"There's so many people it's a giraffeic jam" March TR **TRIP COMPLETE**

Sorry for lack of updates. It's been crazy over here :crazy2: Last 19 days of school, end of year paperwork, crazy weather. Luckily tornadoes have missed us. Praying for a quiet season.

Ok where did we leave off... Oh yea.

The morning started out like all the others so far; alarm goes off, do hair, pack bag, check weather, go. We got the bus stop by 7:20ish and 10 minutes later the bus showed up. Off we go, early again but I’m not complaining.

According to the time stamp; we left the resort at 7:33.

(ha ha ‘Caution Pies’ it’s still funny)

We were through bag check and at the entrance by 7:45am. The breakfast reservation line was crazy long.

Our FP plans for the day:
Soarin’ 10:15am-11:15am
Maelstrom 3:00pm-4:00pm
Figment 6:00pm-7:00pm

We had talked the night before and made a plan that if we saw everything else and finished up at EPCOT by 4:00 we would go to DTD in the evening.

Rope drop at 8:50am, GO!!
I posted a video on instagram and commented about how serious people take this Frozen meet and greet. It is really hysterical to see.

Some guy behind me was laughing and telling his daughter to ‘trip him’. I turned around to laugh at him and he tells me “I don’t really want her to trip them, it’s just fun” I commented back about how I agree with him and that I would laugh if someone fell down. Sorry that’s the number one funny thing for me, people falling. Even when I fall, I laugh.

We were power walking towards Soarin’ I told my Dad again I would meet him there. He was probably only like 2 people behind me in the grand scheme of things. We get to Soarin’ and walk through the line. Ok rant time…. I’m in line walking, my Dad is maybe 10 feet behind me and no other person between us. People decide to walk around me in line and get in front of me. Seriously! :furious: We’re all going to the same place and pushing your way around me isn’t going to get you all that closer. Just wait and we will all get there at the same time. I may have mumbled something… but they kept on walking.

We get in line and wait about 5 minutes before we are standing on our glider. My Dad and I were the last 2 people in line and when the doors open we walk to the first row. I turn to get in my seat and there is already someone sitting there. I look at them for a minute to see if they would realize and move, but they didn’t. The other people in our row sat on the other side and it left 2 seats, but not together. After looking at the people who randomly planted themselves in our seats I realize that they are the people who pushed around me to get that much farther in front of me. They annoyed me when they cut in front of me, now I was upset. So instead of asking them to move I got the CM and sicked her on them ha ha. I explained to her what happened and she sighed and walked over to them and asked them to slide down. I mentioned out loud about how it’s not hard to follow directions the CM said “I couldn’t agree with you more” and smiled and walked away. In the end it wasn’t a big deal but I think some people just become selfish on vacation. I understand you want to have the best vacation ever but just take a second or two to think about the other people around you. Ok rant over now…

Soarin’ is one of my top 3 favorites, so I really wanted to see what my Dad thought of it. I think he liked it!

We had about 40 minutes until our FP window and since it was early we decided to get breakfast. Yes we had a lunch reservation but not until 12:45pm, but we had credits left, why not eat.

We grabbed food and planted ourselves in the Fall section, I believe.

I love me some chocolate milk!!

Breakfast was yummy but it was breakfast time that was fun-er. In the 40 minutes we sat there, I came up with 3 different possibilities for this TR title.
So I’m a good little girl (or a 5 year old at heart) and had chocolate milk with my breakfast, apparently the girls next to us were in need of something more fun for breakfast. They sat down with their breakfast sandwiches and orange juice. Then they go back to Sunshine Seasons and come back with 2 bottles of tequila. At 9:35 in the morning! Really…. Apparently they weren’t having as much fun as me…

My Dad and I laughed about that for a while and continued to eat. We had a perfect view of the entrance for Soarin’ where we were sitting so I kept eyeing the wait time. Pretty much every bite I took, the wait time would jump 10 minutes. By 9:33am it was already at 133 minutes….

People would walk down the steps for come off the escalator with a smile on their face and determined to get on Soarin’ then they would see the wait time and walk away. We were watching people come and go when, a family walked up to a CM who was cleaning tables and asked him ‘How do we get out of here?’. Without skipping a beat he said “Just walk around in circles until you pass out” the look on her face was priceless. She couldn’t tell if he was serious or not. He smiled and told her the way and off they went, hopefully they found the exit ok.

By the time breakfast was over it was time for Soarin’ again. We jumped in the FP line and were on our way. The couple in front of us were nice, not overly chatty but they would smile along with apparently whatever funny thing I was saying then but can’t for the life of me remember it now.

Wow I actually got a picture….

I loved it again and no line cutters this time. We were done by 10:45am and again had no real plans for 2 hours. So we decided to venture back to World Showcase going counterclockwise, why not go see Mexican Donald.

