There's a snake in my house

On the bar in my kitchen. DH brought it home today. He likes it, says he gonna keep it. The kids are very excited, too. They think it's cute and that it likes them. I want to shudder just thinking about it. I told the kids I was gonna throw to the hawk that circles the backyard. Everyone loves it and wants to keep it, except me. Looks like I'm outnumbered. The kids love it so much they forgot to keep an eye on their new puppies and the puppies found their way into my shower. I'm not taking care of it. I refuse to acknowledge the nasty, little thing. I asked DH what its name was, he's keeping it simple, it's just snake.

Apparently I have one in my crawl space as evidenced by the screaming cable men tonight.

No seriously I HATE snakes. We just dont get along. I hope that bugger didnt slither up into the house while they were down there.

I barely survived the guinea pig that drew blood everytime a digit got near it's mouth. That darn rodent lived three long miserable years in a cage in my garage. Good luck to you.

Yesterday I was cleaning out an area of my garden that had become overgrown with weeds.... I reached in to grab a nice chunk of them, and a nice 2 foot garter snake came out in my hand with the weeds.... It freaked me out as I wasn't expecting it, but it didn't bite me, and I just let it go under my shed...

Snakes don't bother me all. I wouldn't mind if DH would bring one of those home for a pet.

Now if he decided to bring home a tarantula, then I have major problems. Spiders creep me out more than any other kind of animal.

I don't think it's cute, but I've certainly seen uglier ones. We once had a rubber boa snake for awhile.They look rather fake and not pretty. I'm a fan of leaving wild snakes in the wild, though, so DH took it back where he found it. We currently have two corn snakes as pets. One is albino and really pretty.

Please don't keep a WILD snake..........wild snakes belong in the WILD......not to mention the diseases/germs they have acquired.

If your family wants snake I say let them have fun! But please buy one from a pet store....one where you know the breed, temperament, and adult size/weight of the animal.

I don't usually beg....but please please please let this snake go back to the wild if that's where you found him.....I hate seeing an animal captured from it's habitat

we are getting a snake next week. I wanted a cat (we already have two) and dh and the kids all want a snake. My dd15 has a friend who is in college and has no time to care for his snake anymore so we are getting it.

Do you even know what kind fo snake it is?? And was this a "found" snake? If so, I vote for setting it free. SO not right to take it from it's natural habitat. Buy one that has been bred in captivity.

For all those with concerns, I understand. Thankfully, my DH does think things through. He's been in contact with a "snake man," as I call him. He's been talking to him since he brought the nasty, little thing home.
