ) and continue plodding on?

Of course, the commando in me won! :) I took off my socks so they wouldn't get soggy, I was wearing crocs afterall. I stepped out of the theater's front door while simultaneously pushing the "open" button of my umbrella.

And off I went, splish-splashing in my now-soggy crocs, making my way to:

Morocco!

Here's the fountain at the entrance to Morocco:
IMG_5608.jpg

The King of Morocco actually sent Moroccan artisans to design and create the many mosaics:
IMG_5607.jpg

Due to Islamic religious beliefs on the content of art, the mosaics contain no representations of people.

A typical Moroccan house (you can clearly see the raindrops):
IMG_5605.jpg

It is here that I stepped on a rather large puddle, slipped wildly, and nearly fell on my backside! Lucky enough, I was able to regain my balance using the wall for support. A man nearby stops short of laughing, and I shrug my shoulders to say "oh well!" :lmao: and let out a huge giggle. Hey, if you can't laugh at yourself....:)

I continue to take my artsy-fartsy photos of gorgeous Morocco:

IMG_5601.jpg

Don't you just get the feeling that some exotic magical place lies behind these doors?
IMG_5604.jpg

I read from one of my Disney guide books that Morocco's buildings have great religious significance, and so the nightly IllumiNations celebration does not spotlight the Moroccan pavilion.

IMG_5602.jpg

Oooh, and a restaurant I want to try for next time:
IMG_5603.jpg

Restaurant Marrakesh!

I take one last look at Morocco as the rain gradually dissipates:
IMG_5600.jpg

Coming soon:
Been there. De ja vu.
Please stay tuned :thumbsup2

Thank you for your very kind words, and welcome to my trippie! :goodvibes I think the song is awfully cute and appropriate for us Disney fanatics ;)

I love your pictures from Morocco...they are gorgeous and very artistic :thumbsup2

I didn't get a chance to check in until I got to school, and now I am in agony, because all I get here on most pictures is the red x boxes. I hate it! Now I'm sitting here dreaming of all those good pictures that I can't see until tonight! I love to photograph World Showcase, as you saw if you read Baby and the Tramp. Jill said if they ever lost me they'd know just where to find me. I'd be taking pictures either in World Showcase or somewhere in Animal Kingdom. Where better to be lost, right?

Be sure to see the France movie next time. It is beautiful!

LOVIN your TR! I would love to do either a solo trip or with just my mom or best friend. I went with Dfiance in 2006 but its not the same...he was a first timer and we pretty much went commando.
Can't wait to read more--that is if you get more in before I leave Monday!

Oh, MeMom, don't you just get sooo frustrated when the work computer/connection doesn't act right? :headache: Hope you were able to see the pics at home....When I have more time next time, I'll try to see the France movie. :thumbsup2

I wish you lots of pixie dust for your upcoming trip! :wizard: Thaks for reading along. Will post a little update shortly...:)

Wonderful pictures from Morocco! Thank goodness you did not slip and fall into that puddle. :goodvibes

Thanks! I also think those Moroccan floor tiles, when wet, get pretty slippery. If anyone's ever there during the rain, be very careful! :upsidedow

Gorgeous photos! Cannot wait to read more.
Thanks for reading! Update follows.....:)

When I left the Moroccan Pavillion, the rain had almost completely stopped. As I walk towards Japan, I engage in "people watching" - something I don't usually do when the boys are with me, because I am preoccupied by the boys instead ;) .

I observe the people walking past by me. Aside from the familiar sight of Disney poncho-clad folks, there were also a good number of people barefoot and carrying their shoes in their hands. Others, I noted, wore t-shirts and were soaked to the bone. Some in wheelchairs (and strollers) had plastic bags covering their heads and bodies to shield them from the rain that just passed. None of them seemed to mind getting drenched. In fact, there wasn't a sad face to be seen. :)

I see that I am the only one with an umbrella, and hence is fairly drier than most (with the exception of the aforementioned soggy crocs :upsidedow ). Brings back to mind the great "lightsaber" (read:umbrella) duel at DHS/MGM that my sons engaged in last year. The pretend fighting between my boys, resulted in two broken umbrellas, and lots of scolding. See old trip report for details ;)

I finally arrive in:
IMG_5610.jpg

Japan!