But first I apparently decided to take pictures…

We get to Mexico and for the first time ever, I saw a line.

Now don’t get me wrong; Mexican Donald, Panchito, and Jose are great and all but I’ve never stood in line to get on the ride. But we had nothing to do so we said why not.

We got in and joined the crowd, again, why do people power walk or run? We are all going to the same place? Guess I will never really understand it.

We were getting ready to get on our boat when the lady in front of me told the CM in Spanish how many people they had. He commenced to tell her in Spanish the directions and where to go, apparently she can say numbers but doesn’t understand  she just stood there looking at him. Now don’t get me wrong, I may be ‘brown’ (sorry if I offend, that’s what I call myself) but I’m not fluent in Spanish. I was born in the US my parents were born in the US, I’m American ha ha. So the lady finally figures out where she is supposed to go and we tell him 2 and he smiles at us.

We left Mexico then off to Norway we went, where we found a bench and planted ourselves.

We thought about going on Maelstrom but we had a FP for it later and the wait time was 35 minutes so instead we got school bread… Simple alternative I think.

Yum :lovestruc :worship:

My Dad and I split one and I decided I was thirsty and since we were near China I made the trek over to Joy of Tea and got a Strawberry Oolong Tea Slush. The girl behind me saw me with one and declared loudly too, “I want one too!” Ok no need to yell ha ha. I walked back and drank my tea and people watched/ Anna and Elsa crowd watch.

We were hanging out and waiting for lunch when some lady comes walking by looking for her stroller. She wonders around looking when I informed her that the CM was moving them around. She then began cursing like a sailor about it. I laughed cause its odd to hear that much cursing in Disney World  She saw me smiling and laughed at herself too, she told us that she always talks like that around her kids and she knows she should stop but she can’t and she’s afraid about what would happen when her kids start talking. We had a good laugh and she wandered around to look for her “P.O.S stroller” I kept laughing at her. She found it and wished us a good day and off she went.

We started the trek over to Canada for lunch.

We planted ourselves on the bench outside the store and I charged my phone for a bit. I told my Dad that since we had pretty much finished out EPCOT we decided to hit DTD in the evening, which meant I had to get the frusushi today.

We decided we had a 12:45pm lunch reservation but we were going to check in early again and see if we could luck out.

We checked in at 12:30 and were seated 3 minutes later.

We were seated and shortly later our server Jarrod came over. He had the normal spiel that went with dining there and when he asked us if we have eaten there I said yes while my Dad had not. He explained to him the menu and his favorites, I nodded and agreed with about all of them. I ordered a bowl of cheddar soup and waited for pretzel bread. Jarrod agreed with me and said it was the best thing ever, since my Dad doesn’t like cheese, I didn’t share.

Oh my goodness, how I miss it…

I talked to my Dad for months on end about not only the steak but the pretzel bread. Apparently he was waiting for it too because he ripped a piece off before I took a picture.

He agreed and said it was delicious. A few minutes later our steaks came out. I ordered the mushroom filet of course but my Dad being him doesn’t like mushrooms so he ordered the cast iron sirloin and for the life of me I don’t know why I didn’t get a picture, ugh failure.

We took our time eating, since it would be at least another year until I came back. Jarrod would come around every few minutes and ask us how it was and if we needed anything. He was great! Then he came back and asked us if we wanted dessert, um no thanks. He came back with the bill a few minutes later and I quickly grabbed it. Since this meal was my idea I decided I was going to pay for it. So I open it and realize that it is cheaper than last time. I looked it over and realized Jarrod forgot our soup. When he came back a few minutes later and asked if everything was ok (guess he heard me talking to my Dad about it) I told him he forgot the soup. He smiled and said “Don’t worry about it, it’s on me, but thanks for being honest” I told him thank you. He let me know to come back again next time, I always do. I paid the bill and left him a nice tip too.

We walked as fast as we could out, probably clocking somewhere around an 85 minute mile. Goodness so much food.

Well brilliant me remembered I wanted to get the frusushi, so off to Japan I go. My Dad however did want any or really anything from that area so the plan was to both go in different directions and meet in Norway for our 3:00 FP. So I went one direction and my Dad goes the other. I did get pictures, a lot of walk and push the button and hope for the best.

Almost there

Got it!!Now to trek to Norway and find my Dad...

So frushushi in hand the best I could, I weaved my way though the crowds. Somehow I made it to Norway with it intack. Yay me!

I ate it and yes I did share it, soooo worth the walk and dodging crowds for. It was so good. Now we had about an hour until our window opened so we again, hung out on the bench and watched people go by.

At some point in the waiting time, my Dad took a picture of me.

We made some new friends.

