There is NO random dancing at Disney! A June TR *NEW 9/19 *FINAL THOUGHTS*

And.....happy Birthday Amelia!

Your fellow fourth grader Evan, who is a whopping 2 months older, says welcome to double digits!

His mom says...girls seem easier at 10 than boys.

12/13 however is a different story

:rotfl:

Happy Birthday, Amelia!!! Connor is right behind you with turning 10 next month!

Amelia's been very appreciative of all of the well wishes from dis-ers. Every time I show her one she grins from ear to ear.:goodvibes

I always thoroughly enjoy your updates, Christine!

Thank you so much! This one was particularly fun to write because we had such an up day.:)

I agree that the dash to TSM is the craziest one of them all! Good job, George, snagging those FPs!!! I can't believe you got on the ride with a stranger! Too funny! :lmao:

Oh CP, if you knew me better you'd believe it. I seem to be a magnet for embarassing moments. George was a great FP runner. He liked being our hero.

The experience with Sorcerer Mickey is priceless! I love that Ian made him laugh with his celebrity antics!

He was actually still laughing when we walked away!

We are pretty excited about Toy Story 3 at our house, too!

We're not going to Disney next year, sniff, sniff, so we may be counting down to TS3 instead!

That Mickey ice cream sandwich looks so good right now!!!

I agree. Mickey shaped food must contain extra flavor enhancers.

I am really enjoying your TR and your beautiful family.
could be cause i'm a redhead too! :cool1:

Thank you!:) We love red heads in our house.:goodvibes

Omigosh! I just read all of the updates and had several laugh out loud moments!
The first one was at your expense (sorry!)... gosh why didn't George snap a picture of you riding off with a strange man on TSM?!?! That is what my devilish DH would've done!

I think he was too stunned to do anything!

And Ian with Mickey! That is one adorable boy you have! I'm so glad he got picked for Jedi training! I can tell the force is strong in him! ;)

Aw, thanks. I sure like him.:goodvibes He had some really fun, and funny, moments at DHS.

I could go on and on but everyone else already has. I just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed your updates! Plus I wanted to wish Amelia a happy belated birthday! :dance3:

Thanks for the kind words and the birthday wishes. She had a great day and is looking forward to a fun sleepover :scared1: tomorrow!:)

Happy (belated) Birthday Amelia!!!

Amelia says thanks! If she's been delivered 13 minutes later, today would have been her birthday.:)

well your planning seems spectacular so far on this day, wow! What a great day! VERY awkward on the seating, I'd forgotten about that, makes me actually not want to go again unless we are a smaller group. We have been as a foursome and it was fun, a great lunch spot though I have a harder time getting excited about dinner there.

Thanks, the planning really paid off this day plus, the park was just plain uncrowded. Lunch was a lot of fun at Sci Fi, and we were all ready for a little break from talking to each other, but I felt bad that someone had to sit alone.:guilty: Dinner doesn't excite me, either. In fact, I'd love to go and just have an order of onion rings and a big milk shake.:goodvibes

Your sorcery mickey pictures are so precious! As are the jedi training. Ian is stealing the picture show today!

He is!! I asked the girls if they wanted their own pictures with Sorcerer Mickey, but they didn't. They just were not as enthused to meet characters this trip, but Ian was all about them.:thumbsup2

And.....happy Birthday Amelia!
Your fellow fourth grader Evan, who is a whopping 2 months older, says welcome to double digits!

Amelia says thanks for the birthday wishes from you both!

His mom says...girls seem easier at 10 than boys
12/13 however is a different story

:rotfl:

I concur! Lord help me when both my girls are knee deep in hormonal hysteria.:scared1:

Thanks Angie, she did.:goodvibes Tennis in the morning, lunch at home, the lake in the afternoon, dinner of her choosing, presents, poppers and cake in the evening. It was just our immediate family since all of the extras live out of town.

