Disneyland.
I have just posted some comments about a TOT party that were not all enthusiasm so I must make up for that.
We have just returned home from a family holiday. We had booked Hojos for 12 nights thinking that if the children got bored with Disneyland we would move on. We stayed.
We were a group of 5, grandparents, daughter, who says she had to wait until she was 38 for her parents to take her to Disneyland, and her two girls aged 9 and 7.
7 year old has always had a fear, bordering on phobia, of anyone in a costume. There were nightmares before Christmas until she could be convinced that Father Christmas would not come into the house, but would leave presents on the doorstep. She recognised that there was no reason for her fear, and agreed that she would be happy at Disneyland as long as she did not have to get close to any of the characters, but said she did not want to be frightened and was going to try very hard to be brave. Her first sighting, of Goofy, had her wanting to leave the park.
At the end of the first day she smiled and waved to Mickey and Minnie from a safe distance.
On the second day she asked if her mother would stand beside her while she had her photo taken with Eeyore (spelling?). By this time she said she was "shaking only on the inside" and as time went on, her confidence grew and she now has some wonderful memories and photos of her encounters with her new friends.
