They Don't Eat Hash Browns in Princessland - May 14 COMPLETE! 2/8 pg. 73

Ok, I was a little behind so now I'm all caught up again! Here we go.

I'm not 100% sure what I might have already commented on so... sorry for any repeats. :rotfl:

LOVE the pics on the teacups!! Omg I got a good chuckle out of that.

Gaston -- so perfect. Looks like he really was into his character!

The whole Tink meet is adorable, I adore the PP photog's shot of your selfie.

Yachtsman dinner sounds really good, that one's on my list for next year.

Hook and Smee -- so fun. Great meet! :thumbsup2 But nothing on Alice, that one is really awesome especially with the birth of the we-sie!

Great time spent with Missy. :thumbsup2

There! Finally caught up!

Wow, that Belle was really strange. I've always assumed that one of the top things they are looking for in face characters is being incredibly photogenic. Some people just always look photograph well, while others (like myself) have tendencies to flare something on their face, like a nostril or eye.

I'm very excited for the next update, as I'm a huge Bad Lip Reading fan. I found Fido! I found him!

Good thing I was still on and could catch the latest update (I must have been responding to previous update while you were typing up the last one).

What a great idea to do the Princess Meet and Greet with Missy...you got the best of both worlds--time with a DISer and meeting some princesses too.

I'm sorry but Belle looks downright scary. It amazes me how many princesses lately have been way "off".

The pictures with Alice are great; I love when they are fully in character.

Mulan is absolutely stunning!

So do you like Lotus Blossom? We've never eaten there before.

You were posting exactly as I was! What timing, right?

It was such a great day. It was nice to not really feel the pressure to be anywhere at any particular time. And no rides! That's unheard of for me.

Yeah, she was off, and it was exactly what I was thinking when I walked up to meet her. That she didn't really look like Belle to me.

I do like Lotus Blossom. It's not the best food ever, but it's good.

Hey I'm a little late :wave2: but this TR is great!

I had to laugh at poor Belle's awkward face :rotfl:
And Alice is always such a good meet and greet, that girl can talk!!!

And wow, how beautiful is Mulan!

This trip seems awesome I hope you had a great time. I'm going to finish catching up now :)

:welcome: I'm so glad you've joined!

She was so awkward at first! I don't know what was up. Oh well. :lmao:

I love the fact that Alice is a talker! That's the best part to me.

We did have a great time on this trip.

Fun idea to meet the princesses! princess:

Yeah, that Belle is awkward. :rotfl: I sometimes think about how hard it would be to be a friend of a face character, as you know that your face is going to be in a ton of pictures and it’s not always going to be your best shot and you have no say in what other people see. Tough gig.

Glad you had an amazing Alice! She looks so sweet and fun!

How tall are you? I’m pretty sure you’d tower over 5’4” me. I never even noticed that Minnie was short. :rotfl2:

It is nice to be able to share meals with someone who has similar tastes. Dug and I do that all the time.

Mmmm, I’d love some school bread right now!

Now that I've done it, I want to make it a regular thing to meet them around World Showcase.

I know, I've thought about that myself. You're always compared to the real character.

I'm 5'9". I'm not obnoxiously tall by any means, but seriously next to characters, I feel like a giant.

My Mom and I always share meals. It's so nice that we have similar tastes.

Oh, school bread right now would be perfection.

Awesome that you got to mee Belle with no line. Even though I agree, she does look a little derpy!

The we-sie! :lmao: Love it!

So fun that you were able to spend so much time with Missy AND meet some great characters!

It was perfect timing to start making the rounds in World Showcase right when the meet and greets start. It's really the perfect way to meet them.

I know, the we-sie! That term has been flying around the DIS already because I posted it on Facebook and Instagram before I could even get to tell the story! :rotfl2:

:woohoo: for Dis-meet fun!

Sorry your Belle wasn't the greatest but I am convinced we met the real one yesterday! She was amazing :)

Your Alice interaction sounds perfect. She is adorable!

