YAY Kim's back! I thought we had scared you away already! :rotfl:

Things are usually a little more happening in here, not sure why it's so slow today. . . :confused3
Nope it would take more than that to scare me away

Jo- sorry you've got the yucks. I've been wiping noses for a few weeks now. Seems like an early start to the cold season. Sounds like you've got the right treatment though :lmao:
I'm not a coffee drinker but sometimes it sounds soooo yummy I think I ought to be! My addiction is a cup of Irish Breakfast tea with sugar and cream. Can't start my day without it.

Trixie- sorry you couldn't see Mr. Phelps in all his glory! I am indeed from the land of Phelps- aka Maryland. I've never actually seen him around town though. I did hear he was at a local bar a while back but my days of visiting those types of places were over about 10 years ago. Just can't hang with the youngin's anymore.

In all the years I've been going to Disney, I've never actually gone in the winter time and got a hot chocolate. That sounds like something I'm going to need to remedy on this upcoming trip! Yum!
I wanted to get some last trip but it never happened...yet another reason to go back this Jan ;)

I didn't see her either :confused3 but I'm a newbie so I get a learning curve, right? ;)

Morning all !

Just got home form the student of the month assembly.

Ethan looked happy and proud.
So far I am really loving the new school.

Did you see her after I pointed her out? It is totally her. I watch that girl at least half the time that I am in WDW. (She is on our TV the WHOLE time that we are in our room)

and I just might watch the Top 7 at home on Youtube when I am missing Disney. :rolleyes1

Okay- now that you pointed it out-- it is her!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2 I couldn't tell from just seeing her- b/c it isn't that clear on my computer- but dang, that voice!!!!!!!!!!!!:lmao: How could you miss it??????

You need to post this as a new thread on the community board. People would bet a kick out of it.

Her Disney money must've run out--- now she's running around waving a hotdog.

:happytv:

Kim- Irish Breakfast tea-- that sounds so good! What kind do you use?

We have been drinking green mandarin orange tea a little bit here as well. I like it b/c I don't put anything into it- and it's better for me. But most of the time- I have to have coffee.

:goodvibes

Trixie--- where ya at? The grocery store?????????:surfweb:

Lake--- I know you were a proud mama.:lovestruc So cute. Is he loving his new school?

Jo

HOLY CRAP isn't that the truth? I can never see the counter for the papers. It's my catch all and I hate it.

J~

Jo

He really is. He has a few favorite friends already. And was already invited to a birthday party which he went to this weekend.

He really likes his teacher, even though she appears to mark really hard. My "A" student was really bummed to be bringing in B+'s. He seems to be doing well, thriving even. I was told at a PTA meeting yesterday, not to worry about his marks... apparently Mrs. T doesn't give A's. Hmmm... really in grade 2 she needs to be like that. Oh well, all his B+'s made me think he and I had been a little to hard on him after that. So mom will remind him to work as hard as he can, but maybe relax a bit.

The move seems to be working out for all of us beautifully.

No, I was trying to find my kitchen counter. How does so much stuff accumulate there every single day??? Augh!!!

I just spent 20 minutes finding my kitchen table. Lets just say the pile up on the table had us eating from the kitchen island yesterday.:rotfl:

Just the duplicate forms alone from school.

I was told at a PTA meeting yesterday, not to worry about his marks... apparently Mrs. T doesn't give A's. Hmmm... really in grade 2 she needs to be like that.

That is ridiculous! Does she think she's a college professor or what??? I would be furious. These kids are just getting self esteem and she's going to beat them down? Want me to call her??? :lmao:

The top of my microwave is my equivalent of your counter. My counter is filled with other items like sippy cups, boxes of Nilla wafers and misc other stuff my husband deposits there to pick up later when his case of the 'I was gonnas' finally gets cured.

That's just redunkulous (it's 11 higher than ridiculous!)!!!!! Why would a teacher put that kind of stress on a 2nd grader? Bad teacher! No apple!

That teacher sux and I don't like her.

Not one bit.:mad::mad:

You tell Ethan that the MAYers think he is the smartest one in the class, regardless of what ther teacher puts on his paper.

Miss Nasty Teacher.

humph.

:headache:

Thanks girls. I'll tell him.
You are all so supportive.

To be honest...I am a very proud mama. We were so used to him bringing home all A's, and then this year every assignment has been a B+, and even a C on one art picture... his first C ever. He was so upset, and I will admit I was disappointed.

Then when I was talking to some of the other mom's, they asked me who his teacher was. When I said Mrs. T, they said...OH.. and How exactly do you like her? When I said that I found she marked a bit strictly, that's when they said... basically a B is an A. She doesn't give A's...so that there is always room for improvement.

Ok... that I understand... but when he got 17 out of 20 on his spelling the other day and all the words were spelled correctly, I started to wonder. The p wasn't exactly on the line, the y wasn't perfect and his spacing was apparently not exactly right...so he lost three point.... I'M NOT KIDDING!

They also had an assignmemt this week, that I had a question about, so I wrote the question in his agenda, and all she did was initial it, she never answered the question. HMMMMM..

But she seemed nice enough to me this morning at the assembly, and looked very happy with Ethan.

If she's this strict it will definitely make him work hard, and at least he's being challenged. So that is a plus.

LOL! I think we saw her "top 7" show everyday. You would think they have worn out the tape on that by now, but it has probably been burned on to digital chip so that Disney can play it infinitely.

Here is her web site and a story about her in the newspaper...

Hey she is working out here for the L.A. Sparks (WNBA) as the game host. I should go and see if I can meet and get my picture taken with her - LOL!

SERIOUSLY!!?!?!

I'm the only one that sees it. I have shown this video like a zillion times and no one sees it until I point it out. :goodvibes

Watch it again.

The girl that says 'It's a grill and a cooler?" is.................. STACY from WDW.

You know?!!?!?! 'Top 7 Must Sees' Stacy. The one that shows at WDW resorts on a 24 hour loop in the rooms. :cool1:

Twinings. Nothing fancy here. I switch between the Irish and the English- can't decide which nationality I want to be sometimes :confused3 I also like just plain old Lipton. I tried their mandarin orange triangle shaped kind if that's what you're talking about- not bad. I like something with a little more oomph in it for the AM though. I have to take on about 6 kids every day so I need that caffeine

WOW  At first I thought you were talking about a middle or high teacher. She's just setting those kids up for getting a complex. They'll never feel good about their accomplishments if they are being viewed through such a critical eye. I'm not one for over praising, but a pat on the back when it is deserved is a good thing for self esteem.

She's marking down ART??? It's ART for crap's sake!!! It's subjective!!!

How many spelling words were there? 5? 10? 20? Was there more than one point available per word? But the whole point of spelling is SPELLING, not spacing or penmanship.

Seriously, I've gotten a horrible teacher fired. What's the school's number?
