They Call Me MISTER PIG- He Said, She Said (9/1 Lights, Thunder, Fantasmic? Page 47)

Aww! I love that! He said he wanted to try therapy. I spend today making appointments. Oh yeah. He changed his mind. No therapy for him. :headache: I give up. He's on his own. I tried.

-Becca-

 stay strong, I am sorry he continues to keep you on this emotional roller coaster. You are in my prayers.

he can't keep changing his mind. It's either he wants therapy or not. He can not send you on a rollar coaster ride of emotions every time he has changed his mind. Tell him to make up his mind, it's not far to you...geez. I hope you and the kids are doing well. We all love you.

 He just doesnt know what he wants does he? :sad2: Counseling would have been good for you both. Its a terrible thing he is putting you through. I'm so sorry Becca. You and the kids deserve better. I'm still praying for you and your family.

He honestly doesn't have a clue what he wants. He is so damn wishy washy. He called last night and apologized. He thinks He needs to see a psycharist. He has been pretty depressed so I think that is a good thing. But he doesn't think there is a real chance for him and I so we don't need couples counseling.:confused3

I am having a damn hard time getting a flight out. Its upsetting since the funeral is tomorrow.

On the plus side I taught Cat how to add and subtract with regrouping today. She caught on so fast. I feel a little bad for her first grade teacher. She is going to be a handful next year. We are almost done reading A Little Princess. Anyone have any suggestions of books that might help her with this? Something I can read with her?

Also I am SO behind on PM's I keep meaning to get to them. I read everything I promise and I am so grateful for all the support I have found her on the Disboards. I might even try to finish the rest of the TR. It will only be a She Said but I figured that was better than nothing.

OK, Becca, the more I read, the more this sounds like something that happened to me years ago with a serious boyfriend. He literally woke up one morning and his feelings had all changed. He did go to see a psychiatrist, who diagnosed a chemical imbalance. He went on some meds, and very soon he was back to his old self.

Not saying this is the same with He, but maybe seeing a psychiatrist our counselr individually would help him to see that he needs marriage counseling. I know you still love him, and I find it hard to believe that his feelings could change so suddenly. Please encourage him to get the counseling he needs, but do not stop protecting yourself, and try not to open yourself up to vulnerability, in case things continue down the current path.

 I totallly have a story for you that I went through but I'll tell you in PM because its lengthy. AGH More PM's to catch up on!

I'm sorry about not being easy to get a flight. I cant remember if you said where the funeral was.

Junie B Jones books are great and so is the Magic Tree House series. They are chapter books. A couple of the kids in Morgan's 1st grade class could read these from the beginning of the school year. Most worked up to them. It sounds like Cat is a smart cookie so they might be right up her alley. Morgan loves them and reads a couple chapters a night.

The Funeral is San Antonio. My dad works for the airlines so I can fly standby... the problem is there is no open seats. I have been trying for days to get out.

Cat actually has finished all the published so far Magic Tree House and Junie B Books! I found her the Babysitter Club Little Sister books on ebay and she has been reading those but I need something I can read to her. The Little Sister book turned out to be smart since Karen's family is divorced and she has two houses.

I was going to start Anne of Green Gables but with the death at the end and Cat being so fragile I am rethinking that. I love our reading time. Its so nice to cuddle up with her and good story.

:thumbsup2 Ok if she has finished all those books I understand why she was a candidate for skipping a grade! :lmao: Go CAT! Morgan is just getting into them and she'll be in 2nd grade this year. I've heard great things about Stephanie Meyer books but to be honest I havent checked them out so I have no clue if they would be age appropriate. I am of no help! :rotfl:

I don't even know what to say to you. All I know is time will make it better. If I were you I would probably just ignore him for the most part and take care of yourself and the kiddos. He's not worth your energy. I know some people have said just by looking at him he doesn't deserve you, but I like to keep that out of it because most women I know including myself, are not with the GQ kind of guys. He is someone you loved and trusted enough to marry and have children with and that's what mattered. But based solely on his actions he doesn't deserve you. You know what you want out of life and are working on making it a reality. I hope you are able to stay in school so you can make a nice life for your family including trips to Disney! My heart goes out to you and I as well as everyone else are always here for you. I'm also sorry to hear of your loss. I know it must be especially hard to deal with that along with everything else. You should really try to get some counseling for yourself as well to deal with your feelings. There are great resources out there. Take care! :lovestruc

I have never read these books but I did a search on children's book about divorce and these came up. Some may be too young for Cat but maybe she could read them to the Baby. That way she can "help" him work it out also without feeling like the books are for babies. I hope they have some at your local library and if not, I think He should have to pay for half if you get them a the store. Hope this helps.

I have a 7 yr old and she likes reading (or listening on CD) to Amber Brown books. Its a series about a girls whose parents are divorced. She also likes Junie B, Magic Tree House, Magic School Bus, the Boxcar Children. My Weird School series, A to Z Mysteries (one for each letter of the alphabet). One we liked to read together was Sarah Plain and Tall and the sequel, Skylark. Charlottes Web? I am trying to think of some that my kids like to read or have read to them (I teach kindergarten). Nate the Great is funny. ALso she likes horse so they have something called Horseland and also Pony Pals I think. Jigsaw Jones mysteries or what about those Faries books - they have weather fairies, jewel faries. They are written by a woman named (get this..) Daisy Meadows! LOL! The Cam Jansen series is about a girl detective and one of our favorites is Socks by Beverly Cleary.

Can you tell I love books, kids and grown ups??! I had thought about becoming a librarian before I became a teacher. Any questions, please PM me. I would be glad to talk books or anything else with you.

Hope you are feeling better today.:flower3:

The Little Princess is one of my very favorite books of all time! Have you read the Little House series to her? I loved those book, still do in fact. The Secret Garden is another favorite and by the same author as The Little Princess.

I totally forgot about the Little House books! I loved those as a kid. Need to get her into those ASAP... And what happened to staying off the Dis until you had written another TR chapter hmmmmmm?

Another one for today. Hang in there Becca!

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do.

Oooh... I really like that one, I've only ever heard the last sentence.

Hope you are all well, Becca. I wanted to add one more piece of advice in amongst this- do what you feel is best for all of you, while always watching out for all of you- even if the two seem to contradict at times. Does that make sense?

Hope you got your flight out, and sorry for your loss.

That was my last post before my self imposed banishment.

Another book suggestion- Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH.

Morning Becca!! Just checking in on you! I wanted to see how your doing! Keep staying strong girl!! I know you can!

Hi! I'm only half way through your TR, but wanted to comment on how lucky you were to get Goofy on the coaster.
You have some nice pictures too.

Aww thanks! It was a huge highlight of the trip and Cat talks about it everyday.