I had a few updates to catch up one. First of all, Happy Birthday to Amelia. I hope you all had a wonderful day together.

I could not stop laughing when I read about you jumping in w/ a total stranger. I would have loved to have seen your face turning bright red as the realization set in as to what you did. :rotfl: You know that it's only so funny to me because it is something that I would totally do.

Ian looked like he was having a fabulous morning at DHS! The pictures of Mickey were priceless. I love that Mickey almost fell over from his excitement. And the red carpet photos were hilarious.

We love the Sci-Fi Dine In. It's a nice atmosphere with A/C. What more could you want? What a great morning for your family!

Wow Christine, I go back to work and find myself 5, count them 5 pages behind!
First of all Happy Belated Birthday Amelia, you are a ten-ager now!

Hail to George :worship: and your fast pass trekking skills!

Ian you looked very much a Jedi with your lightsabor poses!

Now Christine, if you are going to go off with another man, that's just not the way to do it! I had to read that out loud to Marc and I was laughing so hard I couldn't even get the words out!:rotfl2:

Too funny about you climbing in with the guy at TSM! :rotfl:

Your character interaction with Mickey was just so wonderful!! :thumbsup2

I feel the same way about Indian Jones stunt show.

We love Sci Fi!

First, a few pictures from the Magic of Animation building that somehow got separated from their companions on our memory card.

When we came out of Sci Fi and into the blazing heat we had a plan. First up, a visit with some Muppets! I looked and looked for the darn key under the mat, but must not have been looking in the right place, because I didn't find it. We all thought this was cute, but not our favorite 3D movie. I do love that Swedish Chef, though! After our movie, it was time to split up. George, Madeline and Amelia had a FP appointment with Aerosmith and their Rockin Rollercoaster! This was a BIG stretch for Amelia, but she had psyched herself up before we left home to five it a try. George took the camera and took some pictures of the girls on their way to the rollercoaster.

I think Amelia looks very Hollywood in this picture.

Ready to rock!

Meanwhile, Ian and I strolled on over to One Man's Dream. I'd been looking forward to checking out the displays here and they didn't disappoint. I wish I would have had a little more time to meander, but just a short while after we'd begun looking at all of the Walt memorabilia, the start of the movie was announced. I knew if we wanted to see it, now was the time, so we entered the theater with the other 4 people already inside. I thought the movie was very well done. If you're interested in the life of Walt Disney and his dreams for Walt Disney World, try to see it. Ian fell asleep in his chair, poor tuckered out little guy. George called during the movie to let us know that he and the girls were waiting for us at the Toy Story Mania entrance where we'd us the fast passes George oh so gallantly had collected that morning. When we met up I asked Amelia how she'd enjoyed RnRc. She had NOT! I guess thrill rides are just not her thing, but I was awfully proud that she'd faced her fear and ridden it. Ian was sleeping HARD, so George carried him through the fast pass entrance, but woke him in time to play the game. We knew he'd be disappointed if he missed out. I rode with Amelia this time. Guess my family didn't trust me to be the single rider again..:rolleyes1 The ride was just as good the second time through and I received a beaver for my scoring prowess.;) Now, the plan we had made at lunch ended with our TSMM ride, but since Amelia did NOT want anything to do with another ride on RnRc, we had 2 FPs that George and Madeline could use. The new plan would be for us to find a photopass photographer to get pictures in front of the hat, then George and Maddy could go ride RnRc while Amelia, Ian and I went to the car to air it out and wait for them.

