Thank you - I was wondering about the Frozen fireworks. We weren't planning to go to DHS at all this trip. We do have hopper passes, so we could always head over to see them at night. But if we don't have to, I'm happy with that, as well.

Find yourself a comfortable spot, shortly before 9:45 in the evening - either at the benches along the walkway, on the beach, etc., and you should not have any problems, as long as the weather cooperates. It's a really nice show!

Again, you see the higher fireworks, but you still see and hear quite a bit.

So excited! Staying at Yacht Club for a convention the first week of August!

I haven't stayed deluxe since my Honeymoon almost 8 years ago.

I'm eagerly reading this thread and checking out youtube.

The trip im planning is late April 2015. I've already booked half the week at BCV and looking to do a split stay. In order to help me make up my mind I've done a list (also for just in case they don't have my first choice) For first place on the list is a tie between YC and BC (club level at either) . I`m leaning towards YC so I get to enjoy both of the hotels. I`m sure more than one person on here can sympathize how it is not always an easy decision.

Thank you - yes! Same dates - just CL now! See, it was fate....I didn't even realize I hadn't been taken off! :goodvibes

You guys are always the friendliest resort thread on the DIS!!! Thanks for the welcome back.

If you can find the time.... on Monday August 18th @ 6:30 PM in the
Solarium at the Beach Club
we are having out little Dis boards meet up.

This is just a very informal get together to say hello. There will be no speeches (Dee has PROMISED!) and the only entertainment might be watching the group try to pull a pool tube off of NM's butt :sad2:

:banana::banana::banana:All are welcome to attend:banana::banana::banana:

... and if you can't find the time then No worries! We all understand how crazy a Disney family vacation can get.

In other news I recently discovered that my Magical Vacations and Disney Travels still can be planned as there is still some availability. Those of you on the edge now that your kids are home for the summer can still plan on running away from home without them just like 'ol Ninja Mom does. I lead a very boring life so it's nice to know I can still plan a quickie get away and keep the DH and kids guessing where I am now (like they don't know ) Usually I am just sitting on the curb by the fire hydrant waiting for it to be turned on by the local hoodlums.... but sometimes I run away to WDW! If you see a woman on the side of the road with her thumb out and and a bungee cord tied around a bunch of competition quality pool tubes, be sure and stop to pick her up as she is headed to WDW.

Hi Folks, just booked a week at BC - Club Level, first time at any resort on concierge. We arrive 8th September and wondered if there is any work going on with the Club Room. Also, was only able to book a standard room so what request would you make.

Thank you, great thread by the way.

Very possible the lounge will be in the process of renovations. Lucky you! That means the lounge will be in the Presidential Suite!!!!! As far as requests, all the standard view have roof or parking lot views. So, the only request I would make is "close to elevators" IF you don't want to be far away from the lounge. However, some people like to be far away from the lounge and possible guest noise that comes with being close to the lounge. So, it would be up to you as to whether you would want "close to elevators/lounge" or "far away from elevators/lounge".

Happy birthday to all the old farts having birthdays lately! :woohoo: :bday:party::woohoo:

Hey Dee! You forgot to tell me where you were going so I could join in on your vacation... How am I supposed to find you so we can party like it's 1999?

Signed, your pal Buzzy the Fly, your Beach Club Resort guy.

I would pick you up, but you'd have to share the car with the same children I threatened to leave at Target last Saturday.

I posted to the club level thread too but have any of you used Kids Nite Out while staying club level? I'm concerned if they will provide an elevator key for the sitter in case they decide to leave the room.

I will definitely try to make it down there!!! I'd love to meet all of you!! :thumbsup2

And here is the Princess enjoying her day. A few more days and she will be in Nana's arms!

I would pick you up, but you'd have to share the car with the same children I threatened to leave at Target last Saturday.

My family has threatened to leave me at Target or even on the side of a deserted road many many times, so I would fit right in with this bunch!

Depending on how financially lucrative it is I can either whip the children into a frenzy and drive their parents crazy or... IF the parents have more money than the kids (almost never the case!) I can then side with the parents and drive the children crazy until they promise to behave just so I will stop. A bidding war usually results when assorted family members vie for my services. Without exception the children always have more cash on hand than the parents, who sadly have spent all their disposable income on their ungrateful children.

Here is my favorite parenting tip!
Many parents have wised up to the punishment of taking the beloved phone away from the teenager as a behavioral corrective method. Did you know however that you can plus this punishment and make it 100 times more terrorizing if you require that the Teen send an email to all the kids in their class informing EVERYONE that their cell phone has been taken away because they are being punished? The punished offender also has to say that the only way to get in touch with them now that they are phone-less is to send an email to the mother which will be relayed in a timely manner to the misbehaving Teen.

The silence is deafening, both from the offending Teen and the friends as the friends would rather be caught dead than to be talking through the mother. When ever things start to get a little snippy at your house be sure to trot out this highly effective behavioral modification tool! :thumbsup2

Darn!!! We check out of the Grand Floridian on the 25th or I'd jump on it. It's too far for us to drive back in for it. We're almost an hour away. You probably wouldn't have wanted a little 3 year old anyway.
I look forward to hearing about your stay!!

This time next week, I should be pulling into the YC!!!!

I just threaten mine with dropping them off at the Orlando Motel 6 instead of BC/YC or GF!!! I get blank uncomprehending stares

Hello, Y&BC lovers! I hope you are all having a great summer!

My apologies if this question has been asked and answered many times - I did a search, but couldn't find this specific topic.

We have decided to book either Yacht or Beach Club for our next trip, and the only category available is standard. I'd prefer to upgrade to garden, but no go. We love both resorts, prefer the room decor at BC but the overall feel of YC (love the dark woods in the lobby and the quieter ambiance).

At which resort do we have a shot at getting a better view with standard? I know to expect roofs or parking lot, but I wondered if there were more...well, for lack of a better word, lol...ugly views at one over the other? Does one resort's standard rooms have a plus the other does not?

I'm having a hard time making a choice, I thought having this info might push one over the top.:teeth:

TIA!:goodvibes