It was so much fun!

How awesome that you met one that was literally like the real Belle. That's always awesome.

Alice is so adorable. I'm definitely putting her up there as a favorite.

My dear fellow tall-hugger! Befriender of the short! Hug granter to the friendly!

I have a trick I was taught early in my life as I, too, am rather tall. I don't think I'm quite so tall as you, but for a lady at 5'9", I'm not miniscule, either. May I recommend "The Curtsy Hug?" I know you run, so I'm sure you're familiar a bit with lunges. I also know you're a connosieur of Princess meets, so I'm sure you're familar with a traditional curtsy. This hug comes in handy for all ladies who enjoy wearing short skirts, as it requires significantly less bending. First, find a hugging buddy. Then, stand with your feet shoulder width apart, hugging-distance away from your hugging buddy. Lightly place your right foot behind your left. The trick, now, is to make sure your feet are angled nicely to keep a flat front to the hug instead of a pokey one. The left front knee should bend nicely at approximately a 45 degree angle away from your center, the right straight down, as you lean slightly back to bear most of the weight on the right foot. For the final step, gracefully hug while mentally congratulating yourself for feeling like a ballerina.

You'll have to tell me if you try this. If you try it with Popadon as a hugging buddy, I really hope your mom takes pictures.

Hahahahaha. I totally love your tall hugging suggestions. I might have to try that sometime.

I'm actually 5'9" also, I just always feel like I am so much taller when I'm in Disney! Because the characters are so short!

Oh! And thank you for sharing more vacation! I love your Alice story! <3

Of course!

That's a really cool way to spend an Epcot day. I've never thought to do that before. :thumbsup2 and it sounds like it was even cooler since you were with a DISer.

Oh, wow, Belle's face...what an expression.:rotfl2:

Love the "we-sie" with Alice. awesome!

It really was a great way to spend the day! I definitely want to do that again in the future.

I know. I mean, either someone farted, or she's just confused. Who knows. :rotfl2:

Haha, yeah, Belle does look a bit... perplexed. She does look much more relaxed in the larger group photo and the selfies/we-sies.

Awww, Alice is totally adorable. Love great character interactions.

OK, I clearly have to buy two School Breads from now on. :scratchin

She did relax a bit more when we were in a bigger group. Maybe she was scared of me. :rotfl:

Dude......it's totally the best when you order two school breads to go. And every time, I turn into a five year old and laugh to myself. hehehehe

World Showcase character hunts are my favorite!!

LOL I love Belle but she does look a little startled in that picture…

The silly we-sie is perfect.

So fun that you got to spend so much time with Missy! You are both super awesome so no wonder you got along so well :goodvibes

It was so much fun! I don't know why I never did that before.

Startled, that's totally what she looks like. Maybe I'm scarier than I thought.

Awww, thanks hon! It was so much fun, and we really clicked, which was awesome.

I love to do that you get to sample a variety of foods this way. I too am glad that we have similar tastes. :thumbsup2

Yep we do have a ginormous amount of points. Love it though because we can go often and treat the family to rooms too.

I also had a fantastic time and was very glad to spend it with Missy. She is such a nice person. Really like her and Franklin. Hope we can meet up again soon.

Can't wait to see the next one. An Orange Peanut ???

I'm glad we have similar tastes too. Makes it easier to get more variety.

Hehehe, yes you do!

I nope that we can meet up again sometime too. Hopefully sometime soon.

An orange peanut!

Yay for dismeets and princess meets and amazing morning!

That Belle does kinda look paranoid, bahah! She looks SUPER familiar too...weird...BAHAHAH ALADDIN! SO DONE WITH LIFE! Probably hung over...lol...but cute pictures nonetheless.

YES!! ALICE!! WE had an AMAZING amount of interaction with that friend last week, we saw her at Epcot, then the next day at MK, day parade & boo to you, she's so fantastic!!

CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT UPDATE! Bahahahaha!

It was an amazing morning!

Dude, Aladdin was totally over it that day. Like "people, get out of my meet and greet area!"

I saw your pictures of that friend of Alice! I was like "that's my Alice!!!!"

ORANGE PEANUT!!!!

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: You called that one right. She really DOES look awkward. Not as awkward as the black cat, but awkward.

Despite that, I love all your character pictures. And I totally love your Alice. She seems amazing!

Oh Aladdin. :rotfl2: See what happens when you really ARE too pretty! :rolleyes1

It looks like you and your mom had a great time in the world showcase.

And obnoxious number of points? NICE! I am totally jealous!

Right?! Like, what is going on lady!

That Alice is my favorite. I would totally stalk that Alice. :lmao: Because I'm afraid other Alice's won't be as good.

Yes! He's pretty. And not much else. :rotfl2:

We did have a great time!

Mary Ellen. Words cannot describe their obnoxious amount of points. Not that I'm complaining, because we're able to go very frequently and they spread the love. :lmao:

Nice way to spend the day at EPCOT. Way to go with Alice, she really sounds like she did a great job.

Yup the PP caught Belle being all awkward. I agree that would be a hard gig knowing every shot wasn't great.

I think you did a great job with the Princess extravaganza, got quite a few there.

:rotfl2: On the school bread.

It was a really great morning. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to spend that time with missy.

She was awkward! I know I couldn't be on all the time either. They'd probably catch me making the weirdest faces.

We did get a lot of princesses in!

Oh that school bread. That's the second time that's happened, so it must happen every time you get two.

You are brave for meeting characters in 90 degree heat!

Wow, Aladdin sounds (and looks) totally clueless!!

Yeah, the school bread looks funny!

I know, what on earth were we thinking! It was a hot one that day.

He was totally clueless. It seriously took him a hot minute to figure out what a we-sie was.

Hahahaha. That school bread is the best.

:cool1: Belle does look rather taken aback

Alice is ADORBS! A we-sie is the perfect word.

You'd think for being in AC, Aladdin and Jasmine would have the same enthusiasm as Alice being in the awful heat :confused3

You guys did great with meeting tons of characters!

Love the arrangement of the school bread :lmao:

That Alice is so awesome. I'm so glad we met her. She's so chatty, which is awesome!

Right? Here Alice is literally melting in the heat and is awesome. And Aladdin and Jasmine are all cool, and they could give a care.

Anytime you want a chuckle, just ask for two school bread to go. I'm not kidding, you'll laugh like a five year old when they give it to you.

That is great that you ran into Missy like that ... well, I mean, I assume not literally ran into her - if you did that it wouldn't really be great

And speaking of not great, the mental image of Satan's armpit ladies and gentlemen!

That is a bit of an awkward look on Belle ... almost like she is trying to figure out how to signal to the photopass photographer to go get help

and yeah for birth of "the we-sie!"

For being so street smart Aladdin a bit dim, eh?

I mean, we could have totally almost ran into each other. She did round a corner towards us while we were walking by. :lmao:

Oh yes. Satan's armpit.

Everyone must now refer to them as we-sies.

Yup. He's a bit dim.

Hook and Smee -- so fun. Great meet! :thumbsup2 But nothing on Alice, that one is really awesome especially with the birth of the we-sie!

Great time spent with Missy. :thumbsup2

There! Finally caught up!

I'll take repeats, don't worry!

Always leave it to Popadon to do something to laugh at, right?

Gaston was so awesome! He was spot on with his character. Loved it. Tink was great too. She was so sweet.

Nope, Alice was the clear winner of that day of meet and greets. So glad we got to do it.

I completely agree with your assessment that they need to be photogenic. See, I don't consider myself to be particularly photogenic, which is why I have absolutely no shame doing stupid things with my face. :lmao:

OMG, bad lip reading! Best ever! "GET YOUR BEANBAGS OFF THE FLOOR, WHERE DO YOU THINK WE ARE, SOUTHEAST ASIA?!"

