Well, I am off to WDW tomorrow...but we won't be at YC/BC.

We will be at All Star Music with a High School marching band! If you are in the MK for the 3:00 parade on Saturday the 14th, you might see my "kids" as they march ahead of the parade!

In July, DH and I are headed to YC for a week to recover from our band trip. :cool1:

Sorry! Wanted to add one more thing: My husband and I had our anniversary dinner at Shula's over at Dolphin last night. It was absolutely fantastic and I cannot say enough about the food, service, and ambiance. It was such an easy walk from BC. If anyone is looking for a nice place for dinner, put this on the list.

Good to hear. We have a reservation there during our August trip. Happy to hear your positive review.

Sounds like you're having a great time :thumbsup2

Just checking in to let everyone know how we are enjoying our stay. To be honest, I think I made a big mistake by booking the YC...we'll never want to go back to a value ever. :rotfl:
Couldn't be more pleased with the resort, the staff, the pool, the food. Everything has exceeded our expectations. There was a minor hiccup upon check in with our room, but Brittani in the Regatta club went out of her way to fix it for us. We are in a room that shares the super large balcony overlooking the front entrance. I thought we may not enjoy the shared balcony, but it's really been a non issue.
You guys weren't exaggerating about the intoxicating smell of the lobby, it's so delightful. It's quite possible we've found our Disney home.
Thank you all for the wonderful information and advice, we are so glad we gave it a try! :worship: :worship:

Yes, the deluxe resorts are addicting, ESP CL! We had that balcony last year. I was worried at first too, but most times we were the only ones on it. The potential for multiple families with lots if kids is what worried me. With kids using it as a big playground, lol! And lack of privacy. I'd still prefer a private balcony.

Hi everyone!

Heading out to BC on 6/11, staying there for a week. It's my ds's first time there and we're doing it as an early 1st birthday celebration (that, and no more school for my other ds and dd). We usually stay at POR, but decided to change it up this time around. We can't wait - my older ds loves swimming so I'm sure he's going to have a great time at SAB.

A couple quick questions:

- How easy is it to maneuver a single or double stroller around BC and SAB? DS isn't walking yet, but he's getting heavy to carry around.

- Is it possible to get specific items from the Marketplace? For example, my kids would be happy with just bacon and a biscuit, but it looks like they're only part of a meal including eggs and hash browns.

Thanks!

I'm hoping someone might know the answer to this BC question. We are a party of 2 in a BC garden room. If we do not get a daybed or couch, is there anything else to sit on in the rooms besides the bed, desk chairs or patio chairs?

Happy First Birthday to your son. :cake: We celebrated our grandson's first birthday at the BCV. :lovestruc

Maneuvering a stroller around the BC will be fine, especially since you can walk to Epcot or roll your stroller onto the boat to HS. SAB will be a little trickier, since the pool area is divided into sections. But just park yourself by the shallow, sandy area and you'll be fine.

You'll be able to get bacon as a side. We bought scrambled eggs and bacon as side items when we were there. And they have bakery items for sale, too.

It is indeed part of the promotion you purchased, so it has to be used during that time. I found that the free dining or room discount was a much better promotion for guests. Have you tried applying a newer promotion?

Thanks for the information on the Memory Maker! I'm completely fine with using it for this trip, but was just curious. The free MM was actually just a "bonus" to the AP rate I received for our room, I wouldn't have booked just for that. You are right, that would NOT have been a good deal, especially at the BC :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Sounds like u r having a great time. I check in yc cl soon!! I noticed your comment on the thin walls and have to day my 5 yc cl stays were no issue here but my last bc cl was bad. Tissue thin walls. We has connecting door do u

It's funny you mention connecting doors because yes there is one! I never would have made that connection. Guess what time that darn crying baby woke up again? 7:30 am like clockwork! Fortunately I had to get up to do laundry so it was time for me to get up. Our kids take to crying babies early in the mornings on vacation too well though.

Speaking of laundry, I writing here live from the BC quiet pool. Out of the four washers only two work. One is unplugged but the other one looks fully functional. I lost $2 in it since there's no broken sign. Grrrrrrrr. It's also more fun to do laundry while drinking beer. No beer for this broad as Tom Collins isn't serving anything yet here in the laundry room. :(

I hope you can get your $2.00 back. If it make you feel better, I did not have any drink while doing laundry last night either. LOL

Live update:

I had a big 'ol post typed up last night while relaxing at SAB but my app crashed and I lost it! So here's the abbreviated and definitely less witty since it's 8:30am now and when I typed the last one it was after a Grey Goose Slushie and a beer......so away we go!

