They do close the gangway…

Wait. They closed it after letting some passengers off? Or they just never opened it?

The pier closed due to lightening they let passengers off not sure what they did on the island. Also sun is out! Will do a tr when we get back.

I was on a double dip to Castaway on the Dream several years ago and the first day we docked and crew got off to set up and a few guests got off - then weather came up. They thought from all reports it was going to blow over quickly. Well, crew and the guests who had gotten off had to hunker down in the restrooms until golf carts could get out to get them. Once they were back on board, the gangway closed (well, the only "open" was for them to get back on). And never reopened all day because the squall did NOT blow over. The captain apologized and said if their weather forecasts had remotely indicated the squall was not going to be gone quickly they never would have docked.

Thankfully we had a second day.

I'd imagine they have the guests hunkering down in restrooms or other buildings until the storm passes. Hopefully it will be soon!!

They closed it during the storm. Many of us were already off and on the island when the heavy rain started and just sheltered until the storm passed. After that, the day was beautiful and everything dried out very quickly.
