Are you headed to WDW SOON??

Are you concerned about the "Alleged" lack of counter service options? :sad2:

Do you have a park hopper ticket?? ::yes::

Well then.... FEAST your eyes on this! Boulangerie Patisserie les Halles in EPCOT"S FRANCE is right around the corner from the International Gate entrance and they've got all this and MORE!!

http://allears.net/dining/menu/boulangerie-patisserie-les-halles/all-day

They open at 9 am, I repeat they open at 9 am

Sure does beat the heck out of a food court huh? (Whine, whine, whine... there is no place to eat near the resort, wah, wah, wah, I have to walk some place near the hotel to get to food, boo, hoo, hoo, it's not a food court.) Nope!! It's FREAKIN FRANCE fer God's sake!! Saddle up and treat yourself to some victuals that are way better than food court pizza!

We were in BC room 5707 and had an terrific view of the Frozen fireworks. Our room looked out over SAB so I would think that rooms in that area would all have a good view if you are in that area of the resort.

Okay, so here is my journey so far...
I originally made my reservation in April for Beach Club (12/5/14-12/10/14). Then a few weeks ago RO discounts came out. I didn't call quick enough, so I a BC discount wasn't available. I moved to a studio villa at Wilderness Lodge. I know that WL is supposed to be beautiful and awesome, but the studio seemed very small for 5 of us and we stay at a hotel called Great Wolf Lodge and it reminded me of it... I wanted something different. I've been online daily looking at other resorts and nothing stood out. Last night I went on and BC standard view (wanted garden, but oh well) came up. I quickly called and switched back over and it was only $40 more. I am so excited to be back at BC. Now I'm just hoping I don't get a balcony on top of a gravel roof. LOL.

Sorry for my long rambling, I'm just excited.

Question: I read some reviews that said the resort is really big and you can have long walks. It doesn't seem too bad, so I'm just wondering how long could my walk be from my room to lobby? 5-10-15 minutes?

Congrats on finding a good deal at the BC.

The resort isn't that big. You will make it from room to lobby in less than 5 minutes.

Also, don't worry about the gravel roof views. They really aren't that bad. From most rooms to see the gravel roof you would have to be standing on the balcony looking down over the railing. If you are just sitting on the balcony, you will look out to beautiful sky and trees in the distance. When we were in a SV room a couple of years ago we good see right down to the Yachtsman roof. While not that attractive, we were rarely standing up looking down at it, so we really didn't notice it. More importantly, that same SV room at night had a nice view of the MK Wishes fireworks. It was really nice to return to the room some nights and see some of the MK fireworks.

Thank you JanetMom. Funny... my mom is Janet:laughing:

Now I'm not so worried about where I'll be. I asked for an upper floor balcony for my DD (6) because she really wants a room with a valcony. LOL!

Hi, I've been searching the web and I know the information is in here somewhere but I'm on a mobile devise and it's driving me crazy, but we're off to the YC in a weeks time and in trying to do my room request! How do I do it? I can't remember if I call, fax or email. Im worried I've left it too late :-(

I'm not sure if the answer is different for overseas friends, so hopefully one of our readers from UK or Ireland can confirm or correct my info.

Did you do an online advanced checkin? There are a few options there, like upper floor or first floor, but if you are looking to specify another location like "near lobby" or something like "daybed please", you need to call in the request or have your travel agent do it.

I don't think a fax or email request is effective.

We usually recommend 7-10 days from your vacation so I don't think you are too late, but you should put in the request sooner rather than later.

I'll edit in the phone number I use (the regular Central Reservations Office line), but if there is a different one you should use, hopefully someone can share that.

Thanks for that. I can't believe I've had this booked for 18 months and not done this!!!
I haven't done online checkin so I will phone. Thank you very much :-)

My husband and I will be at the Beach Club for the first time Oct. 28-Nov. 4. We are excited to experience this resort. Hopefully we can come back soon with kids and grandkids. I enjoy reading all the posts here. Thanks for taking time to share info.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

Yep, 16 days for us, yacht club fun soon. Seeing the dark side first, so 12 more days and we'll be enjoying the Florida Sun.:beach:

Has anyone activated their military tickets at the International Gateway? I was hoping we could do it there, then enter Epcot.