Wow, yeah, that Belle doesn't look a bit cray.

Oh Alice and now I still call it a we-sie since you informed of that.

Poor Aladdin, not so quick on the uptake.

Sounds like you had a great time with Missy though and that it was a good way to spend the morning/early afternoon.

She sure did. It was actually pretty funny. :lmao:

It will forever more be a we-sie.

No, he was so pretty but kinda dumb. :rotfl2:

It was a great time with Missy overall. I was so glad we were able to meet up with each other.

I do like Lotus Blossom. It's not the best food ever, but it's good.
.....
My Mom and I always share meals. It's so nice that we have similar tastes.
It is nice to share meals. You get so much more variety that way. We ate at Lotus Blossom on this last trip and DH got the orange chicken. I thought it just okay, but he liked it.

I'm 5'9". I'm not obnoxiously tall by any means, but seriously next to characters, I feel like a giant.
You are the same height as my daughter and an inch shorter than two of my sisters. I'm almost 5'8". So that seems about normal to me. ;) There are a few times when I feel tall, like when everyone in the elevator is about three inches shorter than me. :)

My favorite Disney resort.

This resort has been elusive for me from a reservation perspective for us to stay here. I'm hoping beyond hope that I can get this resort for my May SWW trip with my brother. The P's don't own quite enough points in it to book 11 months in advance since the contract was an add on. So it always slips through my fingers! Gah!

Because I have a picture of a No Way Jose!

This is one of my favorite Disney desserts on property. Yes, I understand that this is just ice cream and blah blah blah. But you just don't understand. Chocolate and vanilla ice cream, warm peanut butter, hot fudge, whipped cream.

Mine, too! Mine too!

I do hope you get a chance to stay there on your next trip.

:goodvibes

So here's my deep dark secret... :ssst:

I have never had a lunch/dinner or ice cream from Beaches & Cream

:duck: *ducks* while a whole can of whipped cream is thrown at me

The only time I have eaten there was when they were testing a quick serve breakfast (summer 2009).

I'm a fan of this shot, with dusk settling and the sun starting to go down.

And then I heard the Mine Train running.

OMG. That's a train in the background!

With people on it!

Oh no. Those weren't just people on that Mine Train.

Those were Cast Members.

That IS a beautiful shot!

:( on your Mine Train hopes getting dashed!

I WON'T be signing up for the Tea Cups with Papadon Fast Pass. Ever!

I would, however, ride with either of you on Buzz.

Nice score, but what a buzz-kill from the crabby CM!

:woohoo: people mover and    for Space with the lights on. I think one of the Y.E.S. classes we are doing in the MK is a physics class where we ride Space with the lights off and then with the lights on and compare the experience.

:cool1:

A we-sie? That is precious! I love it. Looks like you had a great Alice, and an awesome Mulan too. She was beautiful!

A few years ago, my sister had a fabulous Alice as well. My sister's name is Alice, too, and when she asked her name, Disney Alice said, in total character, "Oh? Do you live in Wonderland too?" It was so sweet!

I :rotfl: at that school bread. Wow. :lmao:

Right?! Like, what is going on lady!

Mary Ellen. Words cannot describe their obnoxious amount of points. Not that I'm complaining, because we're able to go very frequently and they spread the love. :lmao:

Danielle is right Mary Ellen..... I would actually say it's an insane amount of points. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

We always love sharing meals, because of the more options available. I agree, Lotus Blossom is okay. It will do in a pinch.

Right?! My height is totally normal to me, until I stand next to teeny tiny people, and then I realize that it's not. :rotfl2:

Mine, too! Mine too!

I do hope you get a chance to stay there on your next trip.

