After EE, we decided to go over to try to hit the Safari early. On the way, we ran into two new characters for us:
I love seeing characters we've never met before! Good thing Kristin's autograph books have blank, non-specific pages in them, because these two were certainly NOT accounted for.
We continue on...whoa!
Terk? Are you serious? Who are we going to see next, Flik?
You're kidding. Flik? Really? I've gotta get in on this one:
We take a moment from the Obscure Character Bonanza to get a picture of some tree...
...then enter Kilimanjaro Safaris. The standby line is short enough (20 minutes), so we're riding. Are you ready for a ton of animal pics? Alright, then, here they come!
Well, ok, that's just a sign. But these are not signs:
This one is apparently putting hay on his/her head to keep off the sun:
You can't see these two, but it's a mom and a kid trunk wrestling. VERY cool!
I like this one because it looks like the guy behind me is pointing out the next animal as a service to my readers. Thanks, man!
And we actually saw a lion:
And we saw this, too:
But not in the Safari. Here's a closeup:
Emily was supposed to be in that picture, but I don't know what happened. I never saw DeVine pose with people before, so that's interesting. Last year, I ran for my life as she nearly impaled me on one of her stilts. I would say she's becoming much more guest-friendly, wouldn't you?
We get what would have been an incredible shot, had Emily not insisted on holding her nose:
Oh well, what can you do? Speaking of "what can you do", the kids are actually being relatively good today. Let's hope it keeps up.
We grab FPs for Kali River Rapids, partly because Dylan wants to ride and partly because it's stinkin' hot out. I wasn't impressed with that ride the only other time I rode it, but we'll see.