Now this was Saturday, June 20th, which was the first heat advisory day of our stay. Temperatures approached 100 degrees, with a head index of 109, so you can only imagine what the interior of our car was like.:scared1: I opened all of the doors and windows to allow the million degree air out and then turned on the AC. When George and Maddy met us at the car I had both kids in the front with me, faces right next to the AC vents. We didn't really have an evening plan, but Maddy had been requesting another trip to DTD so she could buy some ears. My hormonally addled brain agreed to another evening at DTD. It was Saturday. Does anyone else see the problem with this thinking? I had changed our itinerary around once before we even left home when I realized I had put DTD on Saturday. Honestly, once a month my brain just simply doesn't reason well and I shouldn't be allowed to make decisions of any consequence. Sometimes I can't even come up with words for things.:sad2: Anyway, the fact that it was Saturday didn't even register with me until we had gone back to the BC, cooled off and cleaned up, and were looking for a parking spot with the rest of humanity at DTD. Then it registered, but it was too late. I had a daughter, 2 in fact, who were desperate to make some ears. We finally found parking far, far away from the Marketplace and trekked back to the T-shirt place where the design your own ears display was located and the girls got their design on. Ian didn't have a lick of interest in Mickey ears, so George took him to the fountains for some frolicking.

Here are the girls' final creations:

Madeline had Maddy embroidered on the back of her ears.

Amelia chose to get the patch on the front and forgo her name.

When we came out of the store, Ian was in his glory. He had an absolute ball in the fountains!

Amelia decided to join in the fun.

The aftermath.

I watched the frolicking for awhile, then left my wet crew to head into the Christmas store for an ornament. I found a really cute dated one that I'll post a picture of once I ask my sweet husband to extract it from our Christmas decorations. It was getting late and we were all ready for some dinner. Although the menu looked great at WPE, we decided we'd get Earl of Sandwich sandwiches to eat back at our room, or maybe even poolside. I didn't take very good notes about our meal, so I don't know what George or Amelia had. Maddy had the Club, I got the Cobb salad and Ian had the kids grilled cheese. We had it all packed to go then stopped at Goofy's for some more make your own snacks. Ian and Amelia got pretzels and Maddy and I got the giant oreo type cookie. I have to say, the pretzels were way better. The cookie would have been great on its own, but with all the toppings they were just too sweet and hard to eat. We ended up throwing away some of both of the cookies before we left on Monday.

We made our way back to our car and the Beach Club, where Maddy decided she wasn't in the mood for a night swim. We ate our dinners, deemed delicious by all, and then George took Amelia and Ian down to the quiet pool for a quick swim before bed. We were all ready for a good night’s sleep after our long day.

Next Post: A Father’s Day Epcot do-over and one of the best reservations of the trip!

Sounds like another great day. We ate at both WPE and Earl. My kids didn't like Earl that much but I did. I was going to get the cobb salad but got the original sandwich instead.

I had a few updates to catch up one. First of all, Happy Birthday to Amelia. I hope you all had a wonderful day together.

We did, thank!:goodvibes

I could not stop laughing when I read about you jumping in w/ a total stranger. I would have loved to have seen your face turning bright red as the realization set in as to what you did. :rotfl: You know that it's only so funny to me because it is something that I would totally do.

I'm not the only one? Cuz I was pretty sure I had an embarassing things happen here tattoo on my forehead.:sad2:

Ian looked like he was having a fabulous morning at DHS! The pictures of Mickey were priceless. I love that Mickey almost fell over from his excitement. And the red carpet photos were hilarious.

He's a funny boy! We never know just what he's going to do next.:upsidedow

We love the Sci-Fi Dine In. It's a nice atmosphere with A/C. What more could you want? What a great morning for your family!

We had a fantastic morning. One of the best of the trip, I think.

Happy Birthday Amelia!!! Hope she has a great day!!!!!

Thanks Jen. She did. I can't believe my baby girl is 10 already!

Wow Christine, I go back to work and find myself 5, count them 5 pages behind!
First of all Happy Belated Birthday Amelia, you are a ten-ager now!

Ooh, ten-ager! I'll tell her. She'll love that label!!:yay:

Hail to George :worship: and your fast pass trekking skills!

We were mighty proud of his prowess.:)

Ian you looked very much a Jedi with your lightsabor poses!

I agree.:goodvibes Although, and don't tell him, from the back with the hood of his robe up, he looks like a little Jawa.