Then before you knew it, it was 3:00. FP time! We apparently can’t read because we got in the regular stand by line, so when we realized it. I undid the cord and walked by, somehow in the process my Dad’s phone fell out of his holder thing. In the time that I realized it, some lady says “tu telefono” right as my foot goes down and I step on it… Luckily it’s in an otterbox and all it got on it was some dirt.
We verified our FP and kept right on walking. Literally 1 minute after 3, we were getting on the boat.

Hello, overly happy kid.

We skipped the movie on the way out and hit the gift shop after. I bought some magnets and stopped for the traditional picture.

After some shopping and posing, we headed towards Mexico, I had my eye on a margarita. We got to La Cava del Tequila and noticed a line. Nothing major just 3 people in little barricades outside the door. I got in line and waited, while some guy apparently thought he could cut in line and just walk in. His wife told him “I think there’s a line” his response “Yeah, watch me” well we watched him walk in then 2 minutes later, walk out. Sorry dude, wait in line like the rest of us.

I got up to order and ended up getting a passion fruit margarita, so good. :yay:

I drank my drink as we walked out. My Dad wanted the knock-off-but-pretty-much-a-Dole-Whip pineapple soft serve. So we headed that way, I went to order and he found a bench outside the store and waited for me. Well I was in line and I notice that they had the violet lemonade that I really wanted, so of course I buy both.

Luckily I had two hands, one for each drink.

I finished the drinks off and we hit Mousegears one more time, last minute shopping. I ended up grabbing a few things. I stopped at customer service and left an applause-o-gram for Jarrod our server because he was awesome.

We hit the exit and I said goodbye to EPCOT for at least a year, we lucked out again and a bus was already at our stop. We got to Coronado and relaxed a bit, charged phones and watched some tv.

We headed out to the bus stop about 6:30 and were at DTD shortly after.

We had 2 missions on our mind; Earl of Sandwich and Goofy’s Candy. I also planned on spending some money, but that’s always.

We got in line for Earl of Sandwich and noticed, surprise surprise, a line. I got in line by 7:15ish and did it again, I sent my Dad to find a spot and I met him later. It took all of 3 minutes to get to the paying line. I got my buzzer thing and found my Dad outside. We were next to the party square thing. People were dancing and singing along. So we had dinner and a show.

About 5 minutes after I sat down the buzzer went off. I went to get our food and maneuvered my way around all the people inside.

I had the tuna melt, and good golly was it tasty. I love tuna, and I love cheese and I love bread. So all of that toasted together was fabulous. We ate dinner and listened to people dancing and singing along. At one point they played the funky chicken and I laughed because I have a child in my class this year that loves that dance so much he will randomly bust out into at random times of the day; in the bathroom, in line to wash hands, etc. :cool1:

We were done with dinner and we decided to go spend some money. That was about the time I realized that I didn’t put any extra cash in my wallet, ahh man. Luckily my Dad says he would spot me if I needed anymore.

We wandered into World of Disney where everyone and their moms were at. Gracious is was packed. So I wandered around the store looking at things that I wanted. On my list of souvenirs were two baby outfits, I love when friends have babies.

We wandered around the store and I grabbed things I saw that I wanted or thought I would find a use for. We were in the men’s section and I saw a shirt that said “I’m not grumpy everyone else is too happy” I forced my Dad to get it because that is something that he has said on the trip once or twice already,

We got the rest of our purchases and the line to pay was crazy long so we decided to go to the jewelry section and pay there, there wasn’t any line.

We paid and made our way to the exit. I told my Dad I wanted to go to Basin and buy some things, so he sat outside and waited for me. I wandered around in there knowing what I wanted but not knowing what kind I wanted. I had my eye on a conditioner bar and a bath bomb. I sniffed a few things until I found what I wanted. When I went up to pay and the lady in front of me was talking about the weather. She mentioned how this wasn’t cold for her and I agreed that it wasn’t cold but I wasn’t ready for it. She was from Ohio so she knows cold and I told her I was from Arkansas and it was colder in Florida then it was back home. I paid and found my Dad sitting outside on a ledge. We decided we were done shopping but we had one more stop in mind, candy!

We made it over to Goofy’s Candy Store; I bought a chocolate covered rice krispie treat and my dad got a caramel apple. We wandered around to the exit and to our bus stop. The thing with DTD bus stops is that there aren’t any real line, everyone stands around until their bus shows up, like at moderate resorts. So simple enough solution is to make a somewhat of a line and wait until the bus shows up. Nope not today though. We already had a bit of line formed so we found it and waited, when our bus showed up we gathered together and waited until we could load on, well some family decided that they were going to try and cut in line. Everyone was noticing and mumbling something but not really saying something to the family, finally one of the people in the family noticed what was going on and they stopped. Only to say that wasn’t event their bus stop ha ha.
We got to our hotel and unloaded everyone. We made it to our room and I turned around and went to fill up our mugs. I took my camera this time and decided to take pictures of the hotel at night.

I got back to the room and we broke out our sweets.

