There is only one "u" in "nuclear"

I'm with you on that one!! Also "relator" instead of "realtor"!

I hate hearing "nook-you-ler" too.

War sheen ton!

UGH

There is no R in Washington!

My supervisor is the QUEEN of pronunciation errors, sometime we don't even know what she is talking about.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
She says: refrigidager(refrigerator), dramatized(tramatized), blob(blog), there are so many others, I can't think of them right now. But they are hilarious!!
My father in law says digical(digital), tobaggo(toboggan).:lmao:

Jimmy Carter, who was a NUKULER engineer pronounced it the same way. I can overlook it. Of course, its one of the few things I can overlook about Jimmy Carter. ;)

If I can understand what your saying, I honestly don't care how you pronounce it. I have much more important things to be worried about.

There are a lot of folks that have accents and manners of speaking that are different from mine.

I agree with nuclear.

Also,

Probly instead of prob-ab-ly

Axe instead of ASK

Feb-yoo-ary instead of Feb-roo-ary

Liberry instead of Library.

Pronounciation, is not grammer.... just saying.

I hate it when people call "the Cavalry," "the Calvary"

Main Entry: cav·al·ry
Pronunciation: \ˈka-vəl-rē, ÷ˈkal-və-rē\
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural cav·al·ries
Etymology: Italian cavalleria cavalry, chivalry, from cavaliere
Date: 1546
1 a: an army component mounted on horseback b: an army component moving in motor vehicles or helicopters and assigned to combat missions that require great mobility
2: horsemen <a thousand cavalry in flight>

Main Entry: cal·va·ry
Pronunciation: \ˈkal-v(ə-)rē\
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural cal·va·ries
Etymology: Calvary, the hill near Jerusalem where Jesus was crucified
Date: 1738
1 : an open-air representation of the crucifixion of Jesus
2 : an experience of usually intense mental suffering

Older people in the South say 'Oakry' instead of 'Okra'

For you people in the North, Okra is a vegetable. And so are grits LOL

President Bush must have taught her how to say it because he pronounces it the same way

Mamm-i-ogram (mammogram)

Prostrate (prostate)

Mischiev-i-ous (mischievous)

And grammer is not grammar.... just saying.

"Pronounciation"? Is that something one does with noun substitutes?

And it's grammar, not grammer.

thanks for the spelling lesson. I know I can't spell, never have been able to, and never will be able to. And at this point in my life it isn't important enough to me on an internet board to go to another program to do a spell check.

However, my misspelling, does not change the fact that pronunciation is not grammer. (there I fixed those two words just for you)

Suposebly, drives me crazy LOL

This is the one the drives me insane! And you hear it all the time!!!

Can I throw "irregardless" out there, too??

It isnt a word people!!

I always have to take a minute and think about those two, or I know I will say the wrong one!

Hmm, I can't think of any off the top of my head that drive me nuts, but I know that I have some weird pronunciations. I could read college level by the time I left elementary school, so there were many words that I never heard spoken and did not know how to pronounce correctly. To this day I tend to say "hurth" instead of "harth" because to me it was like earth with an h added. I think the proper pronunciation sounds stupid, and I refuse to say it, lol.
