Us too. We don't have to leave for MCO until 5pm on our check out day and it's not a "parks day" for us. I guess the resort public bathrooms will have to do for our changing needs. :sad1:
Bell services will hold on to our big suitcases/bags between check out and getting on DME, correct?

Correct.

Remember, if you don't need your big suitcases that day and you are flying with a participating airline, you can bring your luggage to the RAC (resort airline checkin) BEFORE 1 pm, I think, and they will be checked through to the baggage claim of your home airport.

But yes, bell services will hold on to anything you want to keep with you that day.

:thumbsup2

Oh my goodness. things are imploding here at DisneyDad's house...

My youngest and I are both on antibiotics. he needs a new type that won't make him vomit. Wife decided she didnt' want to leave at 2am on weds so we are leaving a day early. I"m busy trying to change hotel reservations. Having to pack a day early. work is fun trying to wrap everything up.. sheesh...

THANK GOODNESS WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY!!!!!!!!!

Scott - sending good wishes for a speedy recovery for Grace!

Today I start packing. Working half days this week. Really cramping my style

Can't wait to see everyone at our Meet!

FRIDAY, FRIDAY, FRIDAY! I can't believe it's practically here, and as Murphy's Law predicted, life threw us a monkey wrench this weekend. Many of you recall that we lost one of our cats, Henry right after Christmas. It was fast, and he was too young, and I'm still not over it. Well, on Friday, his sister, Grace started getting very, very sick, and it was somewhat touch-and-go all weekend. She seems to be recovering as of last night, and she has a vet appointment in a few hours to verify, but holy cow, I was seriously having the talk with DP about how much money we'd actually loose if we pulled out at this point, and I think it would be a lot. My fingers are heavily crossed that she does well at the vet this morning, so we can get back to our regularly scheduled planning. I'm a nervous pre-vacationer as it is (will we forget something, will the house burn down while we're gone, will the resort loose our reservations, will the lines be too long etc.), and I had firm plans of what was supposed to get done this weekend, and we spent the whole weekend with Grace, resulting in me now running around like crazy trying to get things ready. Keep Grace in your thoughts and prayers and I do plan to see many of you this weekend!

Take care of your fur baby. We rescheduled our trip in 2008 at the last minute due to illness of our beloved dog, Crosby. Totally get it. Hoping for the best for you.

Rebecca

Don't worry - I love putting together a good, picture heavy trip report. I'm not the photographer that some of our Dis buddies are, but I can take a decent enough picture to give you something to dream about.

:goodvibes

Hope you are packing!!! Can't wait for pics and reports!!

Janet - glad you got through your working weekend! It is hard that work gets in the way of life sometimes! Your one week from now sounds terrific though.

One week from tonight my mom and I will be spending an evening at AK for a couple of hours after a rest from daytime activities at MK. I am excited to spend time with my mom at Disney!

Rebecca

Favorite kind of trip are mom and daughter trips!! Have fun!!

I was supposed to pack yesterday but had to run so many last minute errands that it never happened :sad2:. As for work??? Well, today is a holiday in RI and this is the first year in over 18 years that I've had to work it :sad2:. By the time I get home, I plan to pack as much as I can but of course, if I don't finish, I'll have no other choice but to finish after work tomorrow which means, once again, I'll be a last-minute packer :crazy2:.

2 more sleeps, 2 more sleeps :upsidedow

I started packing yesterday, but I can't understand why the stuff I need for two days won't fit in the small carryon that my teenager used for two weeks of clothes in California and Hawaii! (Well, a week of clothes, we planned on washing half-way through)

:sad2:

:sad2:

Wow, a week's worth of clothes in a carryon :worship:.

Dee...consider yourself lucky!

Both my girls are taking their own suitcase plus their own carryon and my oldest has already brought me 3 pairs of flip flops to pack in my suitcase because, as she put it, it won't fit in hers . DH is about to stroke with the thought of all the luggage and all they keep telling him is that he just doesn't understand because he's a guy :rotfl:

Yes, RAC closes promptly at 1:00 pm, once they have taken care of anybody in line. It's important to have all legal I.D. and confirmation info for all who are checking in. I've witnessed guests who wanted to check in at the last minute and did not have one or the other and were told they may not be able to check bags, unless they could return in time to the podium with the needed info. The service is just like curbside check-in at the airport, so if you tip curbside at the airport, don't forget to do the same at RAC - especially for good service. These are not Disney employees.