I love the view of Spaceship Earth from here:
IMG_5614.jpg

I consider coming back here to see Illuminations later, we'll see if that happens.

The buildings to the right of the Japan Pavillion represent "commerce" and this particular one here is a replica of one of their many Imperial Palaces:
IMG_5611.jpg

The buildings to the left of the pavillion are supposed to represent culture and religion. Especially this five story tall pagoda:
IMG_5613.jpg

The five stories symbolize the Buddihists' five elements of creation:
earth, wind, water, fire and sky. Just beautiful.

The Japan courtyard:
IMG_5612.jpg

Jake and I had been to Tokyo, Japan early this year (no, we were not able to go to Tokyo Disneyland - I continue to regret this  ) and perhaps because of this, I didn't have the desire to do a thorough exploration of the pavillion. I think it's a beautiful part of Epcot, and plan to see more of it in the future. :)

Up next:
Lovin' your own.
Please stay tuned!

Gorgeous pictures! Makes me wish I were there TODAY! LOL!

Eeek on the slip and almost fall! Glad you caught yourself!

Great updates!!! It looks like the rain really cleared the crowds out. Beautiful pics of Morocco and Japan. Seems like such a relaxing, enjoyable afternoon touring the countries :goodvibes I'd like to try Restaurant Marakesh one of these days too.

It was a good change from running around doing rides, for sure :)

How fun to read your TR of world showcase! I cannot WAIT to explore it in January!

And you'll have good weather that time! I'll bet there'll be more "outdoor" live entertainment when the sun's out :goodvibes

Lovin' all the details in your tr. Seems like I'm there, too! :dance3:

Can't wait to read more.

Update comin' shortly. Thanks for sticking with this TR :)

Being on your own sounds so relaxing!
Great updates!

It was relaxing! :) Just today, when the boys were being their boisterous, active selves, I closed my eyes and transported myself back to my solo days in Disney to calm me down - it worked!

I would have to say that my favorite World Showcase country/pavillion is
IMG_5615.jpg

the American Adventure!

I am a child of the marriage of the East and the West - an Asian-American. I was born in Asia, but has called America home for many, many years now.

In America, I am living a joyful, secure and plentiful life -- and for that I will be always grateful.

The American Adventure show is about to start:
IMG_5617.jpg

I peek into the Hall of Flags:
IMG_5618.jpg

As you can see, above the Hall is hung a collection of the flags that have flown over the United States in all of its forms throughout history. It includes Revolutionary War flags, Colonial flags, and foreign flags that once had claim to the land. There are 44 flags in all.

A few minutes before the show, the a capella Voices of Liberty begins to perform in the center of the entrance hall:
IMG_5619.jpg

I did not plan on sitting down and watching, but the elegant sound of their singing made me stop and give them full attention:
IMG_5620.jpg

Their conductor/leader beckons the audience to come and sit closer, under the acoustically pure dome in the glorious rotunda of the American Pavilion:
IMG_5621.jpg

And so naturally, I sat as close as I could:
IMG_5622.jpg

The group do more than patriotic numbers. Their harmonies on "Amazing Grace," "Ol' Man River," and my favorite "This Land Is Your Land" bring to life aspects of US history that are too often ignored.

It was a very powerful, emotional moment listening to these majestic voices. This was surely one of the highlights of my entire trip.

And because deep inside, I am a girlie girl, I just had to insert a comment of how stunning her dress is. Look at it up close:
IMG_5623.jpg

When their performance ended, I almost didn't want to get up to see the Audio-animatronic show. I wanted the Voices of Liberty to keep on singing ;)

Eventually, I did make it upstairs and inside the theater:
IMG_5624.jpg

The theater was, at best, a quarter full. The show is a review of the triumphs, flaws and challenges of the US throughout its history.
I found it informative, interesting, and inspiring. Most of the audience clapped at the end. If you ever get a chance to see it, I think you will not be disappointed.

I walk out of the theater, a prouder American than when I entered it:
IMG_5625.jpg

Up next:
The Eastern Half.
Stay tuned....

Wow! I don't normally spend much time in world showcase and I have never even stopped by the America part, but based on your report and beautiful photos I will definitely be visiting it this trip. Plus, I'll have a 71-year old and a 10-month old with me so we'll be moving at a slowwww pace -- all the better to take in all the great details around ws!;) :hourglass