Side 1

Side 2

My Dad ended up with a peanut covered caramel apple. And he made a mess ha ha. And I took a picture of his peanuts on the floor to prove it lol.

My rice krispie was really good, I should have had another one. We called it a night a while later and got ready for the last full park day. Ahh sad panda face

Step Count: 18,832

Day 7 March 28

The last full park day is always a sad one but we were determined to make this one a good day. We still had lots of things to get done. :)

We were going to pack up some of our things but we decided that since we were going to take a break in the afternoon we would just leave it for the afternoon and evening. We were getting ready like we always do and as my Dad was putting his shoes on he found peanuts from his apple the night before, it was one of those things that probably wasn’t that funny but first thing in the morning it was the funniest thing ever. After cleaning peanuts out of shoes we strolled over to the bus stop by 7:45am. We waited about 2 minutes for our bus and we were off. :thumbsup2

We were though bag check and turnstiles (ok they aren’t turnstiles anymore but I will always call them that sorry ha ha) by 8:07am. We got ourselves a spot and decided that since we didn’t have any FP’s until later in the afternoon, we would play the morning by ear.

I had decided that I wanted to hit Space Mountain again and Buzz again. So I told my Dad and he said he didn’t want to do SM again so the plan was for me to power walk over in that direction and he would meet me afterwards.

So we were waiting for the morning show and listening to other people’s conversations. I love hearing to people talk about their plans for the day, you always hear the people that either have no plans and the whole day is just playing it by ear, then you have people like the family next to us. The Mom had a paper that said “Magic Kingdom 1 Day Plan” :scared1: and the paper was 2 pages long. They had everything planned from times to rides to when and where they are going to eat. Aside from FP’s we had and an idea of where we wanted to eat we play it by ear. I couldn’t see myself planning that much. I guess there was some hubbub in front of us because someone spilled their soda a few people in front of us, so everyone ended up moving around the spill and of course it stopped right in front of me, so I just had to move an inch or so.

FP plans for the day:
Mickey Mouse 12:45-1:45
Jungle Cruise 2:35-3:35
Peter Pan’s Flight 7:00-8:00

9:00am came around and off we went, I told my Dad where we were meeting and I would see him when I was done.

I made it around to the rope drop at Tomorrowland and waited until they officially opened, once they did I joined the rest of the people headed to SM and got in line. Since I was an onesie I didn’t think it would take long. The time stamp on my photopass picture is 9:17am so yes it did move quickly. The people with me either lucked out with the camera or knew where it was because when we got off to look at the picture they couldn’t stop laughing. I love having fun pictures to look at. :rotfl:

I got off the ride and found my Dad sitting at the predetermined spot and we decided to head to Buzz now. We got in line and again, it moved quickly.

We got our picture and were on a mission for food, and apparently now there wasn’t anything open. Last time Tomorrowland Terrace was open but that was because Starbucks/Mainstreet Bakery was being refurbished. But this time there wasn’t any, so we ventured off to Gaston’s Tavern for a cinnamon roll and some Le Fou’s Brew.

We were done by 10:00ish. We walked towards the Liberty Square area and went on Haunted Mansion again, of course because it is one of my favorite rides. We were done and had nothing to do so we wandered around for a bit in the area. It was 10:45 and we decided we were going to eat lunch at Columbia Harbor House.

We were going to eat as soon as it opened so we saw someone else walk in and we decided to go in early. We ordered and I had wanted to eat up stairs, so we went up there, where it was quiet and no one else was up there. For all of 5 minutes, then someone showed up but it was ok, it was nice and quiet. We ate our food and people watched, my Dad was taking a business call so I ate and took pictures.

We finished eating and again, had no real plans so we walked towards the hub and decided what else to do. We planted ourselves on some benches right outside of Liberty Square, right when Dream Along with Mickey was starting so we decided to watch it. I walked over to take a picture and noticed 2 people trying to take a selfie and apparently it wasn’t working, so I offered to help them take a picture. They thanked me and went on their way.:thumbsup2

I sat back on the bench and a few minutes later we decided to head over to our meet and greet.

We had crossed the street when Move It, Shake It, Celebrate it started so we stopped to watch and take some pictures. :)

We made it to the Theater with still some time to spare so again we took a break and found a bench.

And low and behold, there was an ice cream cart nearby and guess what I haven’t had yet, a Mickey Ice Cream bar :woohoo:

So I went to get one then after I sat down my Dad decided he wanted a Strawberry popsicle, so I got back in line.

When our FP window opened we got in the line and it took all of 5 minutes before we got inside the room. However, when we got in line with another family and it was almost our turn “Donald needed the room” so we had to move to another room. We took the back way through doors that say CMs only, I felt special. We got to the end of the hallway and ended up waiting about 15 minutes before we got into another room. In the end it wasn’t that long but I was getting a little tired and restless and the little kid in the group with us was bouncing off the wall.

