There Is A New Way To Link Reservations And Make Common Requests

Folks,

I was in My Disney Experience modifying one of my existing reservations and saw a new feature that allows one to link your reservation with one or two other reservations. The old way was to exchange reservation numbers and add those to your reservation over the phone with a CM. The new way allows it all to be done on-line. You can also specify some common requests.

So I was in MDE and on this screen I saw the "Room and Amenities Request" section with a selection bubble. Hmmm, let's check it out:

When you click the "Add" bubble, you see the following which allows for common requests (pet/transportation/CS) and "Request a Nearby Campsite":

When you click on the Plus dark bubble next to "Request a Nearby Campsite" you get drop downs that allow you to add up to two people and their arrival dates:

So it's an improvement over the old method of linking. Anyway, I wanted to pass this on for those that had not encountered it yet.

Thank you, I might be needing this soon since my little family vaca in July/Aug has turned into a small family gathering :crowded:

Now if we could just link to a cabin reservation.
We linked our campsite and cabin reservations but do not see the way to make a common request as Ed mentioned above. Would that be because the reservation was made on our behalf by a CAA travel representative? We were able to link the tickets and resort reservations ourselves. Hmmmm.

When you call, they can't make a "Travel With" group with a campsite and a cabin, because their system sees the campsites and cabins as different resorts. Go figure.

I guess it was easy for us to do it ourselves on My Disney Experience with the two reservation confirmation numbers. Crazy that they can't do the same when you call in.

Maybe it's a feature they are trying out but I don't have that option in my MDE. I need to link my reservation with my sister's and have been procrastinating to call when this gave me hope but can't see it on a mac or an iphone. I can't get that "So who is in your travel party?" screen.

ETA: If I use the url you screen shot, I get something about an empty cart and comparing offers. I hadn't seen the compare offers thing before so maybe this is a test the you were lucky enough to be a part of.

Well all I know is I went into MDE on my reservation and first did a "Change a Reservation" to add a day to my Halloween week. Once that was done I went on to this. In trying to get there again (but not adding a day) I can't get there either but I'm glad I took the screen grabs otherwise ya'll would have thought I was crazy.

Actually I believe you could request a loop but it was not guaranteed.
You are correct. It's never been a guarantee. Simply a request, but you can't even make the request on the app now.

Oh well. It seems like most are still finding ways to get their preference known.