:goodvibes

:cool1:

I did get the Beach Club for next September! I'm so excited. I'm hoping to get it for May too, but that one has to wait for the 7 month window. :goodvibes

Uh oh. That is a deep dark secret! It's really great, you should definitely make a visit soon. It's one of my favorites. I would go there every trip, but I like to mix it up too.

Yup, if you don't like spinning, definitely don't go on the tea cups with Pop.

Wow, that's awesome! The Y.E.S classes used to come to the Six Flags that I worked at. They had their problems and would ask us questions sometimes.

Wow. :lmao:

She was so clever calling it a we-sie. Now I totally call it that every time. :rotfl2: Mulan was really beautiful. She was so sweet too.

This Alice was totally in character too, which was awesome.

Danielle is right Mary Ellen..... I would actually say it's an insane amount of points. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Well at least you agree with me on that. :rotfl2:

Day 8 - Thursday May 22, 2014 continued:

We left Epcot at that point to go back to the hotel to check on Popadon, since he had been by his lonesome for pretty much the entire day. We didn't want to leave him sitting there forever. Well, I mean we didn't have to worry about him too much, because you know what he was doing when we got back there?

Sleeping!

Thankfully, he heard us come in, so he was awakened from his slumber.

I relaxed for a little while before deciding to go down to the pool to chill for a bit. Mom and Pop came down as well. I figured the pool and japoolzi would be good for Pop to loosen his muscles.

After that, the plan was to go to DTD to have another DISmeet. We got ready and headed out. Who were we meeting today?

That would be Katt (Katt789), and her friend Jenna. Katt and I have met once before on a trip, and became friends after that. She's so sweet, and I love the fact that she's going to be working in WDW soon! So, anyone who goes down there should definitely swing by the Canada pavilion where she'll be working. :)
Here's a link to her current TR. She travels a lot and loves DISbounding.

It's Good to Be Bad. A Villainous Adventure

We hopped in the car and headed to DTD. Initially we were going to take the bus. Well. After sitting at the bus stop for like 15 minutes with no DTD bus in site, we figured we would just grab the car instead. I should always go with my first instinct. Take the car!

Katt texted me as we were driving that they had just gotten on their bus from Pop. We agreed to meet at Wolfgang Puck Express. She and Jenna had an audition that day (I believe this was prior to Katt getting the position with WDW), and they were pretty hungry. So we agreed to meet there.

We had parking mojo again, which was awesome and scored a space in no time. We actually got to WPE before Katt and Jenna did, which I did not expect.

The girls showed up shortly after that. We hugged, and I introduced the P's, while Katt introduced Jenna. At that point, we headed into WPE, because we were all hungry.

I ordered the four cheese pesto pizza.

And I didn't get pictures of everyone else's food! Well, Pop got spaghetti and meatballs, Mom got macaroni and cheese, while Katt and Jenna got a margherita pizza to share.

At that moment, Katt gifted me with these.

See, Katt and I have a mutual obsession with the NFL Bad Lip Reading video. So much so, that we often quote the orange peanut line on Facebook to each other.

"An orange peanut? For me!? I accept you!"

If you have not seen NFL Bad Lip Reading. Please. Watch it now. I'm even providing the link for your viewing pleasure.

"I can't believe there's a manhole and he fell in it."

I'm sorry, I just can't stop. :rotfl2:

The NFL: Bad Lip Reading

We caught up during dinner and discussed what we had done already on the trip, and what everyone's plans were. It was nice to be able to sit there and just catch up.

After that, it was time to head to Characters in Flight. That was the whole plan of meeting at DTD. When Jenna had found out there was a hot air balloon, it because a must do for her. And Pop has wanted to do Characters in Flight for the longest time, so we figured why not! Mom would be excluded from this, because she's very very afraid of heights. So we left her on the ground.

Jenna was SUPER excited about it and was basically jumping around like a kid.

And of course, to prove that we were all there, we had to get a picture together.

Soon, it was time for us to board.

