They charge for infants?

You bring up a legit question that a lot of folks face. Is it worth the cost to take an infant on a cruise?
As my "baby" just turned 18 years old, I'm not the best to answer that. But I know we waited until age 4 to take the kids to the parks, and in hindsight, for us......we probably should have waited until 7 or 8.

When you take your kids as babies, you're taking them for your sake. When you take them as older kids, you're taking them for their sake. :)

My daughter first went to Disneyland at 18 months. She won't remember a lick of it, but my wife and I got some GREAT photos and even more amazing memories.

6 months later, we cruised with her. Same kind of situation - she had a great time, and won't remember any of it. But my wife and I will. :)

To hijack further... :rolleyes1

I just have to say, your daughter is the cutest thing ever!! I've told DH that if he could guarantee me a daughter :cloud9: , we'd have one tomorrow. ;) I'm just too scared I'd end up with a boy that would be a hellion like my nephews. :rotfl:

Thank you! :)

And LOL at the boy/girl thing! Even the girls have their moments too. TRUST me!!! :)

This post got me thinking so I just went back to my paperwork. Our DD turns 3 on 4/19 and we leave on the 4/25 tortola. She's a full paying customer at $1,241.09 for a matter of 6 days... Passports for 2 year olds look funny... then again, I got my first passport when I was 37 so I feel it's all worth it.

The other posters are right, 200.00 even for a toddler is well worth it on a Disney Cruise. You children will have the time of their lives. I'm always surprised when my kids remember things about our vacations when they were very young. When we vacation, everyone goes, even if your 6 mos old!!!

Wow.. this is going to be my first Disney Cruise.
I don't know how you guys pay in the neighborhood of $6000 for a family of 3 to cruise to the Caribbean. Is the Disney Cruise really worth that?
I have paid $6000 for a European cruise.
Having never been on a Disney cruise I have no idea...but it just seems like a lot of money, especially during these times.
Its really not fair the discounts they are giving to those of us that live in Florida. Last night I paid $1500 for the 3 of us for a seven day magic cruise. To hear $6000 for the same cruise is just jawdropping.

The different categories vary widely in price on the same cruise.

The question as to weather or not it is worth it can only be answered by you after your first cruise. Disney can charge what they do, because people like myself and my husband and othes are willing to pay. Disney has much higher standards and better quality than most other lines. You get what you pay for with Disney. Honestly, $250 for your baby, is practically nothing for the memories you will get from being onboard. As another poster said, also remember tips are per person, including infants. Babies do create work for the staff, weather they are active or not. But try not to worry that much about the cost, and get ready to enjoy your cruise!

It's not just discounts to FL residents. Cost really depends on the category and the dates. For my DD's high school graduation, I've booked cabins for 3 people for under $1900 for the cabin. The cost was $599 per person + about $50 tax. The third person was even cheaper.(a little). OK, so we won't have balconies...do I care?
