They Don't Eat Hash Browns in Princessland - May 14 COMPLETE! 2/8 pg. 73

All caught up! Well actually I was mostly caught up but alway seem to read while on the darn phone and posting from it kinda bites. I'm going to attempt it anyway! Love the leggings! Although I do have to say, I bought that shirt that is the color of..poop. And have actually worn it quite a bit! Too funny. Jellyrolls was such a blast major major trip highlight for me.

Good for you getting out there. I remember that Saturday morning, it was gorgeous. Mary Ellen ran. Me....I needed my coffee on the verandah and that need beat out the run. Plus I had a race the next day lol. How is your toe doing???

Boo for oral surgery and for both of you at once, get better soon. I remember the twin pic, that is so fun. There is a top there I want, need to get over there before the DL half and pick it up if it's still there. That little boy on Soarin, that is priceless!

I know exactly what you mean about runners face!

Hahaha, nice buying the poop colored shirt! My Mom bought it too and so did my Pop.

It was a beautiful morning! I remember you posting on Facebook that Mary Ellen and I made you look bad getting out there and running. :rotfl2:

We did the oral surgery at the same time because my Mom's words were "I have to be the one that picks the both of you up. I'm not taking two days off of work!" So....both of us in the same day.

Sending a  to you and a  to Pop. I hope you are both feeling better really soon.

Thanks Kathy.

"Mom will hold you." "No she won't! She doesn't care!" :rotfl2: Oh the terror of Soarin!

I didn't realize it, but yeah I have a "runner's face" I put on. For me it is when I see an approaching person, I stand up straighter and go faster. As soon as they are out of view, I go back to my slow slouch!

Sorry about you and Pops dental woes!!! I hope you both recover quickly. In a way, the timing is pretty good for you since you can't run with the toe issue anyway! As soon as your mouth is feeling better, maybe your toe will be ready as well. You will be in good shape..from head to toe. :lmao: I crack myself up.

Who'd have thunk that Soarin' was so scary, right?

We all have runners face. Gotta look good until the person runs past you, and then you can go back to shuffling and looking a hot mess.

It actually did end up being good timing. I was thinking about that the other day, because I would have been a week out of commission anyway with the oral surgery.

Awww, hope you two feel better soon! So glad I never had to take really any meds after I got my four wisdom teeth out last year. Either way, rest is always best. :thumbsup2

I'll be eagerly awaiting your next update! :mickeyjum

Thanks Timmy.

That's good you didn't have to take any. They're really not pleasant anyway. I don't know how people take them regularly and function!

Big  for you and Popadon. Glad there were no major issues and you are healing nicely.
Hey you are giving me a chance to catch up ... :lmao:

Thanks Pat. Everything went a-okay for both of us, just the stupid recovery time.

Hope you and your dad are feeling better soon! :)

Thanks Dawn!

Danielle and Popadon are feeling a bit better today. So glad that they had a long weekend to recoup from the surgery. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2

Hoep you feel better soon and same for your dad:goodvibes:goodvibes

Thanks hon!

I'm in! I've greatly enjoyed reading some of your other trip reports and wanted to get in on the action this time!

:welcome: I'm glad you're here!

I'm finally caught up! I'll see if I can remember everything I wanted to comment on, but I doubt it, and I didn't take notes...slacking, I know!

Wow, so many DIS meets! So much fun! Jealous you got to meet Landon, he's so cute!

Jellyrolls looks awesome, it must be so much fun to go there with a big group of Disney freaks! I'd love to do that someday!

I'm impressed that you ran on vacation! :worship: I am finally getting a treadmill, so I'm going to start the Couch to 5K again! I wanted to do the Princess Half next year, but there's no way I can train for it in what, 8 months? So maybe I'll do it in 2 years.

I LOVE that Maleficent shirt! I wish I could wear those Hot Topic shirts, but I hate my arms! :rotfl2:

Hahaha, no worries if you don't comment on everything.

It was so fun meeting everyone. Landon was definitely a highlight for me. He's so absolutely adorable.

Jellyrolls is so much fun, you definitely need to go there sometime!

Yay, Couch to 5k! You actually can train for a half marathon in 8 months, believe it or not. The Jeff Galloway training plans on the RunDisney website run about that long. I definitely wanted to wait though. I will have trained about a year and half by the time we run, and that works just fine for me.

I hate my arms too! I just wear them anyway. :rotfl2:

Just catching up on the DIS, so sorry to hear about the dental woes of you and Popadon! I had my wisdom teeth out two years ago and every time I took the pain meds I'd have to take a two hour nap, so I feel your pain. Hope things are a little better now!!

Hi everyone!

I wanted to get an update out, and then I promise tomorrow I'm going to start catching up on everyone's TR's. I'm telling you, being out for oral surgery made me so busy at work! Absolutely crazy.

My Pop and I are pretty much recovered. Mine wasn't so bad. I did get a minor infection on one side and they had to put me on a stronger antibiotic. That's wasn't tons of fun.

Pop's jaw was pretty beat up, but the good news is that his biopsy came back clear. :goodvibes:yay: So no issues there. Clean bill of health.

In other news.....I registered for the Princess Half Marathon! We got early registration for the half since the P's are DVC members, so I got to take advantage of that. I'm freaking out! I'm super excited though, because Caitlin, Mary Ellen, and Cynthia will be running. It's going to be awesome!

I mean, I know that I'm totally going to be bringing up the rear. It's so real now that I'm signed up. Eeeeeeekkkk!

I go to see an Orthopedic doctor on Friday and they'll tell me if I'm ready to get back out there and start running. I can't wait, because the past three weeks have just been absolutely depressing. And of course, we've been having super mild weather here this summer. But am I running. Noooooooo. Let's hope there is good news for me on Friday.

And with that said. Onward!

Day 3 - Saturday May 17, 2014

We left off having just witnessed a pretty epic freak out on Soarin'. Who'd have thunk. Soarin' is frightening!

We had Spaceship Earth FP+ to go and burn up, so we headed that direction. On the way of course, we had to take some pictures.

Soon, we were heading in to the ride.

We walked in, and we scanned our bands. And then we got to the part where the FP+ line merged with the regular line and we had to scan our bands again. And Mom just waltzes right past the CM there. He didn't notice, as I was scanning my band and he didn't seem to be paying a ton of attention.

I felt the need to call my Mom out and tell her that she was cheating the system, just waltzing past them not scanning her band like a law abiding citizen!

Her response to me?

She danced in line. Yes ladies and gentlemen, she danced in my face.

Disrespectful I tell you. I've gotten keep and eye on that one.

We got into our time machines and soon we were traveling back in time.

What on earth is this guy pointing at.

Maybe he's pointing at the gift that the horse left behind?

Seriously, could you imagine if that horse was real? The amount of poop you would have to clean out of Spaceship Earth.

This is where my mind goes people. All the time. I'm going to start a segment in my trip reports called:

The Things That Run Through Danielle's Mind on Spaceship Earth.

1) How much horse poop would you have to clean if it was real?
2) How badly would the inside stink then if the horse was real?
3) Space....the final frontier.......

Just a snapshot folks. Just a snapshot.

The child on the right on the Sistine Chapel ceiling totally looks like it's looking at me, doesn't it?

Freaky.

Oh! Anyone want to see the real Sistine Chapel ceiling?! No?!

I don't care, I'm showing you anyway.

You're not supposed to take pictures in the Sistine Chapel. So I was sneaky. Hee hee hee.

Soon, we were on to my favorite go-go boot wearing computer technician.

Soon, Mom and I picked our future. I wear sunglasses in my future. And at night. So I can, so I can....

We also dance in our future. The conga to be exact.

Dun dun dun dun dun

dun!

After we returned to earth, it was time for us to head into the World Showcase to get our food on!

Not before stopping to see the World Cup setup of course.

Go Belgium! Yes, we rooted for Belgium. That's where my Mom is from, so we always root for them.

Of course, we had to get in on the action and take some pictures.

And I truthfully have no idea what our plan was. We didn't have much direction. This is what happens when you don't have much direction.

I'm looking like a gladiator here. Who knows what's going on.

The PP photographer was too funny, because after we took all of the pictures, he said all that he saw was pink. My Pop and his shirt. That man definitely likes to be seen, that's for sure.

Okay, after our diversion, it was time to head in to get some food.

First stop?

Pineapple Promenade. I wanted more violet lemonade and so did Mom.

I'm looking at this picture, and I'm totally thinking about how yummy it is. Aaaaaahhhh, I want some right now!

These guys are my favorite sequence from Fantasia. They always have been. My parents have a cericel from them.

Continued in next post:

Continued from previous post:

We waltzed straight through Mexico.

My destination was the Lotus House booth in China. Here is what we had.

Spring Pancake with Grilled Chicken and Green Apple.

Vegetable Spring Roll.....DANGIT POP LET ME TAKE THE PICTURE FIRST!

He obliged of course afterwards, but the deed was already done.

This was my face afterwards of course.

Let me tell you though, the spring pancake with grilled chicken? I highly recommend that dish. I'm going to tell you right now, it was the absolute winner of the entire F&G festival for me. So much so, that after I ate my few bites of the one we were sharing, I vowed that the next day I would go back and get another one.

Did you ever notice that Rafiki is looking at Simba the way we kind of examine babies to see if they've pooped? I'm just saying....

An important component of this trip around the booths?

The fork in my pocket.

I hate having to get forks over and over again and then throwing them out. So wasteful. Plus, it's just easy to have it in your pocket, because then you can just whip it out anytime and steal someone's food off of their plate.

The next stop was the Florida Fresh stand.

Shrimp and Stone Ground Grits with Andouille Sausage

That was mainly for Pop. It was a little spicy for me, so I took a bite, but that was it.

Next, I wanted to go to Sommerfest, to try something new that I had seen on the Disney Food Blog. Sommerfest is the counter service location in the back of the Germany pavilion. They had overhauled their menu recently, and I was super interested in one particular item.

