Im amazed at how many people feel the need to put words in other peoples mouths.....please point out to me where i stated my research info was based on the bible???? I know that it is common to blame religion....and yes it makes sense. The common denominator is Secularism, and as we all know, the biggest obstacle to a secular society is organized religion, but not everyone who does not believe in the gay (chosen) lifestlye does so based on religion. You are 100% correct, homosexuality is NOT a disease, it is a choice. You seem to be like so many other "freedom of expression and speech" fanatics... UNLESS i say something you dont agree with. IF you want me to respect you opinion, you have to respect mine. I doubt anyone makes this choice when they are 6 years old, so that is an invalid arguement. And your "brainwashing" comment was at most, laughable. If you want to talk about brainwashing, spend some time in the public school system...which is exactly why my children are homeschooled!!!!

Just because someone is debating an arguement with you does not mean that they no longer believe in "freedom of speech". Everyone else has as much right to their opinions and the right to express them as you do. This is what is commonly known as a debate.

On another point, just because someone is a Christian doesn't automatically mean that they agree with Fore2213. I am a church going Christian and couldn't disagree with him more.

OK, here is the waiter thing. I did not mention to the waiter why i wanted to be moved, i simply asked for a window seat so my kids could see fireworks. The real reason i asked was this.....my 7y.o. asked the waiter about a Tinkerbell pin he had......he didnt answer her about that but pointed out another pin he had that was the rainbow mickey mouse head. He said this is the most important pin he has and that she needs to be nice and smile to people when she sees a pin like that. If he just did his job and not bring that up to MY child, i would not have said a word. But you have to agree that was not the time of place for a CM to say something like that. I was outraged and went to the manager after the meal (thanks to that movie) and demanded somthing be done. This is the best part. He spoke to the waiter in private and the waiter denied saying a word, BUT, i happend to have my vid camera going when he did....and played it back to manager. The manager said this CM has had other commplaints. I personally hope he was terminated. I am a reactive person...dont bother me and ill leave you alone, but that was over the top

I wouldn't worry about the kids. I know a person who is very racist, to the point of not eating in restaurants that have too many blacks working there. The kids are at an age where they shrug it off and say "Mom's in one of her anti black moods again" :confused3

But I would worry about eating in a restaurant after you let the staff know how you feel about one of their co-workers. Go rent the movie "Waiting" - it's all about the service industry, and what really goes on in the kitchen once you upset the staff. Sad but true, these things happen. I just cant imagine going into a restaurant, proclaiming that you don't want to be served by a certain person because they are gay, and actually staying to eat! Your braver than I am!!!!

As far as the choice things goes, nobody chooses to be gay, they just choose to accept it and to deal with it.

I meant no offense. Usually those who dont have a tolerance of gays, base it on the bible seeing it as wrong. I assumed that is the "proof" he was speaking of.

I didn't think you did. I just don't like being lumped in that group because I am a Christian.

OT-but I was thinking exact same thing. Brought up visions of a past 20/20 show.

Fore2213,

This is why we have such animosity in this world because of people like yourself. I am not saying that you have to "like homosexuals" but you should tolerate them, have they every done anything to you to make you dislike them so much that you "assumed" your server was gay so you asked to have a new one? Everything that you have said in your posts it is a shame. I do not feel that you have been educated correctly on why someone is gay, they are born that way.

You should be tolerant of all people not matter what, EVEN IF you don't agree with what they do behind closed doors mind you. That is why there are hate crimes because children and adults aren't educated about people being different, THEY ARE. You did not answer my one question to you, are you a christian or not?

:rotfl:

Are you serious? There are moments in life when you have to smile and nod at what people are saying to you, and then when they leave you can express your opinion to those around you. God forbid someone try and be personable with you. Ive had waiters say inapropriate things to me. Having been a server, i know that sometimes you're grasping at straws with people whod rather not have a conversation with a waiter. But its your job to try and be personable so you say whatever. I just think you're taking it all too seriously. Get over these minor details, and you'll live a happier life.

Anyone else find it ironic that someone who refused to be served by a waiter they though was gay is bragging about/defending it on a site owned by a gay man?

I was thinking about going to Gay days as well but was worried about "catching" their disease....ermm..I mean chosen lifestyle. My Aunt is gay and I always thought to myself....I had better not go on those family trips with her cause I might expose myself to those Gay tendencies. In fact, just reading this thread has me thinking about my sexuality. All this talk about tolerance and loving your fellow brothers and sisters, has "turned me"....my GF won't be too happy about this.

OP. I would be more worried about the how busy the MK will be than the type of people that will be there.

Do you have that big of a problem that you do not want your children exposed to gay people? Okay, I agree some people may do things that are over the top, but that it with anyone gay or straight.

One day your children are going to be exposed to the real world and in the real world gay people exists. Why not use the time as an example to teach your children about different people, rather than shield them?

