OMG DH just emailed me that he is being sent to Lakeland Florida for work on December 28th. We knew this was coming, but never expected that it would fall when the kids were off school. Good grief if we hadn't just been there we would be taking a quick trip to Disney!! (and yes, I amthinking about doing it anyway!)

Do it!

So have any of you/or are any of you getting your kids the H1N1 vaccine? Our school is offering it but I just don't know what to do. Being that it is so new it really scares me. But so does H1N1!

DS got the shot and DD got the mist last week.

They are seriously killing me.

Do you have this style?

iDK if mcat would say it's 'old lady'--- so many of them she thinks are!:confused3

I don't know what constitutes old lady versus cool.:rotfl:

Shelly- the mist is a live virus- so those with weak immune systems should not get it. They get the shot.

Healthy persons get the mist and do fine.

If your child is under the age of ten, they have to get two doses though to be covered.

Shelly- just saw the post about going back to FL.

I must warn you of the crowds. It's my duty as your friend to tell you that you will hate it.
It is a strong word and I don't use it lightly.

It's not even fun- misery is the term I'd use.:rotfl2:

So DS8 would need it twice? Oh good grief. I just don't know what to do. I better just call the doctor's office after the lunch hour. . . Did your kids get it?

I know. Between that and the airfare I don't think we will do it. But it is fun to think about it. If the airfare was less I would consider just going and not doing the parks.

Holy chatting, Batman! Y'all have been busy this morning.

With my code, I've priced it out- and for us to stay at a mod, we'd have to have two rooms. In a deluxe we could squish into one room. The price difference between two rooms at POFQ and one room at the Poly is about $175. For convenience only, think I'd go with the Poly. That way, if anyone wanted to scoot to the MK or EP while the others were at the pool- they could with ease.
...
Now by the light of day I'm not feeling the stay home love.
...
Oh yeah- and I priced out the split stay -- 4 days at POFQ (two rooms) and Poly (3 days, one room). The difference?

A grand total of .....

wait for it....

$75.

Crazy about those price differences!!!!! Well, you know what I would tell you to do. I'm nothing if not a Poly enabler!

I am thinking that as beautiful as the Poly is, I really really want to stay in the Boardwalk area.

This is a dilemma I am faced with whenever I think about my trip. I /love/ the Poly but I can't help but feel I'm missing out by not trying some of the other resorts out. I figure this time around we'll go Poly simply for the convenience of the monorail with a 3 year old. However, after that, I don't know what we'll do. I really would like to try AKL out some time and the Boardwalk resorts look pretty nice too.

Disney makes things just too hard on us!

I know what you mean JO. I have a feeling I would be very uncomfortable in a Value.

This is one of the main reasons I don't think we'll ever stay moderate or value. I'll just save money and not go as often if that is what I have to do to stay deluxe. I can well admit I've got a snob streak and am quite willing to pay more to gain privies. Like Jo, I'm used to staying at really nice places when I travel places beside Disney.

I don't know if I'd do October. I hear it's CRAZY crowded anymore. The whole month. Guess Halloween is pretty popular. . . :confused3

Disneyland was like that this year. It was apparently QUITE insane. They've sold an enormous amount of APs in the last year and locals flood the parks during events (specifically Holiday events). It is actually making me a little scared about going in a couple weeks as Candlelight Procession is happening the weekend we are going to be there.

*putting on my enabler hat*

Doooooooooo it!

WOW airfare is really expensive to fly down on the 26th. CRAP! (even just for 3 of us, DH's company would be paying for his) Not bad coming back though. . .

I can imagine :( Airlines have added a ton of surcharges during the peak holiday season this year to leech even more money out of people.

TOTALLY the truth. I have a friend who's family lives in Florida. He is not a Disney person mind you. Two years ago, the family decided to hit the Magic Kingdom on the 26th of December as there were out of towners there that had never been to the parks. Douglas told me it was INSANITY. Like crazy crazy, omg the crowds, make it stop, busy. You couldn't sneeze without bumping heads with someone.

Look at this picture I found from a "crowds" picture thread:

"on christmas season 2005."

Yep--- exactly the way I remember it. I was there.

As much as I would love to go to WDW for Christmas one year, I think you are sealing the deal on us NEVER going there that time of year. Oh geez..that's just CRAZY!

Think worst nightmare and then multiply it by 100.
