It doesn't matter to me one way or another if you choose to stay home instead of taking a short trip to WDW because you were afraid that you might not be able to get a FP for one attraction.

But, as long as you asked, as long as someone is going to be complaining anyway, I would rather have him or her complaining about something that actually DID happen instead of about something that he or she is afraid MIGHT happen. Of course, my real preference would be for people to stop complaining altogether, or at least find something different to complain about.

Yep, we actually DID the expensive, spur of the moment peak trip, it was our best ever by far and 7DMT was a few minute wait with FP+, as were the other headliners on very short notice, esp for XMAS week-and I documented it for accurate real world reporting.

While, I can agree with you about the whys of 60/30. Then another solution would be for them to better lock down their hours before the 60. I don't mind if they add extra hours at night as that won't affect booked ADRS or FP+ but shortening hours or adding a morning EMH shouldn't be happening as that damages people's hard earned plans. Can we not agree if Disney makes you jump through hoops then they shouldn't be yanking the rug out from under your feet when you land?

That's a really good point - this was especially troublesome over the holidays when people would make their ADR's at 180, then their FP's at 60/30 based on when their ADR's were, only to find the park hours revised at <30 and turning a morning-before-park-opens ADR into an ADR-during-rope-drop (or similar plan disruption) destroying the original intent.

It's ironic. I like FP+, not everything about it, like the IT, but the concept in general. I also liked the old paper FPs. However, I did a survey recently specifically asking about MDE and the process of choosing/changing FP+. I actually had to respond in the survey that I felt anxious, frustrated, and a little confused while making/changing FP+, even though I have done it before. I think WDW is getting a little unsure (not a lot because they ponied up a boat load of money that will never allow them to say too many bad things), based upon the questions in the survey.

I feel bad for first time WDW visitors; I wonder if they have any idea what they are getting themselves into. However, this was true before with paper FP. I remember having to explain it to a lot of first timers at the machines, even though it was my first time too. One poor family missed out on TSMM, because they couldn't stay past a certain time but had gotten a late FP.

I made my FP reservations last week and I agree it was not enjoyable and it did not increase my excitment for a trip that is 2 months away. I made FP reservations for 3 days and it took me about 45 minutes with all the time adjustments. I hope your're right about the Disney Surveys. I don't expect FP+ to go away, but I hope Disney is looking for ways to improve the guest experience.
