I'm drinking the prep for a certain "test" tomorrow morning. This is the most awful-tasting stuff I've ever had to consume. Actually, it doesn't really have a taste, even though I'd add the orange flavor packet! LOL It's more that it's making me gag as I drink it, and I feel like I'm going to throw up!

Anyone want to cheer me on while I drink this battery acid for the next few hours??? LOL I've started off with 4 liters, and I'm only on my third 8oz glass.

I bet I know which test. That stuff is really nasty. I don't drink a lot of flavored drinks anyway, but having to get down 4 liters! i thought it was gonna kill me!

Can you add some different flavors to each cup of fluid? Like put some jello in it to sweeten it and color it? Just don't use red or orange. Maybe put some lemonade in it?

Good luck with your test. The test itself is a piece of cake. The worst part is the prep.

Wow, I am so liking dh and my gastro guy. He just has us mix some miralax with some gatorade, orange of course, and then follow it up with 3 ducolax pills. DH got to do that a few weeks ago.

Make sure its realy cold, that might help. Bet you will be glad when this is all over. My dh was so funny coming out of the anesthesia.

Wish I was seeing you at the Poly again, but that aint going to be happening any time soon. Next friday is operation #6 this year. Oh what fun I am having!!

Make sure you drink that stuff as cold as possible. Also, I found that if I just downed each cup of it as fast as I possibly could, taking only one quick stop for breath during each glass, I was okay. Follow each cup immediately with a good swish of mouthwash to get rid of the awful taste. I'd literally get some mouthwash ready and set it on the kitchen counter right next to the sink. Then, I'd get the cup of yuck ready and set it on the counter, too. First, chug the yuck, set the cup down, grab the cup of mouthwash, get it in there ASAP, swish and spit it out.

It makes the whole process at least a tiny bit better.

I remember the first time I had to drink that my Dad's advice was to be in the bathroom when I drank it! So true, ooooh that stuff was NASTY! Being cold does help it marginally but not much. There's also the little bottle of liquid dynamite, since DH and I both suffer from IBS I have a bottle of that lovely stuff chilling in the fridge at all times! No champaigne, bet we keep the mag cit chilled!

Are you drinking Go-Litely? That stuff is the ultimate in false advertising.

4 1.2 hours later and I'm not even halfway through the gallon yet. This stuff is so digusting. I can't drink it any faster or it won't stay down.

My DH added Crystal Lite iced tea mix with it, and it's making it 2% better, but it's still disgusting and I have no idea how long it's going to take me to drink it all tonight.

I called the doctor's office earlier and they told me that I didn't have to have it all finished by 7pm (according to their directions); the main thing was to take my time and drink as much of it as possible. I think if I can get and keep 75% of this stuff down then I'll be happy. Well not happy...but you know. lol



If they made the people in prisons drink this stuff, I swear the crime rate would drop drastically.


scottish: I think it's called something slightly different, "NuLytely" or something. The bottle is upstairs and DH keeps refilling my smaller bottle for me.

That is why i waited until i was 57 before i did that test. It was awful. By the time i got 3/4 done i was in the bathroom. I left about an inch in the container I could not take anymore.

But the test was no problem. It as fast, asleep and over.

Now I don't have to do it again for 10years.

By then I may not need the stuff to clear out.