Finally we get into the new room and we waited for our turn. The family in front of us went and got their pictures taken and then it was our turn. Mickey looked at me and talked to me, and for whatever reason it was the craziest thing that had happened. My reaction in the picture is classic, I’m genuinely surprised to hear him talk. He asked us if we wanted to do a magic trick with him and of course we said yes, because why wouldn’t you.

We finished meeting Mickey and had a while until our next FP so we made our way to Adventureland and waited. But first we stopped for a Dole Whip because we have yet to have an official one. My Dad found a spot across the way while I waited in line. I made friends with the family behind me, apparently this was their first trip and they were in line for Dole Whips and their kids were in line to meet Tinkerbell. The Dad was talking about how many things they have done and what else they wanted to get done today. Then the Dad made the comment that we all make when we are done with our trips “I need a vacation from my vacation” I talked to them about how many times I have come and a few of my pointers, not that I’m an expert or anything but I know a few things.

I got our dole whips and found my Dad on a bench and we finished them off. While we were sitting we noticed a family with a little boy a few feet over and then a few people over from them was a boy with a bubble machine. Of course he was pressing the button and bubbles were flying everywhere and the little boy was obsessed with the bubbles. He was so happy when there were bubbles and when there weren’t, he was heartbroken. It shouldn’t have been as funny as it was but it was hysterical

We finished our Dole Whips and made our way to Jungle Cruise, we saw a railing and leaned against it and people watched.

2:30 rolled around and we got in the FP line, that again looks longer then standby.

Our cruise director was fun but nothing really special, the same jokes we have heard before. But it was still worth a chuckle or two.

We decided to call it an afternoon and head to our room and attempt to get a head start on packing. We walked to the bus stop and only waited a few minutes before one showed up. We made it back to our room and our house keeper placed or Magical Express envelope on our bed, according to the paper we had to be at the bus stop by 1:30.
I did some packing but really didn’t want to, because packing meant officially that the trip was over. So we decided to eat dinner at the resort so we wouldn’t have to fight with the crowds plus we had extra credits so we needed to use them.

We made it down to Pepper Market by 4:45 and I grabbed a cheeseburger, nothing else sounded appealing to me. I think I was hitting the food limit.

We weren’t in a hurry so we took our time, we finished and made it to the bus stop by 6:00ish.

We didn’t have anywhere to be until our Peter Pan FP so we wandered around Main Street, it was about this time we noticed that the clouds were nasty looking and the sprinkles had started. So even though we had ponchos in the room, we ended up buying more. My Dad’s motto “If you don’t want it to rain buy a poncho”. With ponchos in hand just in case the clouds opened up we wandered around to we got to the hub and we saw a photopass person and stopped to get a picture. Apparently one CM’s scanner wasn’t working so she told us to get in the other line, so we do and we wait patiently until that CM tells us hers in broken too. So they couldn’t scan my Memory Maker card but she could give me a new card and I would have to take it to the photo place at the exit and link them together, no biggie.

With pictures on our new card we made it up through the castle and stopping for some more pictures along the way.

We people watched a little as the clouds opened up a bit, not enough for ponchos.

The family sitting next to us ended up leaving their umbrella, by the time I noticed they were gone. So we made our way to Peter Pan and got in the FP line.

Apparently the Dad behind me didn’t want to wait in FP line. He mumbled something and waved his arms around as he walked away. We were about through the turnstiles when we notice the ride stopped moving all together. We waited as we tried to figure out what was going on. It started moving again after about 10 minutes then it stopped again. We continued to wait until a mechanic looking guy came by and walked around some of it for a while, then it started moving with only the mechanic guy on it. He rode it around for about 5 minutes more before he got off and gave it the ok.

My Dad had been eyeing the wait time on this ride for months and weeks on end trying to figure out what the big deal about it was, in the end he liked it but didn’t see why people would wait 3 hours for it.

We were done by about 7:30pm and decided to mosey on towards Fantasyland with no particular thing in mind.

I wanted a cake cup but sadly they were sold out, oh well maybe next trip. We sat on the bench outside of Cosmic Rays watching people go by, when we said lets go on the Tea Cups. As soon as it was decided and we stood up to go over there, it stopped, so we sat back down and tried to think of a new thing to do. We couldn’t really think of anything so we decided to just hangout until we thought of something. 2 minutes later the Tea Cups were up and going again, so we decided to go back that way. The wait time was posted at about 10 minutes so we got in line and decided to wait. 5 minutes later we were on the ride, we found a tea cup and off we went. We had decided that we weren’t going to spin to much because my Dad hasn’t been on it in forever, if not ever and there was no need to get sick on the last night of the trip. I gave him my camera and told him I wanted him to take a picture of me, I don’t have one of me on the tea cups, my Mom never goes with me so getting a picture was on my list.

