There now? Bag or cargo shorts for fastest entry?

Just based on what others have said..you could still be pulled for a search and have to empty your pockets to go through security... The best plan I could offer is plan bag check lines into your travel time at the parks or make it to rope drop super early.

Doesn't matter about being recently, cargo shorts have been and will be much quicker.

i have not been lately but from what i've read on here EVERYONE goes through the metal detectors now so if you go with just cargo shorts you'll be taking everything out of your pockets.
i'd much rather got with a small purse that will be looked at quickly and then move on to the metal detectors instead of having to pull everything out of my pockets.

The bag you posted will always be sent to bag line.

Cargo shorte while faster you will be asked to empty the contents and hold it in your hand so make sure you can do that.

Either way no one can say if you'll be going through a metal detector or not.

The shorts will be much faster. We just left yesterday after being there since 6/6. The bag check lines during this past week took a lot longer than the first week, as they were being much more thorough. The metal detectors are still based on "random" selection, but my husband was selected pretty much every day and I was selected yesterday. It was really fast to get through the detectors each time.

Cargo shorts are faster..as any bag..no matter how small will have to go through the bag line. However, if the cargo shorts are obviously full...you might get flagged to empty them and go through the detectors any way. Either way..just plan extra time

It was only Memorial Day weekend and I believe the day after the shooting they made everyone go through, I could be wrong on that part though. But no, as of now not everyone goes through. It's rumored that that's what will eventually happen.

If they do make everyone go through I hope they bring a ton of metal detectors and have ropes to keep lines in order. Everyone has to go through metal detectors for Halloween Horror Nights and its brutal waiting

I had a phone case that was a bit large and I carry two phones, one for my job and one for me and yes I do have one forwarded to the other but i can not get my emails on my personal phone so I have to carry to.
Bottom line they checked my phone case.

As of last week (an admittedly bad week for Orlando as a whole), there was 100% through the metal detectors on several days.

The only ones who slowed things down were those who wanted to discuss it with the security guards instead on simply emptying your pockets and walking through.

It's quite non-obtrusive as a whole.

Its always faster to go bagless. It doesn't matter how small your bag is, you have to go through the bag check and the time-sink there is all those people in front of you, not the amount of time it takes for your bag.

I was at EPCOT and AK on 6/12 (day after/of the shooting), MK (in 2x) on 6/14, EPCOT and MK on 6/15, and HS, EPCOT, HS on 6/17. There was never, at any of those parks/times 100% through the metal detectors. Not even on 6/12. My husband and my daughter's friend had to go through that day. I only had to go through once. My son had to go through every time except that first day at EPCOT when he was pushing my wheelchair. I don't think my daughter ever had to go through. 100% is not even close.

Either way is a small difference (by minutes) and it's a one time thing for the day.

Honestly, I wouldn't make my choice based on those minutes, but which would be more convenient for you during you day in the park.

Yes, stroller with no bag can go through bagless lines. We did. We learned on the first day of our first trip to NEVER bring a bag. The elderley gentleman at the bag check took at least 10 minutes - unzipping every pocket and checking inside with a flashlight! After that we started carrying lanyards with cards & cash. My husband always wears cargo shorts and has never once been checked.
