That video has to be on the ride down.....the red hate you see at almost the end of the video is at the bottom of the road. They block it off in the winter, and at dark. So the gate is at the bottom.
So....therefor......I was driving fast because it is either let it roll, or wear out your brakes. If you have a video going up....I bet it's a lot slower. Just sayin....

Sorry Mo should have said Cathedral Ledge. Did I mention that my husband and son rock climbed up that ledge a couple of times. EEEEEK I could not even watch. Great report love that area and I don't remember the Basin I will have to check that out.

I love views like that! Before long they will have to put up signs saying don't jump off the cliff in order to avoid a law suit. I keep seeing it more and more. Thank goodness there are still places were common sense is counted on.

You had me giggling the whole time just thinking about ya'll driving up the mountain and then making that climb on foot. Too dang funny!

I can laugh now.. A the moment i was wondering if i was going to be buzzard food..

The older I get, the worse my fear of heights gets. I believe I would have grabbed that tree and held on for dear life until someone pried me off and carried my paralyzed with fear body back to the car! Lol! The pictures are sure pretty though!

It was insane. I still cannot believe i made it up and down without hurting myself!!! The pictures are pretty.. Surprising they came out as good as they did with me trembling as much as i was!

Yes. this was definitely the most adventurous trip we have ever taken...

I do believe that is why the next update IS fenced in!
I don't think they can or will fence where we were. it is a mountain- natural- protected so i doubt they can or will... Then again this is a question for Suzi!

Sackiwackipuss tree.. dare to correct me??​

We were off to the next part of the mountain... I was still on the look out for both moose and----- bigfoot.

Once securely on flatter ground with a fence I was MUCH more at ease. Then noticed this growing out of the mountain!


One of the running jokes was: the Sako River. We must have driven over-around IN- several times. yet D and i could NOT remember the name too save our lives. So this tree - looking exactly like an octopus - turned into the Sackiwackipuss tree.













Suzi's ONE and ONLY piece of safety advice was.... Don't lean on the fence...
Really...... You NEEDED to tell us that? still no rope.. we were left to our own devices.
I think she was secretly planning on tossing us over... after the hell we have been putting her through.

after we had our scared straight segment we promised to be good gurls now.. She knows too many places to make things look like accidents...

Suzi takes us on a MUCH EASIER path to the car... when i say much easier I mean i could have skipped along this path...
Loaded back into the van belted in.. I may have used the seat belts from the other seats too....

I was ready.... I could only imagine how Suzi was going to go DOWN the mountain when we did 400 on the way up...

Seriously.....you guys are a bunch of babies. You drive up the mountain.....all the way up. Park at the top and walk MAYBE 200 ft to the front side of the cliff to see the view. There is barely a hill....you can see the cars in the lot. Gosh, you make me sound so mean

I wish I had taken a video of Mo driving 90 through the center of Chicago! But no I didn't because I would have had my arm ripped off. But me driving 30 up a mountain.....that is horrible??? What.Ever.

Awww Swooozie... We know you weren't going THAT fast... We aren't trying to make it sound like you're a bad driver... You certainly are not. I never once thought my life was in jeopardy or that you were going too fast... I guess that's why It's so funny - because you honestly weren't.

For the record... Suzi is a great driver, and I wouldnt hesitate to let her drive me anywhere again. . And also for the record... We had a blast in Maine... It was so fun and Suzi took us to so many great places that we never would have seen otherwise.

Publicly, my sincerest apologies for making you feel badly, that was never the intention. You are one of my bestest friends and I would never intentionally hurt you. I love you Swooooozie.