Yesterday was fantastic! Joel took the girls to SAB while Jay and I ran some errands in the morning. Lunch was extremely healthy.....chips, dip, hummus and crackers, chocolate covered pretzels and Swedish fish! We had a 4pm reservation at B&C and didn't want to spoil our appetites! Typically we are a Kitchen Sink kind of family but decided to switch things up and order a No Way Jose, brownie a la mode and a Fudge Mudslide. They were all super yummy!!!!!!

After our ice cream, I had a lovely chat with Teena. She is such a gem! Another DIS'er even stopped for a moment to chat with us.

I'm going to hit post and be right back....my washers are done.

It was no better last August on the YC side with laundry machines :(

I think I'll add one more request to my res, no connecting doors!!! Ugh!

Say hi to Teena for me :goodvibes. We have ADRs at B & C in August. ( I can't believe it's June already) and was thinking we'd try the No Way Jose!

Live update: we had a glorious day at SAB yesterday! Not too crowded. But crowded enough that our kids could play a pick-up game of volleyball. Lunch from Hurricane Hanna's was delicious. I even ran into a longtime friend at SAB....her and her family is staying at BCV this week. After swimming I finally got a chance to talk with Teena!!!! We had a very enjoyable chat! Then we were off to MGM (sorry, I'm old school). The crowds there were fabulous! We rode Star Tours, TSM, ToT (all with FP's) GMR, One Man's Dream (this was a first for me) and single rider RNR. We spent less than three hours there! MK had evening EMH until 2am last night so when were were done at MGM we headed over there.

We dined to the chart busting tunes of Sonny Eclipse. MK was crowded and raining so we walked over to Buzz where in line my husband googles how to get 999,999 and he proceeded to get it! Well, that threw the rest of us into a major tizzy because we wanted that score too. After riding a gazillion more times, we gave up on our high score quest and decided to take lots of fun ride photos on Buzz. It took my son 20 times but he finally got his 999,999 score! Fortunately the girls and I had moved on well before that! We ran into my SIL and her family so we did a few attractions with her and her family including their inaugural ride on Dumbo! This family goes to WDW every year but has never ridden Dumbo! The line for SDMT was insane but the wait for the Frozen sisters was only 30. We didn't do either one. Instead we rode the carousel and HM.

One interesting item to note.....as we were eating ice cream on Main St at 1:30am, the Kiss Goodnight happened. The Kiss Goodnight occurs about 90 minutes after park closing and the colors change on the castle and a voice comes over the loudspeaker wishing everyone had a magical day and a good night. I was shocked to see it occur during EMH!

Did we make it until 2am? Almost....1:45am. It's now 11:17am and both girls are still asleep. I got up an hour ago as to not miss breakfast.

Our next door neighbors have a baby who cries incessantly every morning at 7:30. And the dad talks so flipping loud I can hear him thru the walls. I've never ever heard a neighbor thru the walls here before.

Talk to ya later!

I read a post, can't remember by who, that had a solution to loud neighbours! She stood by connecting door and in a loud voice pretending to speak to her daughter said ( insert name) please remember to keep your voice down honey, we're in a hotel and don't want to disturb our neighbours.

Phew! I'm back!

Here's a pic of our family with Teena

We only used one of our FP's last night....the one for TT. Instead, we wandered around World Showcase. I had never watched the movie in China. It's beautiful! I totally want to go there now! We ate at China's QS restaurant and it was delicious.....except for the ice cream. We then leisurely walked the rest of the countries and ended with a Grey Goose Slushie watching IllumiNations from the bridge in France. Perfect!

Lilo and Stitch was the movie on the beach and it just so happens to be Megan's favorite movie. She and Jay walked back to watch the movie while Amy stayed with us to watch the fireworks. Tonight's movie is Frozen. D'ya think it'll be crowded? Hahahaha. I'll be sure to report back!

SAB was pretty empty last night, at least from 10-11. I think SAB is our kids' favorite part of this resort!

Joel is taking Amy and Jay to Cocoa Beach today while Megan and I hang out here. Megan broke her foot and toe a month ago and is being such a trooper schlepping around with her big walking boot on. We might head to DTD later on.

See ya!

The other tip I have read here is to put a rolled up towel at the base of the connecting door to deaden a little of the sound from passing though.

:thumbsup2

Argh! Darn that Tom Collins for not serving up some drinks this morning!

Let's try one more time on the pictures

I've been playing nice at my new hobby and just had to share