Now Christine, if you are going to go off with another man, that's just not the way to do it! I had to read that out loud to Marc and I was laughing so hard I couldn't even get the words out!:rotfl2:

I could hardly believe it myself, but I'm special like that.

Too funny about you climbing in with the guy at TSM! :rotfl:

I blame hormonal brain!

Your character interaction with Mickey was just so wonderful!! :thumbsup2

I have very happy memories of our meet with him.:goodvibes

I feel the same way about Indian Jones stunt show.

We had originally planned on seeing the car stunt show, but with the awful heat and Ian's reaction to the fire in Indiana Jones, we didn't think it would work.

We love Sci Fi!

Us too.:yay:

Go Amelia for braving RNRR.:thumbsup2 That takes some guts:goodvibes I love your family shots by the hat. They turned out real nice. Our last day was June 19 so we missed the heat advisory, but:scared1: I didn't think it could get much hotter, but I guess it did! And even the best of us have plenty of planning mess ups. At least they got their ears:goodvibes Can't wait for morepopcorn::

I love the ears!!!! They turned out great. I have to admit, this is why we skip a car at WDW for the most part, parking at DTD even not on a Sat is crazy!

It sounds like it turned out fine though and I love the fountain pictures!!!

I remember that day. It was hot. We were at DTD that day for a little while but earlier than you.

Love the update. Do you know I have been to WDW 6 times and do not own Mickey Ears??? I can't believe it.

We really liked Earl of Sandwich when we went there. Can't wait to hear about Epcot and where you ate.:surfweb:

Another great update!!:thumbsup2

That's too bad that Amelia didn't enjoy RnRc.:sad2: But at least she was brave enough to try it!! Good for her!!:goodvibes (I haven't even tried it yet:laughing:)

Love all the photopass pictures!! They turned out great!!:thumbsup2--and very cute Mickey ears! Both your girls did an awesome job!;)

What a nice way to get cooled off at DTD!! Ian looked like he had so much fun playing in the fountains.

I definitely agree on the cookie at Goofy's. The boys made one last year and it was way to sweet for us. We ended up bringing it home with us, just to throw it away a couple days after we got back. The pretzels that they got this year were much, much better.:thumbsup2

It sounds like despite the heat, you still had a great day!!!

I cannot even begin to imagine how hot it must have been that day!

It may not have been just the hormones -- heat tends to suck all logical reasoning right out of my head!

Amelia made ears that were so similar to Chelsea's -- we have girls with great taste! :thumbsup2

Great photopass pics :)

Sorry Amelia didn't enjoy RnR but at least she gave it a try, this is one of mine and DF's fav rides at DHS.

Glad you opted out of single rider this time on TSM :)

I love those pics of Ian and Amelia playing in the fountains, esp the one where he looks like he is going "yes" with his fists balled up :)

Can't wait to read more :)

You're last post reminds me NOT to go to DTD on a weekend night. I did this on the last trip. We got off the bus walked through the Marketplace and left via the bus at PI because it was a ZOO and this was during the "offseason"....ahhh...the Beach Club in the evening.....little bit o heaven.

Wow!!! 10 pages later and I made it!

So to recap, your lunch at Le Cellier looks like it hit the spot TOOO well that afternoon! But I know what you mean when you all of a sudden realize how late it is!!! We missed riding Soarin with a set of FPs the last trip in Nov, for the same reason, wanted to see Illuminations, no time to do both! And I am glad the resort cafe was open for you! I am sure you are not the first family to crash their door that late!!!

The TSM story was SOOOOOOOOOOO funny. Got a good laugh out of that one!

Your photo pass pics are too cute! I am waiting for mine, too!

Seems like you had a great time at DHS, and made the most of your day, DTD ears very sweet! Hope to see your xmas ornament!

Okay that was a blur, but I am back now, so I can stay on top of all this!!
:rotfl:
