They Don't Eat Hash Browns in Princessland - May 14 COMPLETE! 2/8 pg. 73

Great update. I totally agree about how nice it is to be able to take it easy on a longer trip. Glad you were able to enjoy some calm moments.

Okay, that boy on Soarin' reminds me of something that happened on the trip that Imagineer5 and I took a couple weeks ago - only the boy was probably a few years younger and it was It's a Small World. Oh my goodness - he was so terrified (he didn't like Pirates and that ruined boat rides for him, apparently). They almost ended up directly behind us, but the boy was clutching the rails before the boat so tightly that his parents couldn't budge him and our boat left without them. Not sure if they forced him on or not, but I felt so bad for him. :sad2:

I noticed in a comment that you are planning a return to Star Wars Weekends. Do you have dates? Our tentative next trip is a Disney cruise during the week and the weekends before/after at WDW - most likely the 1st and 2nd weekends of SWW. The cruise is the week of the 18th, so the weekends around that. Would be cool if we overlapped! :goodvibes

My most favorite thing to do when staying at an Epcot resort is to take that morning run around Crescent Lake. I haven't done it in a few years, but now that I'm back to running again, well, mostly running with lots of walk breaks, I am going to try to get back out there in September. I figure it can't be much hotter there at 6am then it has been here this rainy summer.

Soarin' - Those kinds of events upset me. The kid was terrified and I can't see any reason he should have been forced onto a ride like that. I would have been giving those parents dirty looks if I was there.

We saw a little girl who was terrified about riding on Haunted Mansion. She was about five years old. Her dad took her on anyway. :(

Looks like a good start to your day!

Your top is too cute - I will have to check out Hot Topic. And too funny that you ran into your twin! :thumbsup2

Did the kid on Soarin not know what the ride was about?? Was he freaked out about heights or something?? In general I am not a fan of parents forcing their kids on rides but Soarin is pretty tame, I would say!

Great update!!! :thumbsup2 But being from the midwest, humidity bites on a daily basis during the summer... Is Disney humidity worse???

I kind of feel bad for the poor kid on Soarin'. It is a scary ride you know. ::yes:: Well at least according to my Uncle. :rotfl2: Thank goodness he didn't scream like the little kid but he did go on and on afterwards about how scary it was.

Loved this update!!! First, good for you for running! I am always torn about such things...I have this ongoing debate in my head that vacation is for relaxing. But, if I don't work out then am I losing ground? Will it be really sucky when I get home? Am I getting totes fat by eating all this food PLUS not working out? BUT ITS VACATION. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. I still am not sure why this is such a big focus in my head during vacation, but it is. #fwp

Big fan of your Disney clothes! I, too, frequent the Hot Topic Disney fare. I also occasionally find some good stuff at Target. What I REALLY want to do is learn to screen print my own stuff...how awesome would that be?? As great as it sounds, me and my lazy bum will not conquer that anytime soon.

OMG...that MOM. UGH. People are cray. There's another throat puncher.

Haha, that's what you get for having such an amazing and perfect first day. All downhill, lol. I know the feeling.

See, now if I had Disney views I would totally have no problem running every day. Yes, that's my excuse.

I can't stop laughing at the "Running" photo. Oh God here come the tears...

OK, second set of PP photos in your TR's that are normal looking. What happened????

Oh Lord Newbees. I don't know which is funnier. Whining about the free service having a small wait, or complaining about the long standby waits and swearing "Next time I'm going to buy the Fast Pass".

I still can't get over the fact that you and Caitlin had the exact same shirt on. I hope you bought a lottery ticket that day.

As someone who absolutely hates Soarin', I totally feel for that kid :rotfl: Honestly, though I don't understand why parent would force a kid who is freaking out onto a ride :confused3 It's not fun for them and it's def not fun for the other people on the ride.

Love the twins pic! You are both so cute :goodvibes

Good job on the running. I couldn't do it in that humidity.

Love the eye makeup! What palette is this from?

Some people are just clueless. It would have been hard for me to not speak up and mention thatt the standby line was 100 minutes.:rolleyes2

:lmao:love the sorin' experience you had. I remember sitting next to a woman who was absolutely terrified of heights and was gripping the bars like she was going to fall, but as the movie started she just started laughing! LIke hysterically! Even though she gripped through the entire ride, it was so cute to see her really enjoying herself and thinking how amazing it was. That's something I'll always remember.

Yay for twining!:cool1:

You are so good going for a run but the scenery did look good!

OMG I was laughing so much at the kid on Soarin, how could he not like it though?

I remember how gorgeous that Saturday was and it was my favorite running day of the entire week. Beautiful low humidity.

Too funny that you and Caitlin both wore the same shirt on the same day. I remember you posting that on FB. Definitely believe in the great minds theory.

OMG - that poor kid on Soarin. :rotfl: You must have been DYING! :rotfl: There was a lady like that on ToT when Cynthia and I rode. I have to say I actually started laughing at her mid ride and I NEVER laugh on ToT because I'm such a chicken.

Love your pictures. Beautiful pics of Epcot.

It really was a lovely morning. It continued to get more and more humid throughout the week, I just couldn't bring myself to get out there! :lmao:

I completely agree with the great minds theory. ;)

I was trying everything within my power not to die laughing at the kid. I mean, it was a lot. He was just being completely unreasonable and totally reminded me a bit of my nephew.

So admiring you right now not just for the expert makeup application, but running after a night of drinking. You are my hero and even made the concept of running of vacation not sound like the worst thing ever.

What an awesomely horrible soarin experience. No way I could have kept a straight face or been able to resist a selfie with the poor boy. #goodparentingeverywhere

Awww, thanks! It's really not so bad. You just have to get out there and do it. I plan on being more committed to it this upcoming trip in November.

Ooohhh, a selfie with the kid! That would have been epic.

You have a talent for cosmetology. Your makeup looks great!

Good for you for going for a run while on vacation! Something I've never done...

Oh my! That poor kid! I work with special needs kids and when I see kids acting like that in public, I figure there's probably more going on than meets the eye. Why his parents forced him to ride is beyond me!

Love your Sandlot gif. One of my favorite movies!

Your dad peeking around the tree just cracks me up!

Thank you so much!

I really wanted to try to get out there on this trip. I was glad I did, even though it was the only day I made it out. Caitlin is much more disciplined than I. I aspire to be like her with working out on vacation. :thumbsup2

It was an interesting exchange to watch. He was so convinced that it was going to be like Thunder Mountain, he could not be convinced otherwise. In the end, he was being a little tool, because he got better on the ride, started talking about the cool things, but then when they asked him how he liked it, he re-positioned himself into saying that it was the worst thing he'd done. :lmao:

Great pictures!!

You do get points for the run! I'm not a runner, but I do work out - although NOT at WDW!! I've tried it at BWV, but their elliptical doesn't work the way mine does (I'm sticking with that excuse!), and so I've given up on that. I will do sit-ups and push-ups in the room just to keep up muscle, but I think that all the walking we do there is plenty exercise for me on vacation!

The muesli looks tasty, we never go out for breakfast at WDW, but I love the choices in general at Sunshine Seasons, it's got something for everybody.

I can't believe that boy was so upset over Soarin, of all rides. And after he did it, he still didn't like it? Weird.:confused3

I'd worked out at the BWV on other trips, mostly on the treadmill. I was happy to get outside though, I much prefer it.

Walking is a ton of the exercise needed. I liked having the fitbit this time to see exactly how much I was doing.

After he rode it, he still told everyone he hated the ride. It was way over the top.

What a beautiful run! I'm proud of you for running on vacation. I so wanna be a runner. ::yes:: I tried last year and it didn't work out, but I'm trying again and hoping it sticks! How's your toe? Is it healing well?

I'm with Pop (that's what we called my Grandad. I have a soft spot for that name). I love a big breakfast. :)

That poor kid. I feel bad for him...even if it is a little funny. ;)

I was proud of myself too! My toe is doing okay. It's got some bruising that's causing the majority of the pain. It's more of an irritation than anything else, because I have to be so careful with it and make sure I'm not bending it a ton. It's more annoying than anything else.

My Pop could eat breakfast all of the time! I love it too, I just don't eat huge breakfast. Even though, it's actually better to eat a large breakfast and smaller meals the rat of the day.

It was funny. I felt bad, because they should have just taken him off the ride, but it was still pretty humorous.

Oh, and your dad looks like a total stalker in that tree pic! :rotfl:

He does, right?!

All caught up here too!!!!

I did Boardwalk on a "fly " trip, I will do Beach Club on a drive trip. ;) How nice the room was ready, I am still having an issue getting texts.
3 DIS meets in one day :worship:

I know now that both Cynthia and Mary Ellen have gotten their disks but I feel bad it took me so long. :( Work has been a bear so I felt like I totally dropped the ball.

Mexico had great eats for F & G. I never made it back to the tilapia but spicy and me do not go well together.

Can't believe I missed SWW by thismuch. Could not be helped I was just lucky to get to go at all. My May is your October, not budget but getting ready for summer.

Your Pop is a nut. You all have so much fun and that is great. From the bra to the death by sugar in the cupcake.

I giggled every time I saw those DHS PP pics.

The boy on Soarin'... :sad2: I mean I get a fear but sometimes kids just go into acting mode.

I did have a ride once where as soon as we were buckled in a lady lost it- total panic attack. They had to undo all the belts and escort her out. She was apologizing but she was in an all out panic. That is fear. She thought she could but at the last moment her mind and body said NOPE.

Nice haul from Darth's Mall. :)

I love making sure that I get moments to just relax and take my time on long trips. Actually I try to do that on all trips now. They feel more rewarding that way.

Oh man, a terrified child on It's a Small World?! I've totally never heard that happen before.

I am going back for Star Wars Weekends! My brother and I are going over Memorial Day weekend, because all we need to do is take one day off to get a four day weekend. We want the focus to be on SWW more than anything.

My most favorite thing to do when staying at an Epcot resort is to take that morning run around Crescent Lake. I haven't done it in a few years, but now that I'm back to running again, well, mostly running with lots of walk breaks, I am going to try to get back out there in September. We saw a little girl who was terrified about riding on Haunted Mansion. She was about five years old. Her dad took her on anyway. :(

That run is beautiful, I would stay there every trip just to do the run. Definitely get out there in September! You'll love it.

I think sometimes you have to bit the bullet and do something you don't want to do. It just depends. My nephew tries to back out of everything, so we make him go on everything. Because if we allowed him to back out, he wouldn't go on anything at all! But, he doesn't have the degree of meltdown that kid had, so I think you just have to know your kids. Plus, I mean, you're making other peoples ride miserable!

You definitely have to check Hot Topic! They're Disney selection is awesome!

They explained the entire ride to him and he was just freaking out. He was being a bit unreasonable, but that was just my outsider opinion. The parents knew exactly what the ride was, and he was just digging in his heels.

"Anyway, onward! To less fun." oh, a funny line, but that is kinda sad. Though, definitely coming down from a high spot ... not like it started low and you went down from there

And good for you going for a run - that was a funny "how you think you look / how you really look image" ... but I am sure most of the people were looking at you with respect. Maybe a little "wow, she's kinda crazy" but mostly respect

gotta say, you make for a pretty Storm Trooper ;)

"Dang Disney. How dare you offer a free service, and then ask us to wait five minutes. The nerve of you!" I sometimes feel like saying that in general with all the FP+ um, rhymes with Witching ... like, they didn't have to give you any Fast Passes or they could have charged you extra for the privilege

"NO SHE WON'T! MOM DOESN'T CARE!!!" poor kid :( ... reminds me of the last time we rode Everest via single rider line and was next to a young girl who yelled "CURSE YOU YETI!!!!!" the entire ride ... was trying not to laugh at, er, with her. Yeah, with her, that's it

oooh, the jalapeño margarita is really good. They can make it normal, or really spice ... or, if you ask nice, they can make a habanero version :thumbsup2

Love your Maleficent shirt and your makeup!

Great F&G photos :)

LOL, I'm glad noone died on Soarin!

Thanks!

I was grateful no one died on Soarin' too. It was a good day. :rotfl2:

Great update!!! :thumbsup2 But being from the midwest, humidity bites on a daily basis during the summer... Is Disney humidity worse???

I find Florida humidity to be up a notch from ours here. I mean, it's stinking humid during the summer here, but Florida is a bit worse. They also were having unseasonably warm weather that week. One of the days was 100 degrees! In May!

I kind of feel bad for the poor kid on Soarin'. It is a scary ride you know. ::yes:: Well at least according to my Uncle. :rotfl2: Thank goodness he didn't scream like the little kid but he did go on and on afterwards about how scary it was.

Bahahaha, according to your uncle, huh? That's pretty funny. And hysterical too that he went on and on about how scary it was. :lmao:

OMG...that MOM. UGH. People are cray. There's another throat puncher.

I have the same thought process when going on vacation. In November, I have to stick with it, because the half marathon is in February, and I cannot lose any ground for that!

I've found good stuff at Target too! That would be cool to do your own screen printing. But I'm totally with you on the lazy part. I don't think I'd get around to it either.

I think I'm going to start a new sequence when I'm in Disney, called: You Deserve a Throat Punch.

Haha, that's what you get for having such an amazing and perfect first day. All downhill, lol. I know the feeling.

See, now if I had Disney views I would totally have no problem running every day. Yes, that's my excuse.

It's all downhill from here. People should just bail out of the TR now, before it's too late. :rotfl2:

That photo completely an utterly represents what it's like to run. How you totally view yourself running and what you actually look like.

Similar to what I feel like planking:

I don't know what happened with our PP pictures. I mean, we can be normal sometimes, right?!

Sadly, I did not buy a lottery ticket that day. But dang, I should have.

I don't know why either, it certainly as not fun for us on the ride. :lmao:

It was just so funny that we were wearing the same thing! That will forever go down in DIS history.

Good job on the running. I couldn't do it in that humidity.

Some people are just clueless. It would have been hard for me to not speak up and mention thatt the standby line was 100 minutes.:rolleyes2

Yay for twining!:cool1:

Thanks hon!

That makeup I used the Sugarpill Sweetheart palette and then......some random black, I do not remember. :rotfl2:

Hmmm, I'm guessing that she was laughing hysterically because she couldn't control her emotions? :rotfl2: Soarin'...I mean who knew?

You are so good going for a run but the scenery did look good!

OMG I was laughing so much at the kid on Soarin, how could he not like it though?

It was a beautiful run!

I was completely at a loss regarding why he was so terrified, but meh.....what can you do, right?

All caught up here too!!!!

I did Boardwalk on a "fly " trip, I will do Beach Club on a drive trip. ;) How nice the room was ready, I am still having an issue getting texts.
3 DIS meets in one day :worship:

You're still having issues getting texts?! Dude, it's a conspiracy. :lmao:

It was a great day! I can never top three DISmeets.

I know now that both Cynthia and Mary Ellen have gotten their disks but I feel bad it took me so long. :( Work has been a bear so I felt like I totally dropped the ball.

Oh, it's okay! I'm sure everyone totally understands. Work comes first my friend.

Mexico had great eats for F & G. I never made it back to the tilapia but spicy and me do not go well together.

Yup, spicy and I don't get along well either.

Can't believe I missed SWW by thismuch. Could not be helped I was just lucky to get to go at all. My May is your October, not budget but getting ready for summer.

I know, we just missed each other!

Your Pop is a nut. You all have so much fun and that is great. From the bra to the death by sugar in the cupcake.

I giggled every time I saw those DHS PP pics.

My Pop is really silly. He's a fun guy, and for me, I feel like that's normal. People who have parents that are dull I just don't understand. It's like "wait...your Dad doesn't do that?!" :lmao:

Those PP turned out great.

You hit the nail right on the head. He was in full on acting mode for sure.

Wow, that's crazy about the lady having a panic attack!

"Anyway, onward! To less fun." oh, a funny line, but that is kinda sad. Though, definitely coming down from a high spot ... not like it started low and you went down from there

Hahaha, that's just my sarcasm coming out at full force. :rotfl2: And also a disclaimer in case suddenly people become bored.

And good for you going for a run - that was a funny "how you think you look / how you really look image" ... but I am sure most of the people were looking at you with respect. Maybe a little "wow, she's kinda crazy" but mostly respect

I'm sure. I used to be that person, looking at runners like they were crazy, but on the inside being inspired by them. Hopefully I can pass some of that on.

gotta say, you make for a pretty Storm Trooper ;)

:goodvibes Aw, shucks.

YES! YES YES YES YES YES to the Nth degree! That's exactly how I feel! Stop complaining! I know that there are tweaks that can be made, but for real. They could just pull a Universal and start making you pay. Grrrrrr......

Curse you Yeti! That's awesome!

Ooohhh, they can make a habanero version? I'm going to have to tell my brother that.