What is it that interested me so?

Nudel Gratin.

Yes, I understand it's like macaroni and cheese. But I'm telling you right now. This stuff wipes the floor with every macaroni and cheese EVER!

Legit, I'm telling you. If I was walking, tripped and fell on the ground and spilled this nudel gratin on the ground...

this would be me....

Oh we also got some potato salad, blah blah blah.

I'm not going to lie. We almost came to fisticuffs over that nudel gratin. One serving between the three of us was not enough.

Don't worry. We were all good. No one punched anyone. In the face at least.

At this point, it was time to slowly mosey on and get some more pictures of the beautiful topiaries.

Dopey looks like a total derp. I LOVE IT!

Up next: Oh, bacon in a cupcake? SOLD!

Just catching up on the DIS, so sorry to hear about the dental woes of you and Popadon! I had my wisdom teeth out two years ago and every time I took the pain meds I'd have to take a two hour nap, so I feel your pain. Hope things are a little better now!!

Welcome back from your trip!

We're much better now, thanks hon.

Yaay for feeling better, mouth pain is the worst!

You were able to get a picture of the ceiling in the Sistine Chapel?? I'm impressed! We were in Italy last summer, and I witnessed a security guy force a woman who had just taken a picture to show it to him on her digital camera so he could delete it!!

I love your dad's pink shirt...men should wear more pink IMHO.

Good for you for reusing your fork!

So glad you and your dad are doing better! I hope your apt with the Orthopedic goes well too! :goodvibes

Dale and I are going to do the 5k with Caitlin and we are so looking forward to cheering all you ladies on in the half :thumbsup2

Your nudel gratin looks so good. I will be looking for that at Food and Wine!
Thanks for the update!

Glad you're both feeling better! Congrats on registering for the marathon :thumbsup2

LOL at your mom cheating the system!

Funny PP pics!

Mmm that nudel gratin looks/sounds amazing!

Glad to hear that you and Popadon are feeling better.

Sounds like a fun day at Epcot!

Glad you're healing from getting the wisdom teeth out. I had a horrible experience with that which I will avoid talking about now so that I don't scare anyone who needs to get it done.

Also, I hope you can run soon. It is AWFUL being forced to take time off - so hard to get going again, it feels like! I was on a no-running diet (doctor's orders) from March through April to May, and I'm just now running 3 miles at a time again. It's crazy how far back it can set you if you're lazy like me. ;)

Ok, I want to eat that nudel gratin. But not the chicken and apples (?), that just sounds unappetizing to me!! I'm not a big fan of apples that are cooked - I don't like apple pie, for example.

That is hilarious that your mom danced in your face at SE!! Take THAT!

I actually heeded the "no pictures in the Sistene Chapel" admonition, but I love seeing them!

Yum, Yum, Yum! That all looks good.

How in the name of all that's good and holy did I miss that gratin?!?!??! Oh well, next time!

I can't believe mom danced in your face. :lmao::lmao::lmao: I'm surprised Dad didn't join her.

Okay, I am hunting for that Nudel Gratin when we are there in September. It looks out of this world. So does that shrimp dish.

I like the idea of the fork in the pocket...I'll do that in September as well.

Great pictures of the toparies. You had me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: on your description of Rafiki and Simba.

I'm glad you and your Pop are feeling better. Those photopass pictures are funny. Pink! Pink everywhere! That food looks so good and those topiaries are lovely. I look forward to reading more.

Super glad you're back and everything is right in the world now!!

Can't wait to read/hear all about your marathon experience! I'm going to try to run outside a few times when I move down and see how it goes with the humidity and stuff! Lol.

Love the updates! We never stopped at the goal post photo spot because I had no idea it was a photo op! Lol, love the ones you got!

You also got to many more food places than I did back in April, though everything you guys got looks amazing! I'll have to keep an eye out for the mac & cheese in Oct! Yay! UGH! GONNA EAT ALL THE FOODS!

first, glad you and your pop are feeling better! Hope you can start running soon.

Gotta admit, between the horse and checking Simba, there was a lot of mention of poop in this update ... and then mixed with lots of food of course

No idea what you guys were doing in that PP with the soccer topiary ... trying to use The Force to summon the ball?

I am picturing the three of you tussling over the noodle gratin and then the occasional scream of "not in the face!"

YAY, so very glad to hear you're both on the mend. That really is great news. Although, I do have to admit that I was looking forward to the loopy videos that were expected to materialize. Queue my disappointment when that didn't happen. :( But I am glad you're both on the mend.

Ha, your mom's a rebel!!! Take THAT FP+.

You know what I find fascinating about SE? No? Well I'll tell you. SE is great, but I would consider it one of the more obscure Disney rides. But ask anyone about the go-go boot wearing computer technician and EVERYONE knows what that is.

I am LOVING that F&G photopass photo. What a great spot.

And WOW... TWO poop references in one update! Well done!:thumbsup2

I've noticed that they began adding faces to the "face" topiaries. It's about time! They were kinda creepy before. Cool... but creepy.