If anyone is interested, called the SOG, and asked about the Halloween Party tickets. They do sell them, but not in advance. Must buy them at SOG. So, that means we'll have to make a stop there, otherwise, I could get them at MK Guest Services, but will pay tax. Hmmm.

Bumping! Anyone know?

I just have to post this SOMEWHERE>>>>>>>>>>

Today marks the beginning of our 1 MONTH (30 days) countdown!!!!!!!!!!!!:yay:
(that's weird... earlier this morning, my ticker in my sig said clearly "one month until..." now it says "4 weeks and 2 days")

Question of the day: Best suggestion for changing into our bathing suits when we 1st arrive at BC (~10-11am) so we can hang out at SAB until #1 we get into our room and #2 our checked bags arrive.
Locker/changing room at the BC fitness center? Is that allowed? Would rather not use a bathroom stall for changing if at all possible bc of, you know, the whole, "OOPS I dropped my [fill in the blank] into the toilet as I was changing" :sad2:

Our room was ready for us when we checked in at 11am. That would solve all problems if your room was ready, too. :)

But, if not, you could always ask at the health club if they would let you change there. The worst they could say is no. There is a bathroom between Cape May and Beaches and Cream, just inside the door. There is also one right off the lobby, close to the elevators.

Good advice. I'll second the recommendation of using the inside bathroom instead of the one poolside to change into swim suits if you are not allowed to use the health club

There is a thread that states the current BB is for free dining 8/20/2015 - 10/02/2015.

Thanks for posting this link.

BTW- :welcome:

I don't see you on the Be Our Guest list, so I will add you for August.

:woohoo:

Does anyone know if you can see the Frozen Fireworks from the YC/BC?

I don't think I can move my plans to accomodate limited Sept dates.

Thanks!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the list for September.

:yay:

What are Frozen fireworks?
:confused3

:welcome:

Do you have an upcoming stay at the resort?

:goodvibes:

:cheer2:

I would go with 10 minutes being the longest it would take to get from the furthest room to the lobby, but that is just a guess.

This brought up a question for me.... I already put in my room request to central reservations via telephone. Is my best bet (to get my requests) to just leave it at that or should I also do online check in and make my requests there too? The speed of check in is not my priority. Getting the room requests is.

What is your request- you have a limited selection of preset requests when you checkin on line. For example, the request for a daybed is not one of the requests. So if that is what you want, then I wouldn't do the online, and just rely on the request you phoned in.

I think full balcony is one of the BC requests. If that was my request, I would make sure it was called in, I would do online checkin and indicate full balcony as a request, and not override the requests with the option that gives you a room ready as soon as possible.

Does that make sense?

:)

That much? I'm surprised since it was no longer than 10-15 minutes from the Boardwalk... I thought the Yacht Club was closer.

I think Ninjamom was including a stop at the gas station mini mart to buy the bear a 6 pack of beer. No beer = Angry Bear, thus the chasing. The mini golf course is right across the street from the main entrance of the Swan Hotel. Depending upon your walking pace and how long you have to wait for any bears in your traveling party, it could take that long. If you are traveling with 3 little bears, well, that could take forever!

Signed, Buzzy the fly, your Beach Club Resort bon vivant and friend to bears, who also like to snack at trash cans.

Thank you - I keep telling my husband, want a pint? You will be able to walk to ENGLAND to grab one! Like seriously, ditch the kids & I at SAB and walk to WS. hmmm....come to think of it, I may never see him this vacation :rotfl2:

I am worried about the heat. We have been having unbelievably nice weather here in PA. Pleasant not too humid. So cool in the morning, you need a jacket! So we have not built up tolerance of humidity that we have in past years (we always go to Disney in August). I am just hoping the nice weather follows us down :-)
