We received a phone call today and the person on the phone asked for DH by name. Out of habit I asked her if she spoke english and she said no, so I explained to her that we speak only a little Italian and didn't know what she wanted. She said a few things I didn't understand and then the music started to play (american music at that), so I waited. The next thing I know another woman comes on the phone and she speaks english....after all this waiting, wondering why they wanted DH she asks me if I would be interested in changing my phone service for two months! Yeesh, just can't escape those telemarketers!! I politely explained to her that in two months I would be back in america, but thanked her for calling. :)

I get them at work now too. One called the other day for my boss and asked for him by his name. Since the majority of people that know him, refer to him as Captain (insert last name). I knew it was a safe bet they didn't know him. He proceeded to go into to his sales pitch and I told him that my boss wasn't interested. When I hung up my boss was laughing and asked me what were they trying to sell him.

Wherever there are fools to patronize them, there will be telemarketers!

I work as a Church Secretary, and we get those calls at the church as well!

PS. Hi Deb! Your mom is so glad you guys are moving home!

What a riot! Thanks for the warning. Maybe moving there won't be so much of a culture shock afterall if there are telemarketers.