And I had to prove that I was there. Or I just wanted to give you a gratuitous nostril shot, who knows.

Mom took a shot from the ground showing that we were indeed crazy in her eyes.

The views from up here are awesome! If you're not afraid of heights, it's a lot of fun.

Pop was SUPER excited.

And then of course had to go through the motions of what it would look like if he did a base jump from the balloon. The man totally misses the days that he used to jump from helicopters and planes in Vietnam. Skydiving is something on our list of things to do.

Continued in next post:

Continued from previous post:

While we were up in the air, Katt sat down on the ground of the balloon to try to get a shot of the hot air balloon.

I turned around to see her sitting there, and was like "what the?!" I started making a joke that she clearly was scared of being up in the air. So of course, she had to act scared.

More lovely views from above.

And down below a little peanut sized Momma.

Soon we were descending and the ride was over. I believe it's around 10 minutes total. They do give discounts to DVC members, but for some reason didn't have an annual pass discount.

It was a lot of fun, and it was something different from the normal Disney things that we do.

We walked around the area for a little while and saw a sign by Paradiso 37 that the booth had $5 margaritas. I was like "$5!"

At this point, I would like to call that booth out on false advertising. They list $5 margaritas, and with huge margarita glasses nearby.

So when you get up close to take a look, you actually notice that the $5 margarita is actually in a cup like this.

Listen, I don't drink that way. :lmao: So I sprung and bought Katt, my Pop, and myself a giant margarita. Momma didn't want one, and Jenna isn't legal drinking age in America.

Double fisting it like a boss.

Yeti was lushing it up a little bit.

For the record, I was the only one that finished my margarita. The others shared theirs with the bushes.

Amateurs.

:lmao:

After that, we parted ways, because all of us agreed that we had an early morning ahead of us. Yes ladies and gentlemen, the 24 hour day was upon us.

We headed back to the resort and started to get ready for bed.

Katt had mentioned something to me earlier that got me thinking. She and Jenna had a reservation at Be Our Guest the next day. She reasoned that if the park reached capacity for any reason, they would have to let her in because she could prove she had a dinner reservation.

So I hopped on MDE. And bam! Scored a 7:30pm reservation at Crystal Palace. I knew I had a gift staring me in the face. And I never turn down a gift. So I booked it and told Mom and Dad.

Of course, Pop is never going to say no to a buffet. Let's be real here.

I would have slept better, if there wasn't a stupid bird outside my window singing the ENTIRE NIGHT! Why the bird was never there for the entire week and then decides to make his appearance when I needed to get up at 4am I have no idea.

Up next: Oh hey, I only got like 2 hours of sleep, but who cares! The Magic Kingdom is open 24 hours!

Up next: Oh hey, I only got like 2 hours of sleep, but who cares! The Magic Kingdom is open 24 hours!

This bird is telling you the story of my bedroom window, excepting the bit about the dogs and people on cell phones who ignore basic courtesy and sing you the songs of their drama until about 1 am.

Ahh, suburbia. Oh well, I'm adapted well for a first story room at a Value, right?

Thanks for more vacation sharing! The balloon looks very fun, but the margarita is more my wheelhouse. ;) Can't wait to read about the 24 hour party!

Mmmm, the pizza looks yummy!

Nice that you got in another DISmeet!

Hey, I have that shirt! :goodvibes

The balloon looks fun – nice views!

Oh, my – just look at those massive margarita glasses!

Smart idea on making the dinner ADR! :thumbsup2

Hey - I've been a lurker too long. I've read all of your reports and loved them. I'm not sure why I don't post on trip reports too much, I really enjoy them.

Apparently all it took is knowing that another person loves the NFL bad lip reading as much as we do here at our house. My personal favorite line is:
"I found Fido. Hey, I found Fido. I found Fido, you guys." :rotfl2: It just never gets old!

Any way - I love your reports, very enjoyable to read.