We usually would leave carry-on(s) with bell services, until departing on the ME later in the day. Last time, however, a CM suggested leaving carry-ons with the outdoor valet station, at the front entrance. This was so much easier. Shortly before ME pick-up. the carry-ons were picked up outside at the same location. I don't know what happens, however, if there are many carry-on bags needing to be stored till ME pick-up. If someone has perishables that they will be flying with, bell services does have a way of refrigerating smaller packages, till departure from the resort. Again, don't forget to consider a tip for using this extra service.

Prayers for poor little Grace for a quick recovery!!!

We arrive Saturday and of course, my youngest has started coughing....who gets sick in the summertime???:sad2:

Hope all goes well at the vets :goodvibes

Poor Grace... get well soon. Hopefully, your trip goes smoothly from here on out. Do you have a family member or friend who can take care of Grace when you are gone?

Scott and Tom, I am so sorry to hear about Grace. I hope she is on the road to recovery. Sending positive, healing thoughts. Please let us know!

Thanks for all the kind words. The vet said the best and worst thing he could say which was, "She looks ok, but let's wait one more day and look at her again tomorrow. Basically, without getting graphic, the only thing left to get her back to normal is to get her to...ahem.... "use" her litter box. She's back to eating sat of yesterday, which is great, but we need to see that the food, you know....made an exit. So....she has until tomorrow to again...."use" her litter box, and if not, back to the vet and X-rays and bloodwork we go.
I really don't think there's anything seriously wrong with her, but since we have a 6:05 A.M. flight out on Friday morning, we need this problem solved by Thursday, no exceptions. My parents will be taking care of her, but I would hate to have them take her to the vet, etc.

Hope your fur baby makes a speedy recovery, and we see you soon xx. Hopefully the weather will improve, as I got so wet today, the maid came after me with a towel when we came into the hotel!

So you are checking in 3 days from now? Although we have not been privy to any of the timetable details, I think they will still be working on the lounge and extremely unlikely that work on the rooms will be starting at that time.
I emailed IPO and they said that the reno would be done by the fall, but that the service and club level offerings have not been compromised. We are going to stick with our reservation since we've never stayed Club Level at the Beach Club, so we have nothing to compare it to (except our few stays at the OFC at WL). So I am very much looking forward to "hanging out" in the Presidential Suite :rotfl2:while enjoying my coffee....

Just a few more days....
And I will post some pictures here and my thoughts. :)

Thank You!
So excited! I packed a bunch of toiletries and items for the resort room (organizers and such). It's early (over 3 weeks) but I know the last week will be full of trying to prepare for leaving "the household" (4 cats, houseplants, gardens, pool, etc) w/o me for 10 days. It will be so much less stressful if I'm packed up of all but the unavoidable last minute things.

On our itinerary I have in bold RED text about the 1pm closing. Just copied and pasted the rest of your post to my info sheet! Thanks! :thumbsup2

Scott I know what you are going through. This past March we were 5 weeks from our BC vacation and our cat Java got really really sick. We were able to reschedule everything thankfully. I hope and will pray that your little fur baby makes a speedy recovery.

They need to have trip insurance that covers an illness of a pet.

You certainly don't want any stress, after having such a wonderful, relaxed, fun visit. It sounds like you are all prepared for a magical trip.

Have a great time!

And I will post some pictures here and my thoughts. :)

I did the same. We have stayed at BC Club before and the club was very small. I referenced that in my email to IPO to ask if it is "even smaller now." I was assured that I won't be disappointed as the club offerings haven't changed. The flow of the space is better and the view is better. I will stick with it!

Everyone is talking about packing and I've barely started. I figure I'll pack on Saturday, in preparation to leave on Sunday.

That said, I have set aside the three most important items. Our passports, our plane ticket email, and most importantly, my custom spreadsheet outlining every minute of our Disney stay.

I figure my priorities are in order. I can always buy toiletries and clothing at WDW, but my spreadsheet is priceless.