We were done and my Dad had talked about how he wanted another caramel apple, one that preferably wouldn’t leave peanuts in his shoe ha ha. I walked around and took pictures of things at night because my camera from last time didn’t take good ones and I love Fantasyland at night :lovestruc

After pictures we stopped into Big Top Souvenirs for the apple and I saw a cake pop that was saying “eat me” so I asked for one and my Dad bought it for me, he’s so nice :thumbsup2

We took our treats and planted ourselves across the way, on the ledge between Dumbo and the Barnstormer. I tried to get a picture of my cake pop but apparently either my camera or me wasn’t cooperating… :confused3

It was our last night in here so I wanted more night pictures. It was about 8:00pm now and we had decided that I wanted to watch (yes we said I) Wishes from Fantasyland. But first we had more quick service credits to use.

We decided to go to Tomorrowland Terrace and get food thinking it would be easiest to find seats and we had already eaten at Cosmic Rays. We walked that way and I was trying my hardest to take it all in, last night at Disney, yes we would still be here tomorrow for breakfast and a few rides but something about last full day is heart breaking :sad1:

We got to Tomorrowland Terrace and I went up to order and told the cashier CM I was on the dining plan, which I would tell everyone, and she got so excited and kept saying “Thank you for telling me that” apparently people order then inform her of that. We got our food and went to the lower level to find a seat. We tried our hardest to eat our food but we failed. I ate all my nuggets but only half my fries, the food wall was officially hit for the trip.

We didn’t want to linger long since we wanted to go find a seat for the fireworks. We cut through Tomorrowland and past the dance party and they were playing “Happy” and it had just come out so it was still new and I was singing along and walking. It officially became the song for the trip. Every trip I take with my Dad, hockey game or otherwise, there is always a song that will remind me of it. Every time I hear any song off of The Black Keys’ album El Camino, I think of Denver or when I hear “Counting Stars” I think of Dallas. It’s just a thing I have I guess, so Happy was the song this time.

We made our way back to Fasntasyland and as we walked we noticed that they were running the Mine Train, no one was on it but it was running so we stopped and watched it for a while.

We decided to find a spot to watch Wishes so we found a spot that directly faced the Carousel. We were sitting and hanging out when I remembered that I needed to buy a present for my friend’s son’s birthday. The party was the day after I get back and I didn’t foresee myself going to the store anytime soon. I walked across the way to Fantasy Faire and bought a pirate Mickey hat. I walked back to my spot and finished my tea from dinner and waited for Wishes. A few minutes before it started it was filling up I looked around and people would just stop where they were walking and sit down. There were a few people that were running into each other, like human bumper cars.

The fireworks started and I’m not going to lie it was a little overwhelming because I would catch myself trying to look forwards and backwards and figure out which ones to try and take pictures of. In the end I got a few that I liked.

When the fireworks were over we waited out a bit and I decided after drinking all that tea I needed a restroom break. I took care of business in an empty bathroom, no one was in there but me. First time all trip that there were no people around.

I had decided I wanted to go back to The Yankee Trader and buy some Haunted Mansion stuff. I had a $40 prepaid visa gift card and it being the last day it seemed like a great time to finally use it. I grabbed a few things and then we decided to call it a night. It wasn’t as heartbreaking as it normally would be because I knew we were coming back tomorrow morning for breakfast.

We strolled to the bus stop and waited all of 3 minutes, despite tackling the bus stop at the end of the night, we did stand though but it was ok.

We got back to the hotel and I had decided that we were needing a ride to the front of the resort tomorrow to drop off our suitcases. There was no way we were going to be able to wheel all our stuff across property, ok not all the way across but with a huge suitcase it was going to take us a while and we had an 8:35am breakfast reservation to get to. So my Dad and I walked over to the front and I asked the bell services people if they would be able to pick us up and they said yes at 7:00am. Which means having to be packed the night before… We refilled our mugs then walked back to our room to pack up. I spent the next hour somehow shoving stuff into my suitcase. I called and talked to my Mom about what our plan was for the next day, then called it a night.

Day 8 March 29

The dreaded and heartbreaking last day/travel day

The alarm went off at 5:30ish and I finished packing my last few things and making sure that I had everything that I may have pulled out of my suitcase. I was walking around when I heard rustling at the front door, so I looked through the peephole and didn’t see anything so I opened the door and our boarding passes were hanging on the door, I shoved those in my other bag and looked back outside and noticed, it’s raining. Dang, I just packed the ponchos. So we fished around in our bags until we got them and shoved them in a bag to take with us.

At 7:00am on the dot I looked out the door and see the CM on his little golf cart. We wheeled out suitcases out the door and I said goodbye to our room one last time. The CM loaded our bags on the cart and off we went. We dropped our bags off and by that time, the rain had let up, but we decided to carry them with us because it’s Florida and it will rain again.

