With apologies to Miz Amy Winehouse......

Discalimer: There are no addictions nor drunkeness related to this TR -- for that you'd have to check out Jordan's hot sweaty Asian TR!
:rotfl:

I wasn't going to write a PTR.

Don't get me wrong. I love the TR/PTR section of the Dis. :lovestruc It's the first section I check whenever I log on.

My thing is I get too deep into writing that housework and "real" work tend to suffer. Greatly. And for one who loves to shop as much as myself, I cannot afford that.

So why did I decide to write this PTR anyway?!:scared:

I woke up at 6 am today and started doing Disney laundry. Y'all know what I'm talking about -- all the NEW shirts, pants, shorts, socks and (ahem) undergarments that you've bought in the months preceeding y'all's DIsney trips.

I am leaving for the World in {looks at calendar} 10 days! :cheer2:

While waiting for the laundry to dry, I had an epiphany of sorts. I came up with at PTR/TR title! And because the title is so friggin' brilliant (vain, vain, vain!) I couldn't let it go to waste by just keeping it inside my head where it would get filed beneath the "need to lose weight" thought. ;)

So, anyone care to make sense of the title?

But just to clarify, my life in general is pretty much rated "G" (in other words, contains nothing in theme nor language that would offend :lmao: ). See my old TR for evidence.

So while I leave y'all pondering, let me share this (favorite) photo I took while the boys and I vacationed in L.A.:

More musings later.

I loved your last TR and I was just thinking to myself that I hoped you would write one for your July trip :goodvibes

I'll sign on! I'm guessing you have a little Disney Addiction and that has to do with your trippie title! I'm with you, no Disney Rehab for me either! Addicted to the Mouse and Proud! LOL!

Allyson :)

Can't wait to read more.....and BTW, the title is GREAT!

I'm leaving in 11 days!!!! Can't even wait!

Ahhhh! That is a very educated guess, and really quite true -- I too am proud to confess my Disney addiction! :goodvibes

But, there's more to the trippie title...hope you'll continue reading along....;)

Btw, let me also confess that I've been shyly lurking in your TR ;) You see, we both are Moms who are in need/want of a solo trip! :thumbsup2

Wow! We'll be there around the same time! :yay: That's very cool! Where are y'all staying? {makes note to self to check your PTR after writing update}

Thanks for coming by! :flower3:

I'm sure it will be :goodvibes Are you going commando style again?

We/I have 2 schedules planned. One for an all-out commando attack on the World (again) and one where we take our own sweet time and perhaps even skip AK (OMG, did I just say that?!!! that last part doesn't sound like me at all! :lmao: )

This is why:

rehabsummit-1.jpg

I practice in the field of Rehabilitation (the Physical kind).

Our yearly conference (lucky for me) will be happening in ORLANDO next week! :yay:

Of course, I added a few days to my stay so I can feed my Disney addiction. Actually, by the time I finished planning my trip, I ended up having more Disney days than conference days! :upsidedow P.S. Just don't tell the boss that. :scared: Especially since it is an all-expenses/company sponsored paid trip. Yep -- Hotel, Food, Taxi, Airfare. All I need now are park tickets. Now wait you say, how about the rest of the family? There'll be more about that later.

For now, all I can think about is that I am going to a Rehab conference to cure my Disney addiction! MomofCKJ was half right (see posts above).

I have to go force the boys go to bed now. They've sneakily been playing Guitar Hero  since I started typing on the Dis. For those of you who haven't "met" me or my two little guys yet, here's a photo of us at Disneyland (circa Jan 2007):

I'll try to post an update later. Thank you for encouraging me to tell my story. :grouphug:

My DH is a PT. Why don't we get to go to these conferences?

I'm new, and I like you. Can't wait to hear more!

My DH is a PT. Why don't we get to go to these conferences?

Last year it was Vegas, but I skipped that.

As soon as it was announced to be in Orlando for '08, I ran to the boss' office and submitted my request. Then bugged her daily to get it approved. ;) Everything just fell into place :)

Oh, and by the way, :welcome: to the Dis!

{I've got the boys in bed, but they cannot sleep. So I put the Chicken Little DVD on, and make a deal for them to watch for a little bit -- then no more excuses for bedtime! Time to sneak in a little Dis update!}

So when exactly is this trip going to happen?

I am flying into MCO on (7/29) Tuesday morning next week and flying out the following Monday evening(8/4). I got the cheapest flight outbound to Orlando, which happened to be the earliest one too! And what do you know, the cheapest flight back to Houston was also the latest one out! I figured, more time to spend at the World!

I also chose to fly

air_southwest.jpg

even though DH is employed by

CONTINENTAL-AIRLINES-787-9.jpg

Because:

1) I need to show the boss I'm "trying" to stay within a "reasonable" budget (SW was cheaper by about 50 bucks)
2) Southwest flies in earlier (and flies out later) that Coair
3) I get to check-in two bags for free instead of just one -- and with the Disney souvies I plan to accumulate, that is a huge deal! :thumbsup2
4) I could have gone on a buddy pass, but I hate going standby! And why should I, when the company's covering airfare anyhow, right? ;)

DH says I'm flying Southwest just to spite him.
There might be a teensy weensy truth to that :upsidedow Just kidding.
Note to DH (aka Derrick): Love ya, mean it!

Everyone gets RAD while deep into planning their WDW trip.

You know you've caught this illness when your friends on the Dis literally keep a running bet amongst themselves on how soon you'd call 407-WDISNEY to switch resort accomodations. ;) You know who y'all are. :lmao:

Originally, the plan was to stay at

OKW (courtesy of some really nice folks over at the DVC board)

for 3 days, then transfer over to the

OMNI Orlando

for the rest of the trip.

I am 1000% definite about OKW, but iffy about the Omni. Why? Because the

POP.jpg

has always intrigued me. I've never seen it in person. But I have "been there" through the kindness of my Dis friends on the TR and Resorts boards.

There's something about the themeing of it that calls to me. Last year, the POP was my first choice for our stay, but the discount code I got was only for Music, so I switched to Music (good choice too, see my old TR for proof).

So now I was in a dilemma -- do I stay at a luxury 4 star hotel with a gorgeous pool/lazy river complex, or do I stay in WDW at the fun and exciting POP Century? (btw, the company would definitely reject paying for a deluxe, so that was out of the question....otherwise, I would have stayed at the GF! LOL!)

If I chose the POP, could I justify it to the boss? Hmmm...I could honestly tell her that it'll come out much cheaper for the company if I lodged outside of the conference hotel. Hmmm....And most importantly, where would I be happiest at?

I will have to make sure he keeps his ears opened for anything in Orlando. Until then, I'm sure he'll be going to some exciting conference on wound care or something. Yummy.

Thanks for the welcome:)

Can't wait to read more!! Loved your trip report and hope you will not only write this, but another trip report after!!
Love the statement about needing room for the trip home, so being happy about checking two suitcases! That is definately thinking ahead!!!:goodvibes
