I use a lot of ThermaCare wraps for various issues (muscle spasms in neck, arthritis in knees/back). They have these charcoal-like inserts that heat up once opened, but no type of liquid/gel. Would they let you carry on something like this, since it's chemical based, or should t be packed in regular luggage?

Thanks!

I would think they'd be OK in your carry-on as they are not a liquid. And as you say you leave them sealed in their packaging until you use them.

Sorry for you aches & pains. Those wraps can cost some big bucks. I finally found a good rheumatologist that put me on a drug protocol that has worked miracles for me. I hope you can find more relief some day.:goodvibes

I pack these in my carry-on and checked luggage. I have not had any problems to date. I watch for Costco coupons, and buy them in bulk. They are definitely a lifesaver.

I'm glad you've found some relief from your rheumatologist. Almost everything my rheumatologist puts me on gives me horrible stomach problems. The only thing that works well for my knees anymore is cortisone injections....which of course can't be given very often. I'm hoping to have surgery this summer to clean up my shredded meniscus.....not enough left to repair!

Yeah. Those shots help a lot but I had reached a point where I was going to max out the ones for my knees. And getting them in my wrist REALLLLY hurt.:headache: I guess I got very lucky with the Plaquenil and Methrotrexate working for me. There are definitely side affects but at least I can function now so I'll deal with them. Hope one day you find something to help.

I love ThermaCare! You shouldn't have any trouble. I've worn them on flights and had no trouble getting through security, though I went through the metal detector, not the full body scanner. I might take it off before going through security, just in case!
