Hey Mayers! What's Shakin'???? ME!!!! :rotfl2::cool1::lmao:

I was watching TV at my MIL's house when the earthquake hit. First it was a jolt, then a increasing shaking rumble for like 10-15 seconds. Nothing fell or broke at her house. At my place, a chair and some bags of chips fell off the fridge. Chris was home alone, he was a bit scared, but he was ok. 4.7 quake - a good size shaker - the firetrucks were out searching the city for damage, especially the freeways and overpasses. Cell phones lines were jammed for about an hour - couldn't make any calls, just text.

The epicenter was in Inglewood - which is near LAX. About 10-12 miles away from our house, so it was very close. The fault it happen on was the same fault that the big earthquake in Long Beach back in 1933. My grandmother experienced that one - 6.3!

My friends in San Diego and Riverside felt this quake - over 150 - 200 miles away. I haven't felt any aftershocks since the first shock - still though, it was a good reminder to make sure my earthquake stuff was ready. You never know if this could be a pre-courser to a bigger one in a couple hours, days, weeks or months.

Jo - May in California can be warm in the days and cool at night. Since you are near the ocean, expect the early morning haziness, which will burn off by 9 or 10. Definitely use sunscreen, even in the mornings, the UV goes through the haze and clouds. We have been having nice warm weather the last few weeks, so I expect it to be very nice when you come here. So bring those nice summer clothes, a sweater, and don't forget your flashlights, in case there is a shake or two. :)

oh yeah- they said I have "dense breasts".

Like they have an IQ of um, 3.

That just made me laugh out loud...but, really, I don't imagine any breast to be very smart. Oh boy...here I go...do they share a brain or have seperate ones? What if one was smarter than the other? Are the little ones smarter than the big ones?

I need to stop this NOW! :lmao:

And as for the caffiene--- um, yeah- that'll happen.

Let me go pour myself another cup of coffeee...:surfweb:

This was me at the surgeon's office:

"Let me get this straight, Doc. I'm not supposed to drink a 2 liter of Diet Pepsi every day? :confused3"

Everything that Mari said to everyone!

Ditto!

Trix - They are installing a new night time show on the lake called "World of Color". You can read a short blurb about it here:

The swinging gondolas are a bit wild. LOL!

The view from the Fun Wheel is beautiful. As you can tell, you can see Disneyland and California Adventure from up there. Soon they will be building out the new Little Mermaid ride, the new beer garden area, and Carsland.

BTW, just curious, what makes DL confusing? :cool1:

Sea

Oh my goodness.

I had no idea that you could swing so much on that thing. :faint: I don't know if I could do it...I'd need the non-swinging gondola.

What was all the construction on the ground? You may have told us before but Disneyland confuses me so much! :rolleyes1

NC - you are soo funny.....

Sea - HAPPY to hear that everything is ok with you.

Trix - you always make me laugh....

So now i'm waiting for DH to get home since he want's to go to the mall with me... Men i've been waiting for 1 hour already they always make a woman wait then they are always late..... sorry Sea you are the exception when i bash men.... :)

Sea - LOVED the pics/video... I could just imagine what it's like at night up there. Must be beautiful. I'm with Trix i don't think I could go on the swinging gondolas....

Thank you! - I will get pics and video at night soon. They installed new LED lights on the wheel that do a continuous random show all night long.

Afternoon MAYers!

Just got back from lunch with DS and then grocery shopping. Yes I had to go get something to eat after going to lunch with DS! School lunches are nasty! :scared::rotfl:

Glad you are safe Sea!

No RF yet??? :confused3

I had to take some time to think about that! After we got home from WDW, I started looking into DLR on the website. I think I had spent so much time learning WDW that DLR seemed overwhelming. And it shouldn't have felt that way, right? I think the fact that knowing everything is all smushed into such a small place scares me...and the fact that things are always changing...and things don't have the same names as WDW. I guess I expected it to be just a miniature WDW and it isn't! It's totally different. And in the middle of a huge city with parking structures instead of lots and not as many resorts, and a much more urban feel.

Am I totally off??? :upsidedow

I think my DH was expecting WDW to be like DL actually is. When we got there our first trip he thought all the 4 parks were going to be right next to each other and within walking distance. He never expected them to be miles and miles apart. :confused3 I knew what to expect from all the research and reading I had done, but it never dawned on me to explain it all to him! :upsidedow

:rolleyes1
