They are asking for ID even for just the 2-day hoppers!

I had heard about the 4-5 day hoppers, but we were just there last week (the 27th and 28th) and we had 2-day hoppers, and they made us write our names on the back with their pen (no problem) and then we had to show our IDs each time. I understand why, but it sure does slow the lines down.

I guess it's a good thing that they are finally trying to crack down on all of the fraud that was going on, but I think they should do what other theme parks do, and just utilize the finger print scanner- it would make things a lot faster!

So just as a heads up...have your ID's ready!

They need to put some sort of sign up so people are aware when they get in line. That way they can get their ID out before they get to the ticket taker. I'm actually glad they're making people show ID. The less people cheat the system the better it is for everyone else.

They might as well just install the WDW fingerprint scanners.

Yeah, I definitely agree that they need to put signs up to let people know.... it definitely slows down the process, especially when people show up before the park opens trying to get RSR fast passes.

I also think there should be an express lane for Annual Pass holders as it's usually a quicker process for them.

Personally, I hate being THAT person in line that holds everyone up because I am caught off guard and end up fishing through my purse looking for my ID!

We were there last week and there are signs that say multiple day passes require ID. Also the CM told us to have it out each time we entered either park even with a hand stamp.

Yep, on Saturday there were signs up and a CM walking the lines telling everyone to have their IDs ready.

The CM's also need to tell people to have their park tickets out as well.

Going thru the GCH entrance to DCA we were behind two people (who I think were in the Anaheim area for a convention and had no knowledge of Disneyland). They were asking the bag check CM's if this was Disneyland, and then how do they get into Disneyland. Then they walked up to the CM ticket taker and they did not realize they needed to show their tickets. Then they could not find them in their caverness purses.

Yeah as I said in the three day ID required thread we had to show our ID's for two days passes as well. I did notice that for the first entry of the day they always wanted to see both me and my wife's ID, and not the kids of course. However for re-entry I just showed them my ID, and they just checked my wife and kids hand-stamps.

Although that brings up an interesting point. If you have a ticket and a hand-stamp, and they are checking ID's the first time you enter the park for the day, why would they need to check your ID again? Are counterfeit hand stamps an issue too?

I believe the ink is pretty standard. It's just a dye that glows under blacklight and should be easy to buy. I had a CM tell me to get my hand stamped again on my way out if I wanted to return because it was barely there.

I think after a while the stamps can be barely visible. A smudge might even pass for a good stamp.

I'm not sure why they can't just dispense with the hand stamps and go with wrist bands for reentry.

As stated above, there are signs and CMs telling people to have tickets and i.d. ready for the turnstiles. While there definitely could be larger signs and louder CMs, Disney isn't responsible for the clueless people out there who don't read or listen.

And Disney has said that they have no intention of installing the biometric scanners at DLR. Those scanners require more space than the current turnstiles allow, so some turnstiles would have to be removed. That would create even longer lines for entry. They do plan on installing RFID technology at the gates withing the next year or so. If people are ready with legitimate tickets, i.d., and handstamps (for re-entry), the lines move reasonably quickly.

Ya tell me about it...all Weekend long I was in a line where I had to wait for ever to get through because they were checking IDs signatures everything .... I really think they should have a couple separate lines for people with APs because all they need to do is scan ours and it takes two seconds but yet we have to wait for ever to get through because they have to check everything it was a pain in the butt!!!

We just got back and we had 4 day PH tickets. On Friday we went in at DCA with signed tickets and ID and had no issue. On Saturday we went to DL with the same tickets and got pulled out of line because we had signed out tickets with a regular pen. Apparently they only want you signing the tickets with an ultra fine sharpie at the gates which is probably why the lines were taking so long.

I've read that the reason CMs want you to sign with their pen is because the ticket renters are having people sign with dry erase markers, then wiping the tickets clean for the next renter.

We were there the 28 & 29th, and yes the entry lines take awhile. Be forewarned it'll shave about 10 - 15 minutes off your MM/EMH. Lots of unorganization as well. Hopefully they'll work the kinks out soon.

Ummm... because people will share wristbands.

Disney is not to blame for trying to enforce the correct usage of their product (i.e. Tickets are non-transferable). Blame the giant number of people who share tickets in a variety of ways. They are responsible for the current enforcement measures.

That wasn't what I had in mind. I've been issue a number different wristbands that don't come off without being destroyed. I've seen hospitals issue this plastic thing with a metal clip that needs to be cut off. Some places issue Tyvek wristbands after showing proof of age to purchase alcohol. I've tried removing one without scissors and will either tear or warp badly. Then there are the plastic ones with a plastic clip. I remember wearing one at a water park that was even color coded for time (our admission was only for one hour). Some amusement parks issue them for unlimited rides.

I can't see that taking time to strap wrist bands on the all guests would save any time over checking ID. Actually, I'm pretty sure that would take longer and be an added cost- which Disney would not hesitate to pass on to the guests. Not to mention, I would hate to wear a wristband all day long. And it would be one more thing to possibly lose and have a problem with.

I was thinking of it more as a replacement for hand stamps. Once I get a hand stamp I feel paranoid about getting it wet and washing my hands. They would still want to check ID.

I've also never had one come off. They're usually about as tight on a wrist as a watch and don't come off.