We grabbed a bus at the front and were crossing the gate at 7:30am.

We found the lady who was manning the Dining Reservations line and went on thorough. And by 7:45 we were allowed to go through and we wandered onto an empty Main Street.

I had my heart set on Photopass pictures so we went until we found one. And I ended up with some of my favorite pictures from the trip. Something about standing in front of the castle in cloudy weather that’s great.

I turned around the Humphrey the bear.

I was so excited I kept saying “I want a picture!” I hope I’m not the only one who remembers this cartoon, the song was so darn catchy. If you don’t know it go youtube it... I will wait…

See catchy I told you. So much so I sing the song in my classroom when its cleanup time. I got my picture and I was so happy.

Even though it was 8:00 we decided to check in and see if the odds were in our favor again and we would be seated early.

By the time I sat down and took a picture of the buzzer, it went off. We went inside and were seated, our servers name was Sherri and she was awesome! When she came over to introduce herself and explain the deal she noticed my name and told me how much she loves, old timey names. Since when is Margaret an old timey name… We talked for a while and she explained that she had 3 daughters and they all had old timey names. We laughed and talked about how some kids these days have unusual names with I’m all for individuality but when you are trying to teach children to spell and write their name and it doesn’t make sense phonetically it’s a little annoying. We got our food and enjoyed our last morning at the MK.

The family next to us was celebrating a birthday and the Mom was a little emotional that her daughter was turning 13, it was sweet.

Eeyore was first to come visit.

I didn’t notice this picture until I uploaded pictures to photobucket. Thanks Dad…

Then Pooh.

Then Tigger.

The girl that I work with is a huge Tigger fan so I got a picture of me holding a paper saying “Hi Amanda” then he signed it, she was so happy.

Then Piglet, which is what my Dad calls me.

We had actually met all the characters by 8:55am but we figured we would not rush our last part of our breakfast. So we paid Sherri and said our goodbyes to her, but she came back with a present for my classroom. A signed card, when I showed my kids it was the most exciting thing they have ever seen in their 4 or 5 years of existence. We told the family next to us to have a good day and off we went.

I had actually made FP reservations for the day not knowing if we were going to use them or not. So we walked towards Tomorrowland and noticed no wait for Buzz so we decided it was rematch time.

We were walking through the line when we came to the part where FP and standby meet and a little girl in front of me was swinging on the bar. The CM very bitterly and quite angrily told her to stop. My Dad and I both looked at each other and said “Wow someone sure is grumpy”

We went saved the world and I believe I won…again.

It was 9:15 and I decided I had a FP for SM so why not use it. My Dad said he didn’t want to go on it again and especially not after having eaten a lot for breakfast. So I went solo again.

The family I rode with didn’t know any English, but the lady in front of me did know “Oh my God” cause that’s all she said ha ha.

I found my Dad sitting and joined him for awhile and while we were talking we noticed that the crowds were half of what they had been the other 2 mornings. It was a Saturday so we figured it was a traveling day but it being Spring Break I thought it would be busy all week.

We actually said “Now what do we do? We don’t have to be at the resort until 1 and its only 9:30” So we decided to do the Astro Orbiter which neither of us has done in 15 years. Apparently one of us almost fell out years ago….

I was sitting down and waiting and I saw this guy and I took a picture of him, not because he was cute but because he had a Flyers jersey on and I was mentally kicking him in the shins ha ha.

I got a few pictures and we were done so we moved on to the next thing. We had another FP to use up. So back to Buzz we go. We were walking in and noticed they moved the crankity lady to the front ha ha.

We were going to pose for a picture but I was still determined to win so it was a half pose but still push the button and hope for the best.

I won again and then the reality hit. It was time to leave… so we went to do our traditional ‘last ride of the trip’ ride. Off to the Peoplemover we go.

I had hoped a little that it would have broken while we were on it and didn’t have to get off for a while but nope. We said goodbye to Tomorrowland and made our way down Mainstreet. I stopped in the Emporium and did more last minute shopping/ I have money left so let’s spend it.

I grabbed my bag when I remembered I didn’t link last night’s photopass pictures, so I walked over there to do that. After doing that we walked out and I said one last goodbye to MK and Disney.

We made it to the bus stop and back to our resort by noon and figured we had dining credits left, let’s use them. Even though neither of us was hungry.

We found a table and got our food, before I took a bite, my phone buzzed saying I got an email.:sad1:

Really? We haven’t even left property and you’re telling me bye. Ugh… :sad1:

We finished eating, paid, and made our way to the exit. But first, gift shop stop. We were walking around when I decided I wanted more charms for my Disney charm bracelet. I was walking around looking when I noticed this adorable red bag. I really don’t remember seeing it at any of the other parks, so I stood and stared at it while debating about buying it. When I decided I was going to buy it I grabbed it and starting walking, but before I made it to the register to pay my Dad grabbed it and ended up getting it for me. Thanks Dad :)

I grabbed my new purchases and went to get my suitcase. I miraculously shoved all my new stuff in my suitcase and carry on. I checked it with my hand held scale and it said 48 pounds.

