there was no DVC reception on my cruise!

I was looking forward to the DVC reception on our 4 day wonder cruise last week. I know there were many other DVCers on board. However I never found one. I didn't even see a DVC desk, although I saw the desk to rebook cruises.
There was no invitation in my room. I am sitting here looking over my navigators to make sure I didn't miss it, but I don't see one at all! We paid for 4 of us with points, one with cash.
Is this a thing of the past?

They only have DVC receptions on the 7day ( Magic) cruises.

That explains why there wasn't one on my 3-day cruise in May. We sailed on 5/22, only 2 days after closing the DVC purchase. I knew better than to expect an invitation so soon after closing, but I did keep my eyes open for signs of DVC. Alas, nothing materialized. I guess that means all our future cruises will have to be 7 days long....

It's good to know there are receptions on the seven-day cruises, since we plan to take one in the next year. We sailed on the Magic back in December '98, but they were just getting started then.

We went to the very first DVC member reception (as we were on the inaugural 7-day sailing of the Disney Magic) in August 2000. The first one was very informal and I liked it a lot more than when we attended on our 2nd 7-day cruise in January 2002.

Unfortunately DVC doesn't really have a presence on the 3 and 4 night cruises.

As others have said, it's only on the 7 day cruise.

If you're cruising on points, you'll receive an invite. If you paid cash, you're welcome to attend but you'll need to find out when/where the reception is being held.

I'll be tracking down my fellow members during our 8/2 cruise.

We were on a back to back cruise and we did not get notification for either one. That is not the first time we did not get notification. Mainly they are for you to buy more points.