I don't have a problem with my children being exposed to gay people. I have a problem with my children seeing PDA from gay people. But then again, I have a problem with my children seeing PDA from straight people. Do I care if people, gay or straight hold hands? NO! Do I care if they are engaged in activities that I do behind a locked bedroom door? YES! It is inappropriate behavior. Period! I think people are correct to attempt to protect their children from this behavior. Gay Days, by devoting a weekend to gay relationships, does encourage PDA. For the record, I also do not go during Pop Warner for the same reason.

As for my children being exposed to the "real world"... parents make daily decisions about what their children should be exposed to, and this is no different. Would you take your child to an R rated movie? A party with drugs and over indulgence in alcohol? Same difference. We are not bigots because we decide our children are too young to be exposed. We are responsible because we decide when they are mature enough to handle it before exposing them.

So puddleduck, your post is very clear. You are one of those "pick and choose" christians. What i mean is, you call your sef a Christian, but you only follow the parts of the bible that suit you. There are many out there like you, the sad truth is, if you do this, you are NOT a true Christian. Not that i was dragging religion into this discussion, but if you do a little reading, you will see the bible states CLEARLY, that man shall not lay with man as with woman. A christian arguement can be made stating that if you truely believe as a Christan should, you know a practicing homosexual will not get into heaven because homosexuality is a sin in itself....that being said, God would not let anyone be born with NO chance to get into heaven. You have to earn it and a true Christian knows that. You dont just get into heaven being a "nice" person all your life. A real Christian knows what it takes to get to Heaven. And it is true, you dont have to like what they do, but you should love them as a person and hope they can change their lives.

Just because someone is debating an arguement with you does not mean that they no longer believe in "freedom of speech". Everyone else has as much right to their opinions and the right to express them as you do. This is what is commonly known as a debate.

No need to cop an attitude here. Some people don't appreciate graphic public displays of effection by anyone.

Here, here to that! I can't tell you how many times we've been trapped behind teenage "straight" couples that have practically been doing the "dirty deed" while waiting in line for an attraction. It's like: "Excuse me, can you please unwrap yourselves from each other and keep the line moving!". It really is embarrassing for the people around them and in all my visits to any Disney properties I have never witnessed a gay couple even holding hands.

I just found this out myself.....had i only known....DUH!!!!:rotfl2:

Deuteronomy 22

I personally hope he was terminated.

Over a trading pin? WOW! Can you seriously tell me you think this guy should loose his job and insurance benefits over a trading pin with a rainbow on it?

Yes, a real Christian does know what it takes to get into Heaven. It takes accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior, and I have done that. No, I am not a pick and choose Christian. And just so you know, we are ALL practicing sinners. That is the reason Jesus died on the cross. You sin, I sin, we all sin. I have yet to find the passage in the bible that lists homosexaully as the worst sin of all time. I would never be so blasphmeous as to take the role of God and think that I know who will and who will not be let into Heaven. I am sure God thanks you for your input.

I've heard this argument before. I'm a practicing Christian, and I think this is one of the weakest arguments you could ever make Fore2213.

Leviticus also says that children who curse their parents should be put to death (Lev. 20:9). Do you support capital punishment for minors? Yes or no?

Adulterers, mediums, and those who curse God, according to Leviticus, should also suffer the same fate (Lev. 20:10, 20:27, and 24:16). Are you advocating that we use capital punishment on Newt Gingrich, Bill Clinton, Ted Haggard and Rudy Guiliani (mayor of New York City on 9/11/01)? Because they are all well known adulterers, you see. So if you are following all of Levitical law, then surely you want these men put to death, right?

We’re instructed never to eat any kind of seafood other than fish (Lev. 11:10). So that would mean you want them to eliminate the shrimp cocktail at the Coral Reef right? Let me know when your PR campaign starts.

And of course, lots of straight college students must be condemned as well, because Levitical law says not to wear tattoos (Lev. 19:28), and lots of college kids have them nowadays. Let me take this opportunity to remind you that you have to hide your children from the evil that is Pirates of the Carribbean, lest they see a more men with tattoos.

Continuing along with Leviticus...don't forget that you cannot eat pork (Lev. 11:7). So please let me know when you start your petition against the California Grill's grilled Pork Tenderloin, okay?

Lastly, do not forget that you cannot wear clothing made of mixed fibers (Lev. 19:19), so that rules out almost ALL of of the Disney t-shirts, because most of them are blends. It also rules out the princess dresses, and the Buzz Lightyear outfits.

So much for being a "pick and choose Christian".

You have to earn it and a true Christian knows that. You dont just get into heaven being a "nice" person all your life. A real Christian knows what it takes to get to Heaven. And it is true, you dont have to like what they do, but you should love them as a person and hope they can change their lives.

Actually a true Christian knows that you could never "earn" your way into Heaven. Thank God, because if we did none of us would make it.