It was about this time that we noticed it was sprinkling a little. Before I could say “Look sprinkles” the clouds opened up. We dragged our stuff to the line with all the other people. Honestly I can’t be the only sad person in line, everyone else looked overly happy to be there. A few short minutes later our bus showed up and we got on. By the time we sat down it begun to pour.

Crazy thing was that was the only real storm all trip. Every other time we have gone we get rained out at least 3 times. I was glad that it didn’t this time, not because I’m not a fan of rain which I am but I didn’t want to worry about my Dad getting sick again.

I had purposely picked a seat nowhere near a tv. The DME goodbye video is always when the sadness hits, I never make it without some tears. But the new one isn’t as sad so I gave myself a little pat on the back. By the time we got to the airport the rain was really coming down. We parked and walked out to wait for our bags, when the wind picked up. Between all the rain and wind no matter where you stood you were getting wet. Our driver being the great person that he is was still getting peoples bags, even though it was raining like crazy.

We joined the crowd of people going to check in when we stopped and tried to figure out what the annoying sound was. After checking our phones, my Dad realized his tornado app was going off, apparently we were under a tornado warning. I’m used to them and apparently everyone in the airport was, no one seemed to care so we just kept going.

I told my Dad that the airport has self check in now, which I think is the best invention ever. We checked ourselves in and went to weigh our suitcases…. Moment of truth on mine…

Made it by the seat of my pants. The lady was laughing at me laughing. I couldn’t help but take a picture because I thought it was hysterical. :rotfl::woohoo:

We got through security with no problems. It always seems overwhelming when you get in the line and see all the people around you, but once you get though it makes sense how they do everything.

We got on the faux-rail and got to our gate. That’s when we noticed a lot of people standing in line and looking rather angry. Apparently the tornado warning grounded everything and we were stuck for a while. Which is fine by us because we planned a 3 hour layover in Dallas for both of us, just in case.

We found a bench and I pulled my tablet out and we decided to look at our Photopass pictures and send each other any pictures we took during the trip. Finally 2 hours later the airport opened back up. So we went to our gate and waited for our departure. It was then that I saw 6 gates were trying to get planes out at the same time. :crowded:

Luckily we made it on our flight and made it to Dallas. Honestly I don’t remember if I slept or not. It was craziness when we got there, everyone was trying to make their connecting flight. We landed at 8:40ish and someone behind us said their plane was scheduled to leave at 8:45pm. I really don’t know if they made it in time, I’m guessing no though.

We get to Dallas and I look down and realize I have 15 minutes until we start boarding. So I huff it to my gate with enough time. I say goodbye to my Dad and wait until we board. I somehow ended up with an aisle, which I never pick. But the flight was overbooked so I’m guessing I got moved around. It was a 45 minute flight so I didn’t argue. I did some reading and time went by quickly. I talked to my Dad when he got home an hour or so after me and we talked about how much fun we had, even though we were both sick, him more so then me. We also decided that we needed a mulligan trip. Which is planned for next Spring Break, depending on how our school calendar works out.

If you followed along thanks :yay::hug: and I hope you enjoyed reading along as I did remembering it :)

Hello from another Margaret! Yes, it's an old-timey name. LOL Nobody names their kid Margaret anymore, they use Maggie (which is what I go by).

I loved your trip report! You took lots of great pictures and had just the perfect amount of detail. You look like it would be a lot of fun to visit Disney with you. :)

I had to ask - what camera were you using? You took some awesome pictures for not even trying so either you're a liar (which I think not) or that's some great camera. We have a Nikon DSLR that takes great photos but it's a pain to carry around.

Can't wait for next year's Mulligan trip!

Enjoying your report! I am going in March this year and wanted to see what the crowds were like....so far in your report you didn't seem too bothered by them so that's good! I love that you and your dad did a trip together!

Hey, loved your trip report reminds me when I go with my family every year..have you ever gone when decorated for x-mas? you will love it

Loved your report! I had to LOL at the woman with the two page plan, I am that person when we go - love touringplans! We missed a lot of lines last time because of it. Hubby and I are teachers so our next trip is spring break 16, was cool to read your report.

Great trip report. You have an awesome dad. He was such a trooper being sick.

Sounds like you had a fabulous trip! I just had to say hello to a fellow Arkansan. We live in Fort Smith.

Love the report and all the little details and food pics! I just ordered a big Dakine wheeled duffel bag, the print on yours is super cute! I think I need that hoodie you bought now!

I loved reading your trip report! We are huge Blackhawks' fans and will be at Disney World next week during the Stanley Cup Finals!! I'm curious if you got to go this year during spring break!
